60th Birthday Celebration

Our children surprised us with a visit to the Carriage House for my 60th birthday. It was a wonderful birthday gift to ski, enjoy Breckenridge and the surrounding area at such a beautiful time of year. The Carriage House is very quaint, close to everything, one block off of Main Street Breckenridge making it a very quiet setting. The view of the mountains and the ski hill was amazing and you can even see the mountains while sleeping. Make sure you enjoy the stars at night. We had a wonderful breakfast at Daylight Donuts which serves great eggs in addition to great donuts and the best seafood at South Ridge Seafood on Ridge Road. We'll return in the summer to hike the mountains and visit Breckenridge. The kitchen is well stocked but with just being there two days we wanted to visit our favorite restaurants. Summer in Breckenridge is as beautiful as winter. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home. The Carriage house was immaculate and such a cozy place to stay.

Our stay here was just great. It was just how it was said to be. Very close to everything. A wonderfull cozy place for a couple, or a couple with children. The carriage house was very neat and the garage was a real treat for rental car and ski equipment. As for the town of Breckenridge, it is awsome. What shops and sights. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to stay and be close to everything. We went to 3 different mountains in a week Breck,Vail,Keystone. All within a short walk or a short drive and just fantastic mountains. Although they were alittle short of snow this year it was sunny everyday and just great to be on those hills. Thanks' again to Jan and Kathy for what was a truely great time. We will be back to Breck at some point in the near future.

Perfect Retreat

My visit to Breckenridge was special and even more so by staying at Jan's Carriage House. It's a perfect accommodation for a solo traveler (or for a romantic getaway) and the location is unbeatable. This is the place to go if you want to avoid the ski resort atmosphere and prefer the quiet of a small town. The bonus to my stay was the visit from two red fox who took their daily rest on the snow pile in front of the house. I look forward to returning.

Wonderful Trip

As newlyweds, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about the Carriage House. It was just the right amount of space for the two of us, and we loved how close we were to some wonderful restaurants in town. We checked our skis at the base of Peak 8 every night and rode the Gondola to and from the mountain. It's a very short walk to the Gondola from the House, I would guess around 6-7 minutes at a casual pace. Jan was incredibly helpful, and the place was incredibly clean and comfortable. It would probably be a tight space for 4 adults, especially since there isn't any closet space. Having a garage was a great addition in the winter conditions, but having a garage door opener available to use would have been a big help!

I have found a garage door opener is not practical because they have a habit of accidentally walking away. But the garage is easy to open from just inside the people door on the north side. And there is a closet--I'm surprised you missed it! The armoire also provides storage, just in case future guests may be concerned.

Great place to stay in Breckenridge

My husband and I stayed for four nights at the Carriage House in late September. The house was exactly as it appears on the website. Very clean, beautifully decorated and just the right size for the two of us. You were walking distance to everything in town. Best restaurant was Embers. Jan was very easy to deal with and very accommodating. Would highly recommend the Carriage House.

Adorable Couple's Retreat

This is a perfect couple's retreat, just a half-block east of Main Street. A cozy, quaint retreat, yet steps from all the action. Very clean and well-maintained. Owner was very helpful in arranging accommodations. Highly recommended.

My mother and I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying in your little house. It was wonderfully located, perfectly situated (with the pine and Aspen trees) and was charming outside and within. We enjoyed how much character there was on the inside and how quiet it was. It was warm and welcoming as soon as we stepped in the door. The weather was beautiful and we are very happy we got our trip in before the snow yesterday morning. Colorado is perfect and lovely in the summer--except for the little surprises in the weather! You picked the perfect town to have a rental. Breckenridge has become our favorite place to visit in Colorado. Your house has become our favorite of all the rentals we have stayed in.

The Carriage House is a wonderful place to stay. Clean and sweetly decorated, and close enough to walk to everything. My husband and I love CO and this was our first time in Breck - we will be back. I was staying at the Carriage House again at Thanksgiving. This time i stayed for three days. The new improvements that Jan has made are really nice. I can't tell you how comfortable the new bed is! It's nice to be able to sleep really well after a hard day skiing. This place is quiet .... nobody above or below. The first time I was there she didn't have the garage available -- this time I didn't have to scrape the windshield or get into a cold car. The garage was heated and I stored my skis there. I didn't use my car the whole time I was there because I brought enough food or walked to restaurants. I'm sure I will be back.

My husband and I and our two children stayed at The Carriage House this summer and had the most enchanted vacation together. It was so peaceful, beautiful gardens, we could walk everywhere, the view was magnificent- just fabulous. The house itself was darling and so much attention to detail with the decor and comfort. Our children just loved sleeping in the loft area. They are 6 and 8 years old and thought it was a 4 night slumber party. We were so comfortable and will certainly go back. I would highly reccomend it.

