Our ocean view Oceanside California vacation rental condominium is the place to be when you are looking for a beach rental with attention to detail. On the third and fourth floor, with elevator access, our two bedroom two story penthouse loft condominium is a soothing home base for your relaxing beach vacation or busy exploration of San Diego and southern California. You will be instantly drawn to the new doors and window with their ocean views from the family room and both bedrooms.
Our modern kitchen is well equipped for a quick pre-beach breakfast or for a gourmet sunset dinner. If you wish, you can enjoy a movie or your favorite show on our high definition TVs with cable, DVD players. You might prefer to sit on the private ocean view balcony, or take a cocktail up to your private roof top patio and enjoy the sites and sounds of surf instead. As you walk through the staffed secure gate to North Coast Village you are transported to a tropical oasis reminiscent of the Costa Rican rain forest. Running streams, waterfalls, lush foliage, and koi meander through the spacious grounds of this resort like beach front condominium complex in Oceanside California.
You will notice the crystal clear heated pool and spa, gleaming barbecues, convenient picnic tables, 'sand rinsing' stations to remove the lingering beach. If you need a break from sun and surf, you might enjoy a game of pool on one of North Coast Village's 2 new pool tables, a jog on a treadmill in the exercise room, a little ping pong, or a sauna. Feeding our giant koi is a simple pleasure not to be missed during your Oceanside visit.
When you venture all the way through the back gates, you find yourself on one of North San Diego County’s finest beaches: broad and flat, with fire rings, volleyball, and great surf breaks - right out back! Be sure to stake out a fire ring (to the left) for a unique evening beach fire at least one night while you are in Oceanside.
To your right, you can walk or bike to Oceanside’s busy little harbor for a bite to eat or some boating, and to your left you can venture down the strand to southern California’s longest pier for some fishing (no license needed) or casual dining at Ruby's. North Coast Village is close enough to walk to everything near the beach, so your car can stay in its secure underground parking spot - especially useful when beach parking becomes a premium in the summer.
When it is time to end the day, you will find stylish comfort in either of the bedrooms (new plush king or two twins) and if there is an extra guest, they can use the new queen sleeper sofa (or free pack n play for little ones). Both bedrooms have TV's with cable as well. You will find all accommodations to be stylish and of high quality. Relax and enjoy! This beach rental is as good as it gets.

We had a great time with our 2 adult kids and 1 grand-daughter, age 3.5. We fed Charlie, the Pelican, mackerel given to us by the vendor on the pier. We loved watching the pelicans dive into the sea. We saw harbor seals, and dolphins. Enjoyed the Zoo, the jacuzzi, the workout room.yourcondoserved our needs very well. Loved sleeping to the music of the ocean. This was the 12th year we have spent the month of March at North Coast Village, and it was our sixth year at Pelican Place. This lovely 2-story unit is perfect for entertaining overnight guests in the separate guest "suite'" which allows family & friends to stay with us and enjoy some privacy. Even though the weather this year was not as nice as in prior years (and the weather back home in Minnesota was unseasonably warm beyond our wildest dreams), we'll be back in March 2013!Did you find this review helpful? Our 7th winter sunshine break in this delightful condo! Every year it's homecoming with everything we need ready & waiting for us. It was a perfect place to celebrate Dave's 41st birthday. Your condo is the perfect West Coast getaway with subtle hints of the East Coast. We will remember sitting on the top balcony gazing at the stars and snuggled in a warm blanket. The luxury of falling asleep to the waves each night was awesome. The kids loved walking to dock, eating at Ruby's and meeting an incredibly friendly pelican who seemed to be taking his nightly stroll on the dock. SHORT-TERM RENTAL AGREEMENT This Agreement is made in Cardiff by the Sea, CA on {{CURRENT_LDATE}} between BETTER Vacation Rentals (Owner), and {{REQ_NAME}}, (Guest). This Agreement is for rental of the property located at {{PROP_ADDRESS}} (rental property). Agreement Acceptance: Guest's signature on this agreement, or payment of rent, or taking of possession of the rental property after receipt of this agreement is evidence of Guest's acceptance of this agreement and all of its terms. Term: The term of occupancy by Guest is a {{REQ_DAYS}} period from {{REQ_ARRIVE}} - {{REQ_DEPART}} (rental term). Term begins at {{REQ_CHECKIN::3 pm}} of the arrival day, and ends at {{REQ_CHECKOUT::10 am}} of the departure day. Early arrival or failure to depart at the agreed upon time will result in an extra day's rent. Rental Payment: Guest agrees to pay rent in the amount of ${{X_REQ_ADJRENT}} rent, ${{REQ_CLEANINGCOST:cf}} normal cleaning, ${{REQ_TAXCOST}} tax, and ${{REQ_MISCCOST}} {{REQ_MISCCOSTLABEL}}. Total: ${{REQ_TOTALCOST:cf}}. Twenty-five percent (25)% is due upon reservation and the balance is due 60 days prior to arrival. Payments must be made by major credit card or a personal US check if arrival is more than 60 days in the future. Payment in full must be received at agreed upon times or reservation is subject to cancellation according to schedule and terms in #7 below. Damage Waiver: Guest has purchased a damage waiver from Owner. Said damage waiver covers up to $1,500 in accidental damages reported to Owner. Theft of guests' personal