Most attractions can be easily reached on foot, but if you wish to explore further, the metro, trams and a taxi stand are just around the corner and trains to Sintra and Cascais at short walking distances. You will be in the vicinity of well-known monuments, beautiful ancient churches, old cafés, theatres, shops and restaurants and still be able to continuously enjoy the local atmosphere during your stay, through the big windows overlooking the city.

The apartment is located in Rua do Carmo, just in front of the exquisite Lisboa Regency Chiado Hotel. Both buildings share the same architectural quality and were reconstructed in 1996 respecting their original 18th century style architecture under the supervision of the famous architect Alvaro Siza. Rua do Carmo is a prestigious pedestrian street hosting some of the most important Lisbon attractions, like the famous Santa Justa iron lift designed by an Eiffel follower in neo-gothic style and rated with three Michelin stars.
Chiado is considered by most ‘lisboetas' to be the most beautiful and glamorous area of the city, unique for its atmosphere and always a meeting point for locals and visitors with its beautiful churches, theatres, opera, cafés and shops coexisting with top fashion boutiques and art galleries. It remains one of the most fashionable (and expensive) places to live in Lisbon.
This is a unique location in Lisbon for its beauty, as well as its historic and cultural background. You will be able to enjoy the sun coming in each morning from behind the Castle, strolling up R. Garret or down to Rossio, walking at night to the opera or some restaurant in Bairro Alto as well as staying at home enjoying the view, the blue sky and the fresh and airy feel of the white stone floor and high ceilings. Our guests find different attractions to the apartment, although all adore the location, view, sense of space and light as well as to hang out the windows and enjoy the “living theatre” of Rua do Carmo.

To be honest, one main reason why we rent this apartment for short stays is because we like to go back there sometimes.

Apartment located at the 4th floor with 2 elevators and double pane windows. Spacious and sunny living and dining rooms south oriented with four big windows with view to the old town, castle and river Tejo. Comfortable, quiet and light bedrooms with big windows, nice solid beds and big closets. Extra bed linen and towels available. Iron and iron board available. The bathroom is spacious and very functional. Basic supplies of toilet paper and soap. Fully equipped kitchen with basic supplies of, at least, coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, olive oil, vinegar, herbs, napkins and washing powder.
Supermarket only 100 mt away open 7 days a week.
For helping you to get the most from your visit to Lisbon we will offer you a copy of our 'Personal Guide to Lisboa' with suggestions for sightseeing, restaurants, fado houses, cafes and terraces, nightlife, shops, children programs, music, wine brands, etc. For your enjoyment at home we selected Portuguese music and fado CDs, DVDs of popular movies, books and provide copies of most guide books to Lisbon and Portugal. Cable TV with more than 40 channels, including several english speaking.
Baby bed, highchair, toys box and other child facilities can be provided on request at no extra charge.
The price for two days will have to be paid immediately via pay pal, credit card or bank transfer and the remaining will have to be paid one month prior to arrival. The price for reservations less than one month in advance will have to be paid immediately in full.
We shall refund all funds received, less a 100 euros expenses fee, if a cancellation occurs more than 3 months before the arrival date but will only refund the value of the re-rented dates, less a 100 euros expenses fee, if the cancellation occurs less than 3 months before the arrival date.
Check in after 4pm and check out before 10am. We will however try to allow other arrangements, according to your needs, whenever possible. If you cannot get in immediately on arrival or have to leave sometime before your convenience, it will normally be possible to leave your luggage in the apartment for a couple of hours. |