Recently, my sister and I had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Carriage House. The condo is warm and cozy and the jetted bathtub is "wonderful". The location is so convenient to the gondola and shopping with an added bonus of "Daylight Donuts" just across the street. They make scrumptious pastries, a nutritious breakfast and great coffee. Jan was great to work with. Besides the excellent accommodations, she even provided 3 days of beautiful sunny, blue sky days with fabulous skiing (not sure if that is guaranteed). If we ever travel that way again, we would stay in the Carriage House.

Just spent a week skiing Breckenridge and Vail and the Carriage House was a great pick. My sister-in-law is a real estate agent in Breckenridge and she was the one who chose this place for me. Good choice!! Very cozy and convenient to everything. You really only walk four minutes to the gondola. The garage is a plus. I hope to be back soon!

What an awesome place! It really is within walking distance from the gondola, close to just about everything in Breck City. Walked to gondola every morning, took 3-4 minutes to get there. Bars were within 5-10 minutes walking distance also. Location is probably one of the best locations in town, in respect to the gondola. House has a lot of character, and is very nice and cozy. Four of us (4 guys) stayed there, had enough room. The kitchen and heated garage are a huge plus. Fireplace heats the place up real nice. I would definitely stay here again, will hopefully be back next year. I miss it already. Skiing was amazing, but the house really completed the entire experience, we all LOVED it!!!. Jan was extremely pleasant to deal with, accessible at any time, and always able to answer all questions.

Loved it...what a terrific cottage! Across the street from the Gondola and from the Summit Stage pick-up for skiing at Keystone and A-Basin. Perfect for coming home after a good ski day and making a warm snack in the fully equipped kitchen, soaking in the jetted tub, and relaxing by the cozy fireplace before taking a short walk to all the great restaurants and bars on Main Street! I'd love to go back right now :)

We miss Breck already! What a great find the Carriage House is. It's less then a 5 minute walk across Main St. to the gondola and it was so nice to come back to a warm fire going every night. The pictures really don't do it justice, it's immaculate, and so well laid out, every nook and cranny has some kind of storage made out of it. We'll definitely come back, especially since we were stuck on a lift for 40 mins. and need to use up the free lift ticket we got out of it and go back to Rasta Pasta!

The place was awesome! Right on the village main street. You can walk to the gondola across Main St. This was a perfect central location in the mountains, as we skiied 4 resorts all withing 30 min. Would/WILL (hopefully) stay again!

O.K. folks I searched high and low, compared prices, and finally settled on the Carriage House. After staying there (sunday - wednesday) I am writing to let you know you will NOT find a better deal. The place is just incredibly cozy with lots of charm and is so convienent to the town of Breck and the new gondola. We parked the car and never used it while we were there. Other past guests commented on the fact that the pictures really didn't do it justice - I have to agree. I knew it was going to be nice but it really exceeded my expectation. And it's right across the street from the local breakfast dive, Daylight Donuts ($3.99 breakfast special!. I felt like I was in a plush cabin isolated in the woods but I was right next to everything. I have traveled all over the world and I feel like the Carriage House is one of the best deals I have ever been fortunate enough to come across. I'm telling you - look no further.

You must stay at this house at every opportunity. This house has the most efficent use of space of any property we have every visited and feels right at home the minute you open the door. We stayed with our two children and never felt crowded or cramped for space. The location is ideal with easy walking to the restaurants and shopping and private parking just outside the door. Do not tell Jan, but she has this underpriced and may well be the best bargin in Breck. We will definitely be back.

What a find!!!! The Carriage House exceeded all my expectations. Due to the online pictures and the affordable price, I was anticipating an adequate but economy, older unit (especially considering the super LOCATION). But I was WOWED. Everything is 5 star clean. The furniture looks much better in reality than the pictures. The towels are luxuriously thick and soft. The mattress is really comfortable. The jetted tub feels good after a hard day skiing. And it will be so nice this Winter once the GONDOLA across the street is completed !!! I'll be back.

The Carriage House is nicer than the pictures suggest. The layout and use of space is very efficient. The finish and appliances are high-quality. One block from town and 1.5 blocks from the free buses was a huge draw for us. We will definitely come back. (Agree that a bigger coffee maker is required).

This is a fabulous place to stay! It is beautiful, conveniently located, and very quiet. It was perfect for our small family; the loft was our 12-year-old's idea of perfect. The carriage house is absolutely unique in Breckenridge.