property is not covered, nor is damage due to intentional misuse, negligence, smoking, pets, or exceeding the occupancy limit. Owner reserves the right to collect damages exceding or not covered by damage waiver from Guest. The damage waiver policy is available for examination prior to acceptance via email or fax. Cancellations: Cancellations must be made must be verified by response in writing from Owner to be valid. All cancellations, regardless of the circumstances, are subject to a 25% service charge. Cancellations made 61 or more days prior to scheduled arrival will result in full refund less the service charge. There will be no refund on cancellations made within 60 days of scheduled arrival. There are no refunds or credits for unused lodging. Assignment and Sublease: Guest may not assign this Agreement or sublet the rental property or any portion thereof without prior written consent of the Broker. Only those guests who are explicitly stated on this agreement are allowed to be present at the rental property. Purpose: Guest agrees to use and occupy the rental property for short-term vacation purposes only. Guest may not use the rental property for any other purpose without prior written consent of Broker. Guest agrees to refrain from using the rental property for any unlawful purpose or any purpose deemed hazardous. Occupancy Limits: The maximum occupancy is {{REQ_GUESTLIMIT}}. The person signing this agreement must be 25 years of age or older (unless active or honorably discharged military with the express consent of Broker) and must be one of the occupants throughout the term of the rental agreement. Failure to comply with this requirement is grounds for immediate eviction and forfeiture of rents and deposits. Smoking: There is no smoking allowed in the rental property or its balconies, patios, courtyards, or surrounding area. Evidence of smoking will result in immediate eviction and/or full forfeiture of all rents, deposits and the full cost of remediation and lost rents. Rules and Regulations: The property being rented is either a condo in a residential development or a house in a residential neighborhood. There may be people living nearby who are year-round residents. Excessive noise, rowdy behavior, loud music or other nuisances will not be tolerated by the development or by us. If subject property is a condominium, tenant agrees to abide by any and all Rules and Regulations including, but not limited to, rules with respect to noise, odors, disposal of refuse, parking, and use of common areas. There will be a copy of said Rules inside the rental upon your arrival and an advance copy is available upon your request via email. Violation of any rules and regulations will be deemed a material breach of this rental agreement, and your deposits shall be forfeited and you must immediately vacate and pay any damages and or fines upon demand. Tenant also agrees to pay any fines assessed by the City of Oceanside which are a result of their violation of City ordinances to noise, vandalism and overcrowding, and to vacate the property immediately upon being cited. Repairs/Service Calls/Refunds: Guest will immediately upon taking occupancy make an inspection of the property and report to Agent any damage, breakage, malfunction, or other problem on the property. Guest agrees to properly use and operate all furnishings, appliances, plumbing fixtures, electronics, fireplaces, and other equipment available on the rental property. Guest agrees to return the rental property to the condition it was at the commencement of the rental term. Broker cannot guarantee against mechanical failure of any item within the property. Please report any inoperative items to our office immediately. Broker will make every reasonable effort to have repairs done quickly and efficiently. Should a repair person make a call to a unit and find that the equipment is in working order and the problem was due to the Guest(s) oversight or neglect, the charge for service will be the Guest(s) responsibility. No refunds or rent reductions will be made due to failure of appliances or equipment. Barbeque grills are not available in all rental properties. Cleaning of the barbeque is the sole responsibility of the guest prior to and after each use. Broker is not responsible for the cleanliness or operation of barbeque grills. Broker does not supply charcoal, lighter fluid or matches,or propane. Use of the barbeque is at the sole discretion of the guests. Please be careful if using the barbeque grill. Fire and/or smoke damage will be the responsibility of the guest. Entry and Inspection: Owner and Owner's representatives shall have the right to enter the premises: (a) in case of emergency, (b) to make necessary repairs, (c) to verify that the terms of this agreement are being met, (d) to exhibit the premises to prospective or actual purchasers, mortgagees, tenant, workmen, or contractor; or (e) when tenant has abandoned or surrendered the premises. Termination: This Agreement may be terminated by Owner in the event of breach by Guest of any portion of this Agreement. In the case of termination, Owner may, to the extent permitted by law, re-enter the rental property. Compliance with Law: Guest agrees to comply with all statutes, ordinances, and requirements of all municipal, state, and federal authorities. Pets and Animals: Pets and animals are not allowed on the rental property at any time. Presence of animals is grounds for immediate eviction and forfeiture of all deposits and rents. Parking: There is one parking space assigned to this condo in the garage. You will be given a pass at check in (& the space number). It is VERY important that you use only this space & display the tag at all times (they tow in NCV and at the beach). Parking is at a premium at the