We L-O-V-E-D this place! Lovely room, cute little kitchen and with lovely dishes, beautiful garden, cute little dog that the owners own if you need a dog fix while gone... Easy access to the subway & tram, lovely grocery store close by with lots of that yummy German bread. Owners treat you like family. A++.

My husband and I spent a wonderful week at this convenient location. We had an automobile but found out we really didn't need one. We were within walking distance to the train station, grocery store, shopping and our favorite stop the bakery. We arrived and had a gift basket waiting for us. The apartment was immaculate, roomy and beautiful. Our host and hostess supplied us with the inside scoop on places to go that were beyond the tourist spots. They were there when we needed anything but gave us complete privacy as well. We are highly recommending our friends and family stay here and when we return to Germany we will stay here again too.

My husband, adult son and I spent a delightful week in the Hubmann's cozy and charming home recently. Gabrielle greeted us warmly at the front door and oriented us to the loft apartment which includes one bedroom with high-quality linens and fluffy comforters; our son had a separate bedroom on the next floor above. The apartment was immaculately clean, tidy and very well furnished with much more than we could ever need; our hosts had literally thought of everything! The bathroom was spacious and modern with a large vanity/sink and a luxurious shower that provided endless hot water to relish after a long day touring all the sights. We loved the quiet, residential location: a mere 5-minute walk to the tram line or U-bahn station (we recommend the purchase of a multi-day partner ticket for the best transportation bargain). The neighborhood includes several restaurants, a full-line grocery store, 2 bakeries and 2 pharmacies. Our thoughtful hosts provided a notebook of helpful information which covered most questions and they were always eager and available to offer advice and recommend places of interest. Our only regret was that the early spring weather didn't afford us an opportunity to enjoy their large and lovely garden area; it would be a special delight in just another month! A week in this beautiful part of Germany is simply not enough but we will return soon for a longer visit now that we've found our lovely home-away-from-home with the Hubmanns. Thank you, Gabrielle and Josef, for a week to remember always!

We stayed for a week in this very convenient location. The hosts were very helpful. The apartments are immaculate and well equipped and they expect guests to be very considerate. We loved our stay in Munich. We did not have a car. The apartment is 3 blocks from the tram and u-bahn lines as well as a market, cafe and bakery. In nice weather you can walk along a park by the apartments and even walk all the way into central Munich. We used the s and u-bahn from the airport to the apartment and it was easy and convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

Though only in Munich for two nights, we booked a stay at these apartments based totally on VRBO ratings and were not disappointed. The apartments are in a lovely suburb of Munich with just a short subway ride into the city center. We were greeted by Gabi who showed us to our apartment ( 1 of 3 or 4) upstairs. While there are house rules, you can easily understand why guests need to be respectful of them. Their entire home is gorgeous, clean, extremely well appointed with lovely yard and gardens. If you are looking for a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of the city, look no further! Charming accommodations and we hope to visit again.

If you don't mind strict rules forced on you like - strictly no shoes inside the house - suitcase rollers have to be wiped before brought indoors - all bags have to be carried in your hand, not on back or shoulder - men have to use the toilet sitting down at all times, you will like this property. What you get is your designated shoe mat and an immaculately clean and well equipped apartment in a quiet location close to public transport. Mind you, the towels were a bit on the thin side.
Owner response:Our guests loving cleanness and well organized accommodation not only accept, but even appreciate some rules in order to keep the house and the apartments neat and in order, also for guests in future. It is our desire to be able to always offer a proper and cosy home for our clients. Josef & Gabriele

You can see many reviews here and they reflect how we felt. We have been here 11 days. I have been using VRBO for quite a few years, and hands down, the Hubbmans are the best. Great facility, great location... and hey it's Munich! Wouldn't even think of going elsewhere next time.

