We wish to thank you both for being such kind hosts. As usual, we fully enjoyed our stay in France at your Loire Valley chateau, and your Paris apartment. We ate lunch frequently at 3 Rue Rosiers which has good French food, and is very busy with locals. We also enjoyed Pierre Cardin's art nouveau museum at his Maxim's restaurant. We plan to visit your New Orleans unit this spring. Yours very respectfully, Wilbur and Annabelle Laguna Niguel, CA USA

The place is very clean and much of it is updated. The building is not updated at all. The issue I had with the place is that there is no one there to greet you and if something goes wrong you are kind of on your own. The WiFi did not work when we arrived, the "local" representative was not in Paris and he took me through various steps to trouble shoot the problem, not the way I wanted to spend my first day in Paris. The view over the courtyard is really pretty ugly and we had construction going on in the apartment above us from early in the morning until 6:00. The owner did not offer any concessions for the fact that we could not occupy the apartment in peace for a major part of the day. The bathroom is split and kind of funky, but functional.
Owner response:The guest was provided the keys in advance so he could let himself into the apartment without having to worry about meeting someone. Anyone who's had to worry about a plane being late understands that this is the preferred way of handling arrivals. He let himself in without any problem and after fifteen minutes with our rep on the phone the WIFI was reset. As for not enjoying the apartment in the middle of the day, he was out touring Paris. We know; we tried to call him. A complaint about noise that no other guest, the week before, or the week after, heard... so in other words, he wanted to be paid off or he'd write a negative review...

Thank you very much for all of your help and advice during our stay. It was very nice of you to drop off the keys at our hotel in Tours. We had a great time in Paris, and found the Rosiers apartment to be a wonderful base and haven in which to stay. Lyn M. Brighton Australia

We enjoyed the Rosiers suite very much. This suite along with the Cluny and Luxembourg suites located on Rue de l’École Polytechnique are in wonderful locations. I'm not quite sure which one we will choose for our next trip (probably not until 2013). The restaurant L'As du Falafel was as described, and terrific. I particularly enjoyed the man who walked up and down the lines collecting for the meal and, if anyone hesitated more than two seconds in ordering, he told them what they were going to eat. The patisserie/boulangerie at the corner of Rue des Rosiers and Rue des Ecouffes were superb. I got a kick out of the cashier, an older man, who beamed with genuine delight when I was able to pay with the exact amount of cash. We were indeed able to get tickets to La Bayadère at the Opéra Garnier by going to the box office as you suggested. For 10 € each we were seated in a box with a beautiful view of the stage. Problem was, we were in the third row which we had a perfect view of the backs of the heads of the people in front of us. There was a simple solution - we turned the chairs around and alternately knelt and stood, and thereby saw the entire ballet which was wonderful. Michael L. Boise, Idaho USA

Everything went well, and the Marais apartment was as advertised - all the pics and directions made sense. Your advice was very well taken too (e.g. put the suitcase in the closet). The flowers, leaving a light on, and the heater on very low made the arrival very easy and comfortable especially after a long flight. The cable tv was a god send as I made sure I was home in time to watch the inauguration! Paris in the winter was wonderful for me as I don't like the crowds (there are still plenty of tourists and people though, but much easier to get around to see what you want to see). The Rosiers apartment was ideally situated too, again as you said. I'll definitely recommend it to friends, and may even be back some day. Thanks again. Best, Rew I. Castro Valley, CA

We enjoyed our stay in the Rosiers Suite. We especially enjoyed exploring the Marais in more depth – as we've stayed in many arrondisement, but never the 4th. Very interesting. Thanks, Sally C. Sacramento, CA

Thank you for letting us share your wonderful Rosiers apartment. We enjoyed it very much and had a great visit to Paris. We did take a day trip to the Loire Valley, and it worked quite well. We used a service we found on the Internet called linkparis.com. They arranged train reservations to Tours where we met a van service at the Tourist Office that took us to four different castles and returned us to the train for the evening return to Paris. It is a little pricey, but was perfect for my granddaughter and me. Sincerely, Douglas W. Flat Rock, NC

We had a wonderful time in Paris, and the welcome and charm of the apartment added to this immeasurably. The fresh flowers were a lovely homey touch, and the cold Heineken in the fridge after a hot and stressful day were heaven sent. (We did replace them!) The apartment is perfectly located, and exploring the cobbled streets in the area was a favourite pastime. We tended to eat out at lunch as we were on the go and none of our food experiences were worth noting. We enjoyed coming home and relaxing with wine and dinner for a couple of hours, and then strolling in the long June evenings. We found the grocery store of the Bon Marché had a wonderful selection of delicious offerings for each course, and a quick reheat produced a very satisfying meal for us. Thank you for your attention to detail. Your information package about the apartment and area was extremely helpful and much appreciated. We did have trouble with the television and could only get the menu page at the end of the week although we tried to reset the freebox. We did not heed your advice and tried to use the airport shuttle service (Beeline in Frommer's). Thirty-five minutes after the appointed time (7:30 a.m. on Saturday so not the height of rush hour) they had still not arrived even after we phoned 3 times and they assured us they were on route and only minutes away. We ended up in a cab from in front of St. Paul metro and things went smoothly from there. (Cab was 40 euros, only 6 more euros than the shuttle, although we read that a cab would be much more.) Again, we thank you for your assistance. Yours truly, Anita J. Ontario, Canada

We had a fabulous time, and appreciate all of the thought that went into setting up the apartment up.... Had I known the extent of the guidebooks there, we wouldn't have bothered with the ones we brought! Paris is a wonderful city, and the Rosiers apartment is in a wonderful, lively area.... We will definitely contact you again when we plan a visit to France. Very best wishes, Beth and Bruce A. Palo Alto, CA

I must tell you that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Rue des Rosiers. Everything looked and worked as advertised. We even found the iron – it was under the kitchen sink. We are telling everyone we can that the only way to stay in Paris is in an apartment rented through you. Your concierge advice also proved to be very valuable. In particular, we got extensive use of our Orange Cards and found riding the buses an excellent way to get around Paris while seeing lots of sights. We are looking forward to returning to Paris in the near future. B. E. Alexandria, VA

We had a wonderful time in Paris, and the Rosiers Suite was a big part of that. It is lovely, comfortable, and in the most wonderful, exciting area. We really appreciated coming in and having the essentials provided (soap, coffee, tea, and staples, etc.) which allowed us to immediately settle in. The array of guide books also served us well to supplement what we had brought. You said to make ourselves at home, and you made it easy to do with all the information you gave us. Thanks again.