beach in the summer, but there is a city pay lot across the street if you bring more than one car. Boat, RV, etc. parking is not allowed at NCV. The height limit is 6'6” and 21' is the length limit. Construction and Noise: Guest understands that the property you are renting is either a condo in a residential development or a house in a residential neighborhood, not a hotel or timeshare in a resort. Other residents own properties nearby. These residents and developments have the right to perform construction on their property without notification to the Owner of the property you are renting. If there is construction from nearby sites, or the owners association is performing construction, Owner shall not be liable for these events, as they are beyond their control. No rebate will be offered in these circumstances. Holding Over: Because of the nature of the short-term winter and summer vacation rentals, guest agrees that any unauthorized "holding over" of the property past the stated rental period could severely jeopardize Broker/Owner and cause loss of rental income from other previously booked tenants, temporary and/or permanent loss of business, goodwill and reputation; and could force Owner to breach an agreement with similar short-terms summer or winter vacation tenant(s) who may have reservations during guest’s unauthorized "holder over" period. In this event Owner may be legally liable for damages to said other tenant(s). Guest should be aware that unauthorized "holding over" has been construed as a factor in establishing "malicious continuing occupation" of rental property that may entitle Owner to treble damages in any unlawful detainer action. Guest also recognizes that unauthorized "holding over" could be grounds in court as a cause of action for intentionally interfering with Owner/Broker’s prospective business position and guest agrees to fully indemnify Owner for any and all losses sustained as a result of any such "holding over" including attorney’s fees and expenses. Physical Possession: If Owner isunable to deliver possession of the premises at the start thereof, Owner shall not be liable for any damage caused thereby, nor shall this agreement be void or voidable by guest, but guest shall not be liable for any rent until possession is delivered. Guest may terminate this agreement is possession is not delivered within one day of the start of the term hereof. Waiver: No failure of Owner to enforce any terms or condition hereof shall be deemed a waiver of such terms or condition or any other term or condition of this agreement. The acceptance of rent by Owner shall not waive the right of Owner to enforce any term hereof. Heirs and Assigns: This Agreement shall extend to and be binding on representatives, heirs, executors, successors, and assigns of the respective parties as if they were in all cases named parties to this Agreement. Indemnification: Guest agrees to hold Owner harmless from any and all claims for damages or injuries occurring in the premises or any part thereof, or in common areas thereof, and to indemnify Owner for any and all losses sustained as a result of any such claims, including attorney’s fees and expenses, unless such damage is the result if actual negligence or unlawful act of Owner. Arbitration/Avenue/Law: Parties agree that any controversy or dispute arising from or in connection with this Agreement, its interpretation, performance or termination, shall, upon demand of a party hereto, be submitted to and decided by binding arbitration at JAMS-Endispute, Inc. or another mutually agreeable arbitrator or arbitration facility in San Diego County, California. If the parties are unable to mutually agree to an arbitrator within 10 days of a request for arbitration then an arbitrator shall be appointed by JAMS-Endispute, Inc. The arbitration shall be conducted pursuant to the California Code of Civil Procedure with discovery being determined by the arbitrator. There shall not be any court action except as provided by California law for judicial review of arbitration proceedings. Judgment upon the award made by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. The following matters are excluded from arbitration hereunder: (a) a judicial or non-judicial foreclosure or other action or proceeding to enforce a deed of trust, mortgage, or unreal property sales contract as defined in Civil Code 2985, (b) an unlawful detainer action, (c) the filing or enforcement of a mechanic’s lien, (d) any matter which is within the jurisdiction of a probate court, or (e) an action for order of attachment, receivership, injunction, or other provisional remedies. None of the foregoing shall constitute a waiver of the right to arbitrate under this provision. Severability. Whenever possible, each provision of this Agreement will be interpreted in such manner as to be effective and valid under applicable law. The resort like complex of North Coast Village is on the sand (the only condo complex that is in Oceanside), and right between the pier and and Oceanside Harbor.
We lived in San Clemente CA when we bought this beach rental and couldn't believe what Oceanside had been hiding from us for years. It's the only city in San Diego county with a harbor for boating fun, a flat sandy beach, a boardwalk (the Strand), and a pier.

We live nearby and bought this great beach condo as an investment in our future. We hope to spend lots of time here when we retire, but until then we have to rent our vacation home as much as possible to help pay the mortgage. Melinda spends a lot of time in Oceanside and makes a point of trying different restaurants whenever there. Some favorites are Harney Sushi, Venetos, 333 Pacific, Jitters Coffee Pub, Dominics in the harbor, Beach Break Cafe, Longboarder cafe, Rim Talay, and Bull Taco.