These apartments are located at the end of a quiet cul de sac very close to the U-Bahn, a full service grocery story, several bakeries and a variety of restaurants if you wish to stay in walking distance. It is very easy to get around the city from here-- just four stops to the central station. The back yard garden area is lovely and peaceful. And the hosts are gracious and very helpful who do indeed take a personal interest in you. They inquired about our itinerary and made several suggestions that were most helpful in improving it and even making it less costly! Their lodgings were exactly what our family (two adults, two teenage sons) needed for our week stay and the price was very reasonable. If we get to return, we will certainly check the availability of these lodgings first!

I stayed with Gabi & Josef for over a month during my transition to life & work in Munich (job relocation). Initially, I chose Hubmann Guesthouse mainly due to location(transport, city centre, etc). That alone justified my choice (ticks all the boxes - close, clean, convenient, charming), but Gabi & Josef offer more than just above - may help to read on... For me, among all the inevitable change & unknown challenges that come with relocation, the Hubmann's represented stability & comfort to my "home-life" - by accommodating my unique needs quickly, without fuss. They did this while allowing me the privacy & space required to "recharge my batteries" and ease into life here in Munich at my own pace. No doubt, you will read similar references from other guests, but that should not surprise you - they are real, sincere, lovely people who care about their property & the people who stay over... I stayed here one week in late October, 2010, along with a friend's teenage daughter. Yes, there were rules, but nothing that was a major inconvenience, and I think the rules served to enhance the overall experience of cleanliness and comfort. We arrived on a Sunday, so we were not able to get any breakfast supplies in from the local store. Not to worry, however, as the owner came up with enough food to see us through that first morning. Very considerate, and greatly appreciated. The apartment was perfect for our needs, with the 2 of us alternating between use of the bedroom and the sleeper in the living area. The kitchen was perfect for our limited usage, and I was very impressed by the German recycling system! The shower always had hot water, and I found the sign about the positioning for men while using the toilet to be amusing, if not downright sensible. Everything was within easy walking distance, and very close to all forms of transport into the city proper. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. We really couldn't have asked for better. I would highly recommend.

We would like to recommend the Hubmann Apartments to anyone traveling in and around the Munich, Germany area. They are conveniently located to the subway and bus lines and are set in a picturesque and quiet neighborhood. Mr. & Mrs. Hubmann are the perfect hosts and went out of their way to ensure that our stay was absolutely perfect in every way. They were quick to give directions, translate and advise us as to the ins and out of Germany. All the apartments are perfectly appointed and so comfortable with every detail attended too. All in all we had a perfect stay at the Hubmann Apartments and would recommend them to anyone traveling in the Munich area. Danke Herr & Frau Hubmann!
Owner response:Deb & Mark, thank you very much for your kind words! We are happy to see, that you enjoyed your stay, and felt well in Munich and with us. We thank you for being our guests. It was also a great pleasure for us to have met you! wishing you all the best, greetings from Munich, Josef & Gabriele

We stayed here for 4 nights (Sept 20-24), and it was great! Everything was as described in the listing as well - clean and quiet! The place was fairly easy to locate after getting off the Tram. You have the option of Tram or U-Bahn in a very short walk. A grocery store, bakery and pharmacy is right by the Tram and U-Bahn so it was easy to stock up for our room. Gabi was very accommodating and helpful. We couldn't have asked for a better and more gracious host! The room was very spacious for the two of us, and it was nice to return here after very busy days of sightseeing and the Oktoberfest. Thanks Gabi! If we are fortunate enough to return to Munich, we'll be staying at your place!!

Our stay at the Hubmann's was great. Wonderful place to stay with our 20 year old daughter. She had her own room up the stairs from where we stayed. The apartment was very clean and walking distance to the grocery, pharmacy, restaurants and subway. Very convenient and easy for us to get around being from the USA and 1st time in Germany. The Hubmanns were very gacious and helpful to make our stay in Germamy one to remember. Beautiful garden, bikes, which I wished we could have rode, not enough time...... A very enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend staying here. It was quiet, peaceful and away from the business of city life. Would love to go back.......Auf Wiedersehen. Mary, Mark and Anna Lanners Minnesota, USA

