The apartment is situated one block from the place des Vosges. It is in the heart of the oldest, and most historic part of the Marais, which has some of the most beautiful surviving 17th and 18th century buildings in Paris. These include the Hôtel de Soubise, the Hôtel de Sens, the Hôtel de Rohan, the Hôtel de Sully, the Hôtel de St. Aignan and the Hôtel Salé.
