We had a great time with our 2 adult kids and 1 grand-daughter, age 3.5. We fed Charlie, the Pelican, mackerel given to us by the vendor on the pier. We loved watching the pelicans dive into the sea. We saw harbor seals, and dolphins. Enjoyed the Zoo, the jacuzzi, the workout room.yourcondoserved our needs very well. Loved sleeping to the music of the ocean. We really appreciated the stroller, high chair, beach cart, & crock pot. We'll be back! Thanks so much.

This was the 12th year we have spent the month of March at North Coast Village, and it was our sixth year at Pelican Place. This lovely 2-story unit is perfect for entertaining overnight guests in the separate guest "suite'" which allows family & friends to stay with us and enjoy some privacy. Even though the weather this year was not as nice as in prior years (and the weather back home in Minnesota was unseasonably warm beyond our wildest dreams), we'll be back in March 2013!

It was a perfect place to celebrate Dave's 41st birthday. Your condo is the perfect West Coast getaway with subtle hints of the East Coast. We will remember sitting on the top balcony gazing at the stars and snuggled in a warm blanket. The luxury of falling asleep to the waves each night was awesome. The kids loved walking to dock, eating at Ruby's and meeting an incredibly friendly pelican who seemed to be taking his nightly stroll on the dock. The kids stood right next to him...

Lovely stay in perfect proximity to the beach. We loved the views and sound of waves crashing all day & night (doors open for the music!). We saw sharks and dolphins hunting close to shore at sunset, on our last evening here. This morning, at breakfast, on the pier, we saw a thresher shark that had been caught an hour before-Wow! ""Best Wedding Location!" We booked the place mainly because we wanted to have our wedding ceremony on or near the beach in Oceanside and when we found the North Coast Village through Better Vacation Rentals, we knew this place would be perfect. The North Coast Village provided party room for our reception with a very reasonable price. The path from the party room drew us along the small waterfalls and the well maintained garden toward the ocean. We used the small area right outside the gate next to the ocean as our ceremony location which they have just finished putting the grass on the dirt area. Although we had the guests stand up because 70 chairs would not fit in the space, our ceremony went beautifully and dramatically with the view of the ocean as the background. The security guards were friendly and helpful. We also booked the condo room (Pelican Place C304) as a place to stay during the ceremony. We stayed there for 3 nights and enjoyed the jacuzzi and the quietness. Other guests were nice and friendly. The condo room was clean and comfortable. However, we might think twice to pay again that much just for the room since there was no during-stay service (or you have to pay additional cost)." -from our FK online review system, Melinda