Our apartment was accurately represented on the web site. It was spacious and very clean, and the garden was an especially attractive feature. The hosts were friendly and helpful. I wasn't driving and they told me just how to get the ISAR pass, which saved us quite a bit on the undergrounds and trams. A grocery, some bakeries, and a cafe were very convenient, as well as an ATM. There are no tourist-type restaurants in the neighborhood, so when we wanted that we just took the underground. There is a variety of neighborhood restaurants nearby. The weather was very warm during our stay, which slowed us down a lot, but the apartment and garden were always comfortable. There are a lot of interesting things to see and do in Munich, and this apartment was a good place to start our daily adventures, while avoiding the noise of a central city residence. Thank you for a very pleasant stay.

Our stay with the Hubmanns was excellent. The listing was accurately described. The unit was well-maintained since the Hubmanns live there. They were always available for helpful ideas and information. The unit was a little off the beaten path, but that made it very quiet. It was very convenient to public transportation, and Munich has relatively inexpensive family rates to use. It was tough to visit all the biergartens in town, but we got to see several of them. A major plus for this property is the beautiful garden at the property for a coffee or glass of wine outside. We would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative.

My husband and I stayed in the charming studio aparment at the Hubmann's in early May 2010. It was spotless, comfortable, and overlooked an exquisite yard with flowers and trees and a hike/bike trail. The bed was big and comfortable, the decor bright and cheery (light blue and white). The Hubmann's were gracious, unobtrusive hosts; Mrs. H. made us a fresh juice drink on arriving and Mr. H steered us to a one of a kind market that we would have missed without his 'heads up'. We were able to access the UBahn four blocks away and could get anywhere in town in about 10 or 15 minutes. Everything in the apartment worked perfectly and the Hubmann's even brought me an electric fan, as I tend to overheat even in cool weather. We are soooo looking forward to returning.

After staying at the Hubmann home November 2009 I realize my comments will only confirm what is already written. Gabi is a very gracious host and welcomes you with professionalism and warmth. The flats (we rented a one bedroom and a studio) were spotless and decorated with comfort in mind. The interior of the flats as well as the common areas were very inviting. The garden is lovely and the walking trail behind the home is fantastic. The location is a quiet residential neighborhood but is still convenient to the city center with an U-Bahn stop around the corner. We will be happy to stay at the Hubmann home during our next visit to Munich.

Excellent home - a place to go for quiet and warmth while enjoying Munich's interesting life (sports, leisure, artistic cultural events, rest, etc.). The owners are very welcoming but you must respect the house rules (cleanliness, being careful about furniture and details). It is definitely a cozy place but not a place to BOOM! If not well-behaved please abstain. It is a place where you may think to come back years after years for the tradition and the family atmosphere while there is an overall discreteness for all guest and amongst guests.

We had a delightful stay at the Hubmann's Charming & Roomy & Centrally located apartments! We were there for a week 9/22/09-9/29/09. Josef & Gabi were so helpful and made our stay so enjoyable. The apartments are close to the public transportation and getting into Munich was quick and easy. We rode the subway into the city for Octoberfest. Each day it was great to take the short ride out to the peaceful neighborhood and the comfortable apartment. Two grocery stores are a couple of blocks away, a cafe shop, and restaurants. We highly recommend these accommodations and will be going back.

We visited the Hubmann Apartments during the Oktoberfest. It is a fast commute, just a 5 min walk to the train, around the corner from a market, so it's very convenient. The apartment was very quiet, clean and in a safe area. I like that everyone had to leave their shoes at the door and wear slippers about, kept the areas clean & quiet!!! Gabrielle explained everything about the apt. and was helpful in giving us advice about Munich and the train tickets. I would definitely recommend.

The Hubmanns are gracious hosts and the apartment was wonderful. We used this apartment as our base to travel to Austria , Bavarian castles and Munich including of course the infamous Hofbrauhaus. When we arrived Gabrielle and Josepf welcomed us, Gabrielle even brought us a small welcoming diner of bratwurst. What a great place to stay! The apartment is also very close to Ubahn and the Hubmanns recommended some great restaurants in walking distance.

