Excellent views, very good house. We enjoyed it. Right on the ocean and roads private location. House is well equipped. Only 2 small complaints are that we thought it strange to find we were required to wash our own sheets, pillowcases and towels, etc. for 3 bedrooms, with one washer in the basement and 10 AM checkout time. Also the picture windows were dirty on the outside (maybe salt spray, but stayed clean after I cleaned them myself) and screens were very dirty. Everything else was quite nice.
Owner response:We enjoy providing a "five star" accommodation for our guests. The above review cites 2 "small complaints" that were never expressed to us: 1. Getting used linens into the laundry before departure - This guest was not required to adhere to a 10am check-out, as was stated in the above review. He actually was advised by us that "As we do not have guests arriving on the Sunday of your departure, you may check-out that day at your convenience." 2. Dirty windows from salt spray - When contacted after arrival to ascertain if all was well, the guest replied "All's fine." While we truly regret that this guest was not 100% happy, we continue to work toward that goal for all of our guests.

It is with pleasure that I write this review as special thanks to Linda for a wonderful vacation experienced by me, my 82-year old mother, sister and 16-year old niece. This was our first experience renting a home and initially it felt risky especially for my mom who was skeptical about sending money for something unseen and to someone unknown. Once the connection was made with Linda the risk disappeared instantly. She was attentive to every enquiry we made and patiently answered all our questions and alleviated our concerns. On August 13th, we loaded up my mom's old Buick and set out from our Ontario, Canada homes and drove over 11 hours hoping that at the end of our journey the pictures on line would be exactly as shown. To our delight, the house and location were far better than pictures could possibly depict!! We found the house to be equipped with everything we needed and then some. Each room was immaculately kept and it was clear on arrival that we were most welcome including a message found on the refrigerator from Linda wishing us a pleasant stay. The bathrooms had the toiletries typically found in a quality hotel and Linda had left a little basket of snacks for us on the kitchen counter. And of course there is the view, which is much too wonderful to describe in this email. Each evening after driving about shopping and enjoying the many things to do locally, we would find ourselves relaxing with wine in hand as the waves crashed within feet of our back yard paradise. It could not have been more perfect! Best of all was the birthday dinner we barbequed and ate outside over the covered dining area for my mom. It rained that evening, but the weather did not dampen those priceless moments which I suspect will be long remembered by us particularly my niece. I would have no hesitancy in recommending Linda’s home and in fact have done so to some of my Canadian friends and co-workers. Thanks a bunch Linda for your 5-star hospitality and home!! Your new Canadian friends, Betty, Cathy, Meredith and Marion Kitchener and Oakville, Ontario, Canada

My husband and I were celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary (July 26, 2011). We were married in front of the Nubble Lighthouse. So we were thrilled to wake up every morning with a view of the Nubble Lighthouse in the distance. We loved the ocean sounds 24/7. My mom, stepfather, sister, brother-in-law, and niece were with us. My mom celebrated her 76th birthday (July 28, 2011). We also loved the location- close to Perkins Cove and close to York. We did not have to pack up each day to go to the beach- we just stepped out onto the patio. Would recommend this oceanfront home to EVERYONE!

This was our family’s first stay at OceanEdge and we are already planning for next year. The home is absolutely beautiful and the ocean views are breathtaking. Linda is the nicest and most helpful owner. She extended the warmest welcome to us and was extremely gracious in helping us with suggestions and thoughtful touches in this wonderful home. We took hundreds of photographs of the ocean – all from the house and patio. On a practical side, this beautiful home is very clean, efficiently laid out, spacious, beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything you might need. This is the perfect vacation spot!
Owner response:Thank you, Lynn. We strive to provide the very best possible accommodation for our guests, and it's nice to know we are succeeding! Linda

This is our 5th or 6th visit to this beautiful house and each time is better then the one before! I don't think we can find a time of year that doesn't take your breath away! We start out the day at sunrise thinking we will just sit in the chairs and watch the sun come up, or maybe tide come in a little more, and before we know it half of the day has gone by and we are relaxed and refreshed! The we get up, get dressed and go out and do some sight seeing or exploring. And enjoy a great seafood meal! Ahhhh life is good!

There's nothing more wonderful than leaving the world behind for a relaxing week on Maine's rocky coast. The view is amazing and there's nothing like high tide! We walk in the door and immediately shed the worries and stress of daily life. There's plenty to do in the local villages and Portland is just up the coast. But the real thrill is not feeling the need to go anywhere but the nearest lounge chair overlooking the crashing waves. The owners are lovely people and wonderful to work with. The kitchen is well stocked with the necessities and the house is homey and comfortable with a MAGNIFICENT ocean view. Whether we are falling asleep to the sound of the sea, waking up to an awesome view, or reading in a cozy chair in front of the big picture windows, we feel ‘at home’. Although we hate to give away the secret of such a treasure, we encourage anyone needing to 'get away' to consider our favorite vacation find...anywhere! We just got back from our 3rd stay and are looking forward to planning our next visit. Final Thought: A bad weather day at OceanEdge is still better than a good day in Florida...the ocean ROARS!
Owner response:Thank you for choosing OceanEdge for your vacation. We continually strive to provide our guests with the best possible vacation experience, and your comments indicate to us that we are succeeding! We enjoy sharing our seaside treasure with appreciative folks such as yourselves. You are welcome back anytime.

Just wanted to write a formal thank you for the recent use of your place. Everything was outstanding, and the house is absolutely beautiful. Very tastefully decorated, good choice of colors, excellent attention to detail. From the 15 watt bulb on the 3 way lamps (just the right amount of lighting at night) to motion spotlights, the motions in the cellar, the swivel TV stands, the welcoming care package. Plus the house is very comfortable, and not filled with a lot of "clutter." Thank you very much again, we hope to be able to use it again someday.

Hi Linda, Outstanding! Just wanted to drop a line to say how much we enjoyed our stay at your sanctuary by the sea! Everything was perfect...the weather, the breathtaking view and the accomodations! It was hard to return to reality! We may be interested in renting the same week next year if that's possible. Thanks again! Donna

What a spot! What a vacation! We truly enjoyed your home. My husband and son fished, the girls collected shells, and I, 7 months pregnant, had the most relaxing time I could ever wish for! It was a spectacular vacation! Thanks so much!
