Needed cleaning

This was our first trip to Destin-Okaloosa Island and we really enjoyed it. Destin West was a wonderful pick for us. We have a nine year old that loved the lazy river and pool. The grounds were clean, and the pool area was always neat and clean. The workers were out every morning making sur e everything was nice and neat. This condo is on the fourth floor with wonderful views of the Lazy river, pool and bay. I almost wanted to live on the balcony. I don't know if the cleaning crew were in a hurry but if so they need to slow down and make sure everything is clean. Floors were still dirty in bathrooms and down the hallway. My son found toast behind the couch and bugs behind the living room drapes. The furniture on balcony needed cleaning, as did the glass doors. Carpet in bunk area is nasty---needs replacing bad. The mattress in the master bedroom squeaks so bad --it needs replacing also. Carpet in bedroom needs cleaning or replaced. I wore socks on my feet the whole week and they were so black I could not get them cleaned so I tossed them in the trash when I got home. Mike and Lori were wonderful to work with, but the condo needs some freshing up. It was not the platinum condo that was advertised but it could be. The flat screens and surrond sound were wonderful. In all I am so glad to have been introduced to Destin West, but will research further to make sure we are getting what is being advertised.

Our reviews consistantly come back positive, including comments specifically noting that the condo is kept very clean. We encourage all of our guests to contact us if they have any issues, and are disappointed that this guest did not give us an opportunity to address their concerns. We have worked with the cleaning crew to ensure they understand our expectations. Please read all previous reviews for a true assessement of how nice of a unit this is. December 19, 2011 owner update: The condo has had a thorough end of season cleaning, carpets professionally cleaned, new flooring in the bunk room, and a new king size mattress in the master bedroom.

One of the best times we have had!! The condo is very clean!! And decorated beautiful! The lazy river is the greatest!! The location is Wonderful. We plan to go back again!

The Very Best of Destin West!

This year was the third we have spent at Destin West Beach & Bay Resort. By far, Lori's unit was the best! The condo has all of the amenities of Destin West (lazy river, beach access, whirlpools, great sunsets) PLUS the owners have furnished the unit with quality leather furniture and ample electronics. The kitchen is updated and upgraded! If you're looking for a clean, well furnished condo with a bit of home, this unit is it! For the little ones, the bunk room is perfect with full size beds, dresser, tv and game system with plenty of choices. This unit is much larger than the gulfside units we rented before. Wish we had found this unit years ago!

A Really Nice Week !!!!!!

Okaloosa Island is great !!!!!! It's just off the beaten path, but also just a "hop, skip and a jump" to Destin....... Condo was really nice !!!!!! The picture's are "spot on" !!!!! The pictures of the condo are exactly the way it is...... Very well kept and very clean........... The condo owner was more than helpful with any and all question's that I had prior to going.... I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone who wants to get away and have a great time !!!!!!! There were many things to do in Destin, but for me just getting away, relaxing by the pool and the ocean was really good medicine...... Probably the hightlight of the week was going to "Crab Island"......Just get in the boat, anchor up and relax in the water and the sun while enjoying some nice cold beverages .........I'm ready to go back now !!!!!! :o)

Fun Times at Destin West Bayside!

This was our first trip to Florida last March. We truely enjoyed the condo with the big screen t.v., huge movie selection and stocked kitchen! My daughter's especially loved the bunk beds! Being so close to the beach, restaurants and some shops was great. We didn't get to enjoy the lazy river because it was just way to cold but the girls enjoyed the hot tub and some swimming. Definitely coming back! Thank you for allowing us to rent your condo Lori!

Fun Times in Florida!

We truly enjoyed this condo. During our stay of 5 days, we could have never left the complex. Our three sons enjoyed the lazy river, playing on the beach, and hunting for blue crabs in the bay. Restaurants were within walking distance, as were a couple shops. This was a clean and hospitable place to vacation and would recommend it to those seeking fun in the Florida panhandle!

We highly recommend this condo! It is nicely decorated, clean and TONS OF FUN!!! Love the big TV and movie collection! The kitchen is stocked with all the necessities! The pool area/lazy river is the best in Florida!!! We have stayed here twice and plan to go back!!!

We stayed at the condo from March 24 through March 31, 2007. The condo was awesome. The lazy river, hot tubs, pools and the ocean keep my kids busy the entire week. It was very relaxing and looking forward to coming back soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We rented the condo for a girl's weekend/bachelorette party and it was PERFECT! We loved it! The condo had all of the amenities of home and more. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything that we needed. The view of the lazy river at night was awesome. We also thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and got in the lazy river even though it wasn't heated! The weather was perfect for January- highs were in the low to mid 70's. I'll definately book this condo again. Thanks Lori for everything!

We loved the condo! You all thought of everything, we had a great time. My children are 11 & 13 and loved the lazy river, I even had to get in and I never get in a pool. We would really love to stay in your condo again. Lori you were great to work with and provided us with all the information we needed. The book with shopping,restuarants and everything to do was great. I could go on and on but will stop by saying....thank you so much for sharing your condo with us. We loved it.

We are very pleased at the clean, and well equipped condo. The Lazy river was being repaired so we could not use it. They are planning to put a walk-way over the busy highway, that will be a big asset to going across to the beach. We would stay in this area again and hope this condo will be available.

The condo was awesome! Very clean and tons of extras. The pools were fantastic. We floated on the lazy river so much and for so long that we became dizzy! (only kidding!) Plenty to do at the resort, even with a busy two year old. Also, a lot of great activities for families in the area. We definitely want to vacation at Destin West #404 again!

We had a great time at the beach and the condo was wonderful. You've dressed the place up nicely with all the amentities of home. The lazy river was a big hit! Our kids went around and around as we stayed close to the hot tubs. I look forward to the completion of the bridge in the near future. That will make it much easier to access the beach.

THE CONDO WAS GREAT, WITH LOTS OF EXTRA NICE STUFF. THE VIEW OF THE LAZY RIVER AND POOLS WERE VERY PRETTY(ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT).WE REALLY UTILIZED THE INFO BOOK IN THE CONDO ON WHERE TO EAT AND SHOP.OUR FAVORITE WAS THE LAZY RIVER.WE ALSO VERY MUCH ENJOYED THE DVD MOVIES AND PLAYSTATION. It's been a couple of months since we stayed at Pelican #404, but as I was recommending it to some of our friends, I looked at the website again - and it reminded me how nice it was! This is probably the best furnished and equipped condo we've ever rented - all the comforts of home - with a great view. We loved everything about the condo and had a great time!

This was our first time in Destin and it was wonderful. The condo was beautiful and we loved the covered patio overlooking the pool and lazy river. LOVED the lazy river! I could have floated in it all day. The weather was perfect and the restaurants we're great. I was very impressed with the helpful information supplied and can't wait till we stay again. Next time it'll be for the full week! We'll refer all our friends to your condo.

We enjoyed our week in Fort Walton Beach. The weather was great and the fishing on the Okaloosa Pier was excellent. There are a great number of excellent restaurants in the area and it is a shoppers paradise. We especially enjoyed the view of the bay and the Lazy River from the deck of your condo. It is a beautiful unit with many extras. We enjoyed your condo very much and will stay with you again.