We have stayed at these guest apartments on three separate occasions, once for as long as 10 weeks. There are five apartments in a large home also occupied by the owners, the Hubmanns. The rooms vary in size but are comfortable, fairly spacious and spotless. The Hubmanns clean the apartments constantly during each guest's stay. The home is quite near a Munich U-Bahn stop in a nice, quiet section of Munich and is not too far from Munich's excellent zoo. A bike trail passes right behind the house (free bikes are available to guests); it also passes a beer garden a short distance away. There is a large back yard with a glassed-in gazebo; guests are free to use the yard and its gardens at any time. The Hubmanns are a warm and friendly couple. They speak a considerable amount of English, especially Josef, and add significantly to the pleasant ambiance of the place. The rates are FAR below equivalent hotel rates and the rooms much larger than hotel rooms. Since Munich is so centrally located in Europe, this is a great place to use as one's headquarters while making short trips in all directions. We have used the Hubmann's place this way on all of our visits.

The apt. is beautiful and spotless as well as a perfect location for the U-Bahn and trams and walking to the village. Their gardens are wonderful and open on to the hiking and bike trail. Gabrielle's added touch on Sunday morning (apple struddel) was certainly a plus. We hope to stay there again in the future.

In a nice, quiet residential area not far from the Altstadt. We felt safe walking around in the day and in the evening. A car isn't necessary since the U-Bahn and Tram (trolley) were only about 2-3 blocks away, as well as bakeries, grocery, pharmacy, etc. Joseph and Gabriele were super! We recently spent two weeks in one of the Hubmann’s apartments. This was our second stay with them. The apartments are spotlessly clean, comfortable, well equipped, quiet and very convenient. You are only a few minutes walk to the U-Bahn and trams, grocery, bank and druggists. The Hubmanns have a beautiful garden with comfortable chairs and a small glass house with table and chairs to use on cool days. There is a paved hiking and biking path in front of the house for enjoyable walks. One path leads to the fabulous zoo. Josef and Gabrielle Hubmann are delightful and helpful hosts. I had an injury while we were staying there and while recovering I enjoyed sitting in their garden and reading some of the many books in English they had for their guests. We have stayed in many apartments on vacations to Europe and this is one of the very best. We highly recommend staying with the Hubmanns—you won’t be disappointed.

I just completed a three-week stay at the Hubmann's guesthouse. It is a delightful place with the best hosts a guest could hope for. The apts. are spacious, beautifully furnished and kept, and an easy trip by U-Bahn to all parts of Munich. The station is just a 2 minute walk, as are places to buy groceries, toiletries, and medicines; there are a number of nice restaurants, biergartens and cafes in the same area. All this makes it an especially good choice if you're in Munich for several weeks (not too mention a very nice discount that makes this a great bargain). If you're looking for a place in the southeastern district of Munich, this is it. Thanks Josef and Gabrielle!

My husband and our adult daughters stayed at the Hubmann's for a week during Oktoberfest. What a great place! They own a beautiful building. We had two, one bedroom apartments and they were both very comfortable, well furnished and clean. None of us wanted to leave. The street is a deadend and very quite. The other apartment buildings on this short street are also attractive and not over three stories and are also nice. It is a good neighborhood. There is great shopping very close - pharmacy, two bakeries, grocery store, variety store, bookstore and a deli. We ate at two restaurants and they were both within 10-15 minute walk. There are two nice townie pubs. The subway and the street car stop are both only about an eight minute walk. Althought you do not need a car, there is a Eurocar rental location about a 15 minute walk away. Mr. and Mrs. Hubmann are helpful, friendly and very classy people. We hope to stay with them again!

