#5 Scallop Court on Harbor Island. This is our little slice of heaven and you will adore it! Our beautiful, light yellow beach house is located on peaceful, secluded Harbor Island. Three and a half miles of pristine, white sand beach. Peaceful, undeveloped, no through traffic in a safe, gated community with great family atmosphere. The Beach and Racquet Club has an adult pool, baby pool (18" deep), playground, exercise facility, beach volleyball court and tennis courts. There is absolutely NO COMMERCIALISM HERE ON HARBOR! If you don't like quiet, quaint places with interesting wildlife and down to earth people - this is not the place for you.
Views of the ocean and St. Helena Sound from both decks, kitchen and master bedroom. Our home has an open plan living/dining room and kitchen, decks and rocking chairs on two floors, open, airy and bright! Master Bedroom with en-suite bath, second Queen-size room, and third room with bunkbeds for four. Perfect for two families vacationing together or one family that wants to spread out. We have a ping pong table for your entertainment, and a wagon to bring all of your gear to the beach. The house is 200 yards from the beach - under a two minute walk! And YES WE DO HAVE AN OCEAN VIEW.
House is very clean and is constantly updated. Brand new wood floors have just been installed and we have Broadband Internet with Wi-Fi home network - catch up with work e-mail (if you can bear it!!) from the deck overlooking the ocean. Use of golf cart to cruise the island like a local. THIS IS MANAGED DIRECTLY BY THE US....THE OWNERS!! THESE ARE PICTURES WE HAVE TAKEN OF OUR HOME AND THE ISLAND. THEY ARE THE ACTUAL VIEWS OF THE OCEAN FROM THE HOUSE, AND THEY ARE THE BEDROOMS, KITCHEN, LIVING AND DINING ROOMS. Why the Owner Chose Harbor Island
We chose to buy a house on Harbor Island because it was one of the few places we have been on the east coast that isn't commercially developed. The sense of being away from it all definitely hits us whenever we arrive. We enjoy having cocktails on our porch while sitting on the rocking chairs and chatting with our lovely neighbors.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We love the miles of beach and the amazing wildlife. The spring is a special time to watch birds in full plumage, and the summer always brings back the turtles. My mom and our great friend from England watched hatchlings head for the sea one August morning, and they found it to be an incredibly moving experience. We also love the fall and winter for the warmth and sunshine. Our children adore riding the golf cart to the beach club to play on the swing set or to swim in the pools. We love to play tennis too, so we always bring our rackets! You can also find us in Beaufort taking our friends on the horse drawn carriage tours of historic Beaufort, or dining at the great restaurants there. Our favorites places to go are Saltus River Grill, Plums, and The Beaufort Inn. When we want to go for a very casual meal with our children, we love to swing by the JCT which is very close to Harbor Island as is the Shrimp Shack. Giles swears by the shrimp burger at the JCT!
Yellow Beach House just steps from the ocean and wonderfully relaxing!

Hi! Our names are Jill and Giles. We have owned our home on Harbor Island since 2005. We find that our life can really become hectic, but when we get to Beaufort we truly relax. The people are wonderfully nice, and the pace of life is fabulous. We always miss our lovely home the minute we leave it!

A Wonderful Week at The Yellow Beach House!!

Our family recently spent a week at The Yellow Beach House on Harbor Island. When we arrived, we found the house to be very clean and nicely furnished. The newly installed beautiful hardwood floors immediately caught our attention. We loved the openness of the living/dining room area. We felt immediately at home! The views from the porch were pretty. Getting to the beach was a simple walk and going to the pool was made easy by the golf cart access. Harbor Island truly proved to be family-friendly as we rode our bikes, took walks, and watched various birds and other wildlife in addition to our sand castle building, kayaking, and playing in the surf.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

We had a great time on Harbor Island. The Yellow Beach House is clean, comfortable, well supplied, and a five minute walk to the beach. We enjoyed the red wagon, the lady bug kite and the sand castle toys for our beach time. The golf cart is perfect for fresh-air motoring to the community pool. Eight sea turtles nested in the dunes during our visit. We definitely want to come back, and will rent the Yellow Beach House again!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

"We absolutely loved the Yellow Beach House! Harbour Island is a well kept secret, a little peace of heaven! You can watch the shrimp boats, dolphins and beautiful sunsets from the porch. Miles of beach, birds & turtle nests too".
