If you are looking for a mountaintop getaway, the "Seventh Heaven" cottage in the historic Monteagle Sunday School Assembly is the rental property for you, your family, and friends. Built in 1885, this four bedroom, three full bath, Victorian cottage features a spacious, L-shaped, screened porch. You can enjoy a quite afternoon in the porch swing or dine by candlelight at the family table. Two seating areas make this large porch the spot you will want to spend your most relaxing moments.

You and your guests can spread out in the 3000 plus square feet that sleeps eight to ten persons. A master suite, the "Bear's Lair," has two double beds with a bath with shower and clawfoot tub. A private entrance opens to the porch. The "Matisse Suite" is colorfully decorated and features two twin beds and an en-suite full bath. Each of the remaining two bedrooms has two twin beds and share a large hall bath with separate stall shower and clawfoot tub.

A comfortable living room and an inviting dining room are perfect spots to gather. The eat-in kitchen is fully-equipped with all appliances, china, and utensils. The lattice arbor in the newly planted perennial gardens make the cottage grounds a special place to spend quiet times.

Monteagle is located on I-24, 90 miles southeast of Nashville and 50 miles northwest of Chattanooga. The University of the South at Sewanee is only six miles away. This mountaintop town is 2000 feet above sea level and rests at the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains. The nearby South Cumberland Recreational Area has thousands of acres of Tennessee wilderness featuring hiking trails, waterfalls, and caves. Golf and tennis are within an easy drive. White water rafting on the Ochoe, Nantahala, and the Chattuga Rivers is a two-hour drive.
