Nestled just 14 miles outside of Beaufort, Harbor Island is truly a quaint little island paradise. It boasts the most incredible three miles of pristine white beaches that are surrounded by lush lowcountry vegetation. Our seaside cottage captures the breathtaking panoramic views of the landscape, as well as, the abundant wildlife that frolic about the island.
This home is decorated in a "pottery barn" motif with a splash of color and summer fun. The great room has a two story vaulted ceiling with skylights that allow the sunbeams to dance across the Italian travertine tile below. This family area is furnished with oversized couches (sleepers) and chairs to allow for comfortable and relaxing evenings. The "surf's up" game room joins the family room and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. It has numerous books and magazines for all interest; puzzles, cards, and games for a night of fun.
The master suite encompasses one-third of the total square footage of the house. This stunning area is set off by a beautiful king-size bed dressed in exquisite linens. The spa/jacuzzi tub area is spilling over with romance. Candles and lush greenery surround the tub as you meditate to the gentle lapping sounds of the ocean waves. The second bedroom is setup with a queen-size bed that overlooks the english garden below. The third bedroom has built-in bunks just perfect for kids!
The light and airy kitchen is equipt with all the amenities of home. The sub-zero refrigerator and Jenn-Aire stove-top make cooking a breeze. The dining table allows you to watch the sunrise each morning and sip on a cup of coffee as a parade of shrimp boats pass by out to sea. Off the front of the house is a large deck perfect to lounge around on and capture the sunkist look or grill up the fresh catch of the day. As you venture outside; you will be amazed at how close you are to the earth. This is the closest house to the water on the island. There is no need to pack up beach toys and chairs, they are just steps away from the house. A bathroom, as well as, two heated showers are also at your doorstep.
Harbor Island Beach is ideal for children the gentle surf and tide pools allow enjoyment for all ages. You can take in surfing, shrimping, fishing, and dolphin watching without ever leaving this vacation paradise. For the more active type, the beach and the racquet club is a skip away and offers a beautiful large pool directly on the marsh. It is a nature lover's paradise with a protected egret sanctuary and a huge protected osprey nest. It also offers a baby pool,a volleyball court, a kid's playground, a gift/ice cream shop, tennis court, and a indoor fitness center. Just minutes away is Hunting Island State Park and abundant amount of rivers and creeks that offer excellent opportunities for additional boating and fun. |
