During the early evening, you can view the pink clouds of the sunset over the mountains. The morning brings a vibrant sunrise you can view from your private deck.
This house is located in a secluded area that affords complete privacy. The property and surrounding area have the feel of Old Hawaii and appear to have stood still in time. Tall trees sway in the breeze, as you stroll the beach across the narrow country road. The main front deck allows you a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and the majestic mountains and valley as your backyard.

We enjoyed 7 nights at the Puhala vacation home. We often vacation with our best friends and this was to be a wonderful trip. With our a 5 kids (ages 10 to 21) and their 6 kids (ages 12 to 21) we aren't easily accommodated. This house was awesome! It is everything the description showed. The hiking was indeed the best perk. Arish was very gracious and helpful. We so enjoyed our stay at Puhala and would recommend this property to others. We enjoyed the North Shore and the Kuluha Ranch sunset dinner.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

My Fiance and I reside in Honolulu, Hawaii and we rented the Puhala home out in Ka'a'awa, Hawaii from Thursday, 7/16/2010 thru Monday, 7/19/2010. We were getting married at one of the Kualoa Ranch's private properties called Moli'i Gardens on 7/17/2010 and the Puhala home was less than a 5 minute drive away. This was a perfect place, because we got to do the following: Friday, 7/16/2010 - We held our after rehearsal barbeque for the entourage at the Puhala home. Saturday, 7/17/2010 - Female entourage got ready on the top portion of the home and the male entourage got ready on the bottom portion of the home. It worked out perfectly! Sunday, 7/18/2010 - We went for a hike on the trail where they filmed a bunch of movies and spent the entire day enjoying the Puhala home. Monday, 7/19/2010 - Back to reality... had to say our good-bye's to this beautiful home. The bottom portion of the house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It has a living room, eating area, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 car garage with a washer and dryer, and small two porches. There is one TV which is located in the living room. Not to mention, the land surrounding the property is huge! It's cutely updated and modern looking. The upper portion of the house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It has a living room, eating area and a fully equipped kitchen, internet connection, two lanai's (one facing the ocean and one facing the mountains), and an immaculate loft on the 3rd floor overlooking the ocean. There's a small TV in the master bedroom and large flat screen TV up in the loft. The upper portion definitely needs some updating. However, the immaculate views of the mountains really make up for it. Pros: The immaculate view of the mountains, seeing the two horses near the backyard, the upper portion back lanai, and the fact that this house can hold 10-14 people comfortably. Cons: It was hard getting out onto the highway, because the bushes were obstructing our view of the oncoming traffic when pulling out of the home. We hope that they can trim the bushes further in for future renters. The listing was accurate regarding the location. The photos accurately reflect the rental's appearance and amenities. The property was clean and maintained. The agent, Arish was wonderful in answering any questions or concerns. All in all, our guests were amazed at the property and so were we.

Our family stayed at Hale Kaaawa for six nights. The house is exactly as described on the web and the pictures of the units are very accurate. Pictures of the view from the house don't do much justice here. The views are breathtaking in REAL LIFE!!! Awesome view of the tall picturesque mountains from the back balcony, the undisturbed ocean view from the kitchen window (the front of the house). You can snorkel, swim, and boogie board in front of the house (water's not too deep but you have to wear water shoes) and go hiking to the famous Kualoa Ranch for free with a pass (the best perk!). The location was great, the view was even better! Far from the city but if you are not a big fan of Waikiki, this is the place!! The property manager was great and helpful!
