Excellent public transport links: The property is extremely well served by public transport and allows for easy access to both Barcelona and Sitges-by car, train or bus. It is only a 15 minute walk to one of the biggest uninterrupted beaches in Spain. The bus stop is just outside the house and serves Castelldefels (and different sections of the beach) every 45 min. Port Ginesta is only 5min away by car and is regarded as one of the largest and best equipped marinas in the region. Both Barcelona and Sitges provides lots of interest for Art lovers. Entry into Art Galleries in Barcelona is low cost and sometimes free. A guide book for guests, compiled by one of the owners who is an Artist, will provide a wealth of knowledge of places to visit featuring the best known artists in the area and places to view the work of contemporary artists.
The owners of the villa lived here with their family for almost 5 years and would look upon it affectionately as a family home offering all the amenities one would expect from a home of this type.The numerous,large terraces offer plenty of space for privacy and one certainly never wants for space!
Very popular resort: The area known as Castelldefels playa is very popular with people from Barcelona and as such offers every modern amenity one could think of, from great restaurants of all culinary types to beach bars, cafes salsa clubs. I stayed in this lovely house for an art holidayin September 2009 and had a wonderfully relaxing and fulfilling holiday. The house is blessed with terraces and enough space for a group of people to spread out comfortably, with a good sized pool to cool off in. We enjoyed wonderfully healthy wholesome food, and I can defintely recommend the local bread! Close enough to a rail line for trips to Barcelona, and nearby towns such as Sitges. Not content in merely recommending this lovely house to others - I shall be returning this September. Thanks to Michele for her hospitality in opening her home to guests, can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, people with disabilities.

I spent a week with friends in this Castelldefels property set back into the pine forrest. We found it to be clean, tidy and very homely, decorated with an eclectic mix of art. The baloneys adjoining many rooms were a real treat and the overall layout of the house was that we all had our personal space with room to spare. The proximity to Barcelona and Sitges was perfect for day trips. The local beach being a pleasant walk through the beautiful area was gorgeous and felt safe. We particularly enjoyed watching the squirrels jumping from tree to tree and the outdoor space which was home to many birds. What a great holiday, especially for February when the sunshine was so welcomed. I look forward to returning with my extended family in the future. Me and my family had a wonderfull week during my 60 yeras celibraition. We stayed eleven adults and a one two year old grandchildren without any problems, rooms, bathrooms and everything was big enough. You could always find a place to sit or lay down outside, in the sun or in the shade as you like. If you liked a swim in the ocean insted of the excellent pool it was a nice walk down to the sea but a little tuffer walk back home, but then the pool was even more than excelent. The communications to Barcelona was good, we used the train. The car we only used for shopping, it is nice to almost be without it for a week. Overall I highly recomend the place for a holliday.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with young children.

Description accurate for facilities and layout of the villa. We were a party of 7 and there was more than enough space for everyone to be accomodated. The property was very clean with a welcome package of basic foodstuffs and ample toilet paper - all much appreciated when arriving late at night so no last-minute dash to the shops for essentials was necessary. We spent Christmas there so the pool was not exactly useful but huge and very pretty to look at. Kitchen was exceptionally well equipped and the beds were all comfortable and nicely made up. We had a car but it is entirely possible to get around using public transport - which is very good value for money and extremely efficient and definitely the best way to get into Barcelona and the lovely town of Sitges. The walk back up the hill from the train station ensures that no gym workouts are necessary on the holiday. Owner and his agent provided very good service - would recommend slightly more accurate directions from the airport for future visitors as Spanish signposting leaves a lot to be desired and we saw rather more of the local countryside on arrival than we would have liked! Imagine it would be a lovely place to be in the summer with the pool and large outdoor spaces making it a haven from the hustle and bustle of the seaside. Terraces and stairs make it unsuitable for people with disabilities but older, active people could certainly enjoy living there - my parents are fit 80 year olds and managed extremely well. Would recommend the big bus tour of Barcelona for visitors wanting to get a good overall view of the city and suggest taking the pass that covers two days as there is a lot to see and not enough time in one day if you make stops to visit local landmarks and places of interest. A Spanish phrasebook is useful as English is not necessarily spoken and the Spanish do seem to appreciate all pathetic attempts at speaking their language and were very helpful.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, tourists without a car.

The villa is modern with all necessities for storage, cooking, washing and living. It is also situated fairly central weather you want city center, Sitges, Barcelona, or the beach. We where 3 families together and there was space enough to hide if that was your desire. And with 4 bathrooms/toilets queue never occurred. A large spacious terrace with a cooking place, a large pool, and lots of sunchairs, made that space our favorite place. (We didn’t bother to visit the beach every day) Excellent infrastructure with bus from city center to our doorstep, a 15 minutes walk to the train station witch took you to Barcelona or Sitges/Villanova I la Geltru, made it unnecessary to bring a car. (And you didn’t have to quarrel about who’s going to drive or drink) And you got free exercise by walking from the train station and up to the house. (Looooong hill) Bottom line; This place is perfect for families with children (no matter age) but with only adults I would have preferred to stay in Villanova I La Geltru. A fantastic city with a wonderful beach, beach promenades and shopping possibilities. Hans NorwayRecommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car.

Why the Owner Chose Castelldefels:
This villa is very close to Barcelona,Sitges and Tarragona(all accessible by train at very reasonable prices).The huge beach of Castelldefels is at the bottom of the hill on which our villa sits.All amenities are available in the town,which can be accessed by bus from the stop 200m from the villa.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The unique feature of the villa is the amount of open space there is outside.There are 3 very large terraces,all on different levels and all sufficiently far away from each other to provide a secret hideaway.The pool is very large at 9m by 5m and the villa is surrounded on 3 sides by pine forest.All in all,a wonderful location for a large family or group of families.
