This beautiful apartment, with wooden beams and stone walls, has a modern, fully-equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, and beautiful antique furnishings. The apartment is situated over two floors: on the ground floor are kitchen, dining room, and living room, with a door leading to a very large terrace overlooking the Tuscan Hills. There is also a bathroom, with full-size bath and shower, on the ground floor. The upper floor includes two double bedrooms (with orthopedic mattresses) and a single bedroom (plus roll-away bed) all with views over the hills. There is also a large shower room on the upper floor.
A community swimming pool and tennis courts, in a beautiful rural setting, are a short distance from the apartment. The hot springs bath spa of Bagni di Lucca, made famous by Byron, is less than a half hour's drive away. Winter snowskiing is available in Abetone, about one hour away.
Barga itself is a beautiful, medieval town with restaurants, shops, antique dealers, and a Saturday morning market. There are various festivals throughout the summer months, including a Jazz festival and opera festival. The apartment is 40 minutes north of the shopping and restaurants of Lucca, one hour from the sandy beaches of Viareggio, an hour from the monuments of Pisa, 90 minutes from the art treasures of Florence and approximately two hours from Siena. |