""Wish we had more time to enjoy all there was to do!" What a wonderful place for families. Perfect location. Loved watching surfers while drinking coffee on the patio in the mornings. So many amenities, nice to have the pack and play for our baby. Used Go Baby Go for the other baby equipment we needed. Few things were missing in the unit but would have been taken care of if we had requested. Tastfully decorated. Plenty of towels etc. The complex of North Coast Village really does have it all. I wish we had more time to enjoy the pools and beach. I can see the train noise bothering some, particularly in the summer when you have to leave the patio doors open. But the track runs along the ocean so if you want to be oceanfront...it's a compromise. Owner was great to deal with. She made it super easy and worry free for us. Definatley would come back for a future holiday. On a side note, anyone with young children should visit Legoland. Our 4 year old loved it! æSimply Great !" We really enjoyed this property. It had one upstairs master bedroom, and another bedroom and bath downstairs. Each floor had a deck with a beach and ocean view, and the upstairs deck also had a table large enough for outdoor dining. The location was great, with the beach only a few hundred feet away, and many restaurant choices a short drive or a decent walk away. The Condo was nicely equipped with a compete kitchen, beach chairs, wireless internet, and a big flat-screen TV which had jacks for a video game. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. ""Wonderful location right on the ocean" This was our first time renting a condo rather than a hotel. Being in the hotel industry, I'm quite familiar with hotels and do greatly enjoy the comforts of home they offer, but this condo was like a hotel on steroids! Our unit had a beautiful view right off the balconies and the one off the master bedroom was used frequently for breakfast and late night relaxing. There was no a/C which was a point of concern for me, but sleeping was wonderful with the sliding doors open and within 5 minutes, no matter what time of day we returned to the condo, it cooled quickly with the windows & sliding doors open. The temperatures right near the ocean were moderate and the breezes fantastic. All the comforts of home were available including full kitchen, pools, hot tubs etc. It was great! We had a small problem with the TV as the directions available were not for that particular setup, but it was handled quickly with a phone call from the owners. I would definitely recommend this condo unit to anyone wanting an out of the ordinary place to stay with a great location and amenities. ""Family Get Away" We have an infant and a toddler and we really enjoyed our mini escape to the seaside! "Perfect place for winter sun" This was our 4th year in this beautiful, well-furnished condo with 2 balconies overlooking the ocean. When the grandchildren visit for a few days, beach gear is waiting for them in the well-stocked closets. Every room has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished as if the owner prepared it for her favorite guest. Oceanside has a clean, family-friendly beach and harbor. San Diego and the interesting towns in-between are an easy drive of less than an hour. The commuter train is convenient and fun to use. So much to see and do but best of all is relaxing at the condo, smelling the fresh salt air and walking the beach. Personal Tip: You will have complete privacy but if you want to meet other vacationers, go to the coffee hours and potlucks. "This was our eight March at North Coast Village and our second year at Pelican Place. The weather was the best we have ever had (and last year was great)! We enjoyed the new sofas and the new refrigerator - particularly the ice maker. We also enjoyed watching "March Madness" on the big screen TV and surfing the internet on our laptop. But, alas, it's time to return to the late winter coldness of the North Land."

I cannot say enough good things about Melinda, and unit C304. I inquired about a unit literally on Christmas Eve, and received an immediate response from Melinda. Despite short notice, and the holiday, she made the process as painless as possible, and it wasn't 2 days later that my family and I arrived in Oceanside and were greeted by a lovely condo. The unit is stocked for whatever you may need, and extremely comfortable. The HDTV and sound system made me not want to leave, as did the lovely view of the ocean. I hesitated to write this review, only because I'm afraid that it may lead to the unit not being available the next time I want to visit. Thanks for everything, Melinda.

"We've had a great week here at Pelican Place! We celebrated a 50th birthday and surprised my husband with this vacation location as well! Family came and we had a beach party for the 50th down on the beach. Then we all walked to the Harbor, road bikes around "the Strip' area, went to the pool, and fed the huge Koi fish in the pond. It is our last morning hers, and the weather has been wonderful the past few days - we will be sad to go back to our own home where it is much hotter in this "heat wave" we're having. We will all miss the sounds of the ocean gently rocking us to sleep tonight."

We stayed at Pelican Place from Jan. 2-13/07 and had a fabulous vacation! No lumpy beds, frayed towels or chipped dishes in Melinda's unit - it's a perfect balance of good quality and comfort. We love Oceanside in the off-season - this was our second visit to NCV in January. The sunshine is warm enough for us to wear shorts & sandals during the day. Not quite warm enough to use the pool, but we loved sitting on the rooftop deck listening to the waves and feeling the sun on our winter-weary Canadian faces. The pier and harbour are both charming and we had a couple of great meals at Jolly Roger. We find Oceanside within easy driving distance of Disneyland/California Adventures and we made great use of a 3-day park hopper. Our favourite is still the Wild Animal Park - this year there were lion cubs - we could have spent an entire day watching their antics. Outlet mall shopping is fabulous - Canadians will be amazed at the deals to be found on Rockport, Nike, Jockey, etc! "A great beach view place to stay" My family and I have vacationed at North Coast Village for several years, and think it provides the best beachfront vacation experience on the Southern California coast. The location, the view, the amenities, and the people make it a great place for a summer stay. We have rented several different units over the years, but this is our favorite. We love the two story layout, the flat screen TV, the view, and the wireless internet access. The unit is well positioned in the complex and is furnished nicely. We have found the unit owner to be very positive to work with and give both her and the unit a very high recommendation. One word of warning, make sure you park in the designated spot. We had a difficult time reading the number after dark on one visit and ended up having a car towed away.
