This charming casa has the perfect setting to relax. Enjoy morning coffee or evening cocktails on the lovely garden terrace patio surrounded by flowers and greenery and beautiful bouganvilla. The house is decorated to make you feel at home, with comfy furniture, reading lamps, good mattresses, fluffy towels, a writing desk, well-supplied kitchen and a wonderful 2nd floor patio/porch with views of the Sierra Madres. Head up the spiral staircase to the rooftop margarita patio for even better views of the church spires and surrounding vistas.
The house is tucked just off the street in the lower part of Atascadero. It is quiet and private, with a high brick wall surrounding the property. And to make it easy to keep in touch with family back home, FREE Internet access is included, along with Cable TV.
The house is just a 10-minute walk down to the Jardin (and 15 minutes back up Santa Domingo).
Includes maid service twice a week. Daily maid service and a cook are available for an extra fee. Large LR with west wall of windows! Very private, gated property. Two full baths with showers; master bedroom with queen-size bed plus one guest bedroom with double-size bed. Completely furnished and ready to enjoy.
Of note: The Atascadero area has gorgeous views and the streets are all cobblestone. If you have trouble walking or use a cane, we do not recommend this property. It would be better to stay in a flatter part of town and forgo the views.

Why the Owner Chose Atascadero
We purchased our first property in 1998 on our very first visit to SMA – we fell in love with the town and immediately started looking in the Atencion for available properties. We found a lovely house in Atascadero owned by a physician from the US who had just retired to SMA permanently. He was building a large new home and was ready to sell his "vacation" home. So we bought it; then our neighbor in SMA next door was elderly and gave us the first opportunity to purchase this property when he needed to move to a one-level home.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The Atascadero area has beautiful views of the Sierra Madres. Plus, our street is "walk only" on our little block, so it is very quiet and peaceful. Yet we're just a 10-minute walk to the Jardin and all the action. We love walking and also enjoy the 20-minute walk to the big grocery store, the Gigante.
But we do take a cab back if we buy more than we can carry. Cabs are so inexpensive in SMA - only about $1.25 US for anywhere within the city limit.

We live in Kansas City and love to travel. We discovered Sam Miguel de Allende through friends in Fort Worth who had a parent retired in SMA. We continue to travel every year in September, often to Europe. However my husband has forbidden me to look at any other properties as we have 2 in SMA and one in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Deb, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Casa del Sole! The set-up of the house (sort of two individual suites) is perfect for a couple traveling with a single person. I stayed in the bedroom upstairs and was very comfortable. San Miguel, Guanajuato and Dolores Hidalgo were fascinating to visit and Casa del Sole was a great home base! We had a GREAT time. Rosanna really loved her "Casita". We lost a couple of pounds due to the location I guess, but we got to be cabbers more and more by the end. We saved the Azafran restaurant until the end -- had we gone sooner, we'd of gone more often -- great place.

We enjoyed the house, though we spent little time there! Iexpected to be on the roof deck more often, but it turns out we enjoyed the patio more frequently for breakfast. A wonderful experience. Thank you. And if we do go back to San Miguel again, you'll be hearing from me. We're now thinking about renting for several months at a time -- but that will have to wait until retirement.

Dear Deb, we had a wonderful time in your house in SMA and I for one didn't want to come home. That is of course another story but suffice to say we loved San Miguel and we appreciated the house. We shopped in the Ramirez market and the Tuesday market and had fun studying your Mexican cookbook. We even made Huitelecoche and veggies being wild mushroom fanatics.
