We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. Got in a little fishing and I even found a couple of sharks teeth! The property is in a quiet, private area and just a few steps from the beach. We enjoyed our time there and would heartily recommend it. The area is lovely and it is not all that far from Washington, DC and Annapolis attractions. Mary and Bill Jones The Villages, FL

Our family of four enjoyed the comfortable and attractive cottage, swimming, fossil-hunting and relaxing on the private beach, and visiting Flag Pond and Calvert Cliffs State Parks, as well as the surprisingly interesting Calvert Marine Science Museum. Late in the week my extended family checked into the Hilton Garden Inn in Dowell, but joined us for dinners and walks on the beach. The cottage proved to be a wonderful place for the 10 of us to relax on the deck and share meals, and we were really pleased and impressed with how well the living areas worked for the larger group, despite the relatively small footprint of the house. We got lucky with the weather as it was cool-ish with a breeze and we could keep windows open during the morning. The owner was most forthcoming with information throughout the rental process, and the cottage has the comfortable feeling of a home with a full set of dishes, kitchenware, etc. We especially liked the motorized awning on the deck which made it a pleasant place to sit and have coffee in the morning or a drink in the afternoon while watching the boats.

We appreciate this place with a very quite and great sand beach. The house is perfect for a small familly and only 3 mn to the beach. We loved to walked on the beach and fish. My daughter played for hours with the sand, and my parents, who came from France for the first time, had a good rest and said the country is charming. And the owner is a nice lady.

What a wonderful two weeks we spent at Flag Harbor Cottage! In fact, we were able to add two additional nights to our stay. The house was just right for us, and we loved exploring that whole area along the Chesapeake Bay. Spring was in full bloom, too, adding to the beauty of the neighborhoods and parks we visited. We plan to return!

Thanks Katherine for your fabulous home. It was the perfect location. Everything we needed was there. I'm embarrassed to admit that we only left the the house and beach once in 9 days! I can't wait to come back.

I wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time at the beach, even with the air conditioning problem. Both of your houses are quite delightful and just what I needed to kick back and relax. My kids enjoyed the area and the things there were to do - we even went kayaking! - and Rosie the sheepdog, LOVED the beach! Thank you so much for opening your doors to us. I have a feeling I will be back there again sooner rather than later!
Owner response:The A/C decided to quit on the first day of Carol's vacation - but she and her family were good sports and kept their cool! Happily, we were able to solve the problem quickly and all was well.

We just returned home from our delightful stay at the Harbor Cottage. We thoroughly loved the home; being just steps away from such a clean, secluded beach was wonderful. The neighbors we encountered on the beach were kind. The air-conditioning helped fight the Maryland humidity, and the cable TV helped our two teens to feel connected to the outside world. It was a perfect spot to bring our dog. Winston loved frolicking in the waves of the Chesapeake. The home's decor was so much nicer than other vacation cottages where we've stayed. Having two bathrooms was quite convenient as well. Solomon's Island had quaint restaurants and sights to see. We enjoyed crossing the bridge into Lexington Park for shopping. Most of all the cottage provided just what we needed: respite from the busyness of everyday. We heartily recommend it for others who enjoy soaking in the sun and relaxing.

This dog-friendly cottage is a beautiful, clean home where one can sit on the porch and watch the boats come in and out of the Marina, then shuffle down to the clean beach and search for shark's teeth, or swim between sandbars in the warm waters of the Chesapeake! We had perfect weather, nice breezes, sunshine all times of day on the porch, no bugs ( Memorial Day weekend), and quiet nights and days. As if all that were not enough; there are lots of activities close by, and we loved birdwatching at the Battle Creek Cypress Swamp near Prince Frederick, we loved taking the dog to the Anne-Marie Sculpture and Botanical Garden near Solomon's Island, and we enjoyed lots of walking in the neighborhood. The Calvert Marine Science Museum is a great place to learn more about the area, but coming back to the cottage was always the best part of the day! The CD cafe in Solomon's has very nice food and does carry-outs, and Robert's ( Prince Frederick in the Safeway complex) has great sandwiches also, and prepares carry-out!!) We will try to return often to this wonderful area, and to this home in particular! Many thanks to the thoughtful owners, who provide just about everything! M.L.

Katherine: We loved the cottage and really enjoyed our stay. What can I say about the ammenities. It was spotless and extremely well equiped, everything you could think of or need. The view of the marina is great as well as the bay from the deck. The beach is beautiful and only steps away. We can't wait to go back. Thanks again: John and Sharon Pelham, NH

We had a great time at the Harbor Cottage. We have 2 boys, 8 and 10 and they had the time of their lives fishing and crabbing in the bay. The house was clean, well prepared and a pleasure to stay in. Take a day or two in Solomons Island if you get the chance. If you have a boat, make sure you get in contact with the Flag Harbor Marina, they will take excellent care of you. All in all, we had a great vacation; thanks a lot!

The cottage was wonderful! The owners take excellent care of it. The view of the marina and Chesapeake Bay are great. We spent several days in D.C...the travel time and traffic were very reasonable. I would definatetly recommend this location when traveling back east.

We loved staying at the Harbor Cottage! The house was very well equipped and clean. The bay was lovely and an easy place for children to walk to and enjoy. A trip to Solomon's Maritime Museum is a must.

We stayed for four weeks. The cottage met expectations and description. It was immaculate when we arrived. The owners have very thoughtfully equipped the cottage with furniture and small amenities like games and local attraction information. The owners were very professional and helpful in the renting process. We intend to return in the future.