HUBMANN PHONED THE AIRLINES AND AFTER MUCH CONVERSATION IN GERMAN SHE HANDED ME THE PHONE SYAING "IT IS NOW LOCATED". SHE DID IN 5 MINUTES WHAT WE HAS BEEN TRYING TO DO FOR 3 WEEKS. THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD IS QUIET AND ONLY 8 MINUTES FROM THE CENTER OF MUNICH BY SUBWAY. THE HUBMANN'S ARE LOVELY HELPFUL PEOPLE THAT MAKE YOU FEEL AT HOME. The Hubmann's house is one of the best memories from our summer holidays 2007, and a good recommendation to any one wants to go to Munich. The apartment is perfect, everything you can need is there, this is the better equipped apartment we have never seen (and we have travel quite a lot!), from coffee to a shopping bag, everything is there. The apartment made you feel at home, warm decoration and very clean and well organize. In the house you have the feeling that you are out site, in the country with a lovely garden, very calm and relaxing but …only few subways stops and you are in the centre of Munich.

gabi and joseph are eager to share places to go in munich. our fondest memories are riding bikes along the ridge to happy beer gardens. the garden and glass house in the back (front) of the house are pleasant for a glass of wine and game of cards or just reading books. we were sad to leave.

We stayed at the Hubmann's for Christmas 2005 and liked them and their apartments so well that we stayed there again for Christmas 2006. The building is well maintained, the apartments are clean, nicely decorated, the neighbor is safe and quiet, and U bahn is only a couple of blocks away. On this last trip we had to stay two days in a hotel before we could get into the Hubmann's house. The hotel was noisy, the room small, and the neighborhood not so good....and that cost almost the same per night as the Hubmann's! Their accommodations are very good value. I highly recommend them and you will not be disappointed.

We stayed at this delightful acomodation in october 2006.After travellig through europe this was by far our best accomodation experience. The suburb is nice and leafy and a few stations into Munich city.I have never seen an apartment that has all that is needed down to the spices for cooking.Josef and Gabi are great hosts and very helpful.Astroll along the river at the back of the property is a must. I do not hesitate to recommend them to anyone

We stayed in November 2006. Wonderful apartment - very clean and well furnished. Very friendly hosts. Five minutes walk to u-bann with direct line to central railway station. We have stayed in apartments throughout Europe and this is among the best! Full recommendation from us.

Our family stayed with the Hubmanns in July 2006. We were greeted with incredible warmth and hospitality. Our two daughters (6&9) loved their dog, and Frau Hubmann even sent them off on our last day with bags of gummy bears. Lovely apartment in a wonderful part of the city. Couldn't have been nicer. We'd recommend this to anyone.

Stayed with the Hubmann's for 30 days during April & May 2006. They are extemely gracious hosts that made our family feel right at home - they treat you like family! Very nice location in the Giesing area of Munich - very close to both the Tram and U-bahn. I would be more than glad to answer any questions about their properties and / or how to make your stay more enjoyable while you're there. Trust me when I tell you that after staying there for thirty days we learned a lot of things that will help you out. Also, when we return to Munich we will be staying with the Hubmann's again. Enjoy your stay in Munich!

We have stayed with the Hubmanns twice and would not hesitate to return. Our visits were in 2003 and '05. The apartments are very comfortable with everything you might need. THe apts are on a beautiful bike path-you could ride all the way up to the Deutches Museum . The location is residential-close to the subway-you are at the main train station in a few stops. The Hubmanns are generous with information but not intrusive. The apt is quiet and immaculate. THe perfect place to relax after a day of walking, sightseeing or work. A very pleasant change from a hotel.

We have now stayed with the Hubmanns for 2 visits. We changed our dates for our 2nd trip so that they would have an apt for us. If you want something other than a hotel experience, this is the place. You stay in a quiet lovely neighborhood but the center of the city is just 4 subway stops away. You can be there in minutes. The neighborhood has shopping just a short walk from the apt. No need for a car. The apts are very comfortable, quiet. I hope that we can return for a 3rd visit. I am happy to answer any questions if you wonder if this place is right for you. Judy Schwarz

My client Anne-Marie ... stayed at your apartment last year and recommended it whole-heartedly. I hope that you might have availability for one of my other clients, Christopher ..., who will also be singing at the Opera.
