My wife and I stayed 3 nights, had the house to ourselves. Bedrooms are very nice. Kitchen facilities are excellent. Did not use swimming pool, but next door to the house. Air conditioning was good and sufficient to keep the entire house cool. Would be a great house for a family with kids or several couples. Plenty of privacy for each bedroom. Parking was underneath house, so cars are protected from weather. We would stay again. Transaction with owner was easy. About 12 miles from Gulf Shores and restaurants, but drive is easy.

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Hi Mayte, Thanks for returning our deposit so soon. I want to let you know that we had a wonderful time in Fort Morgan. The house was fabulous, comfortable and accommodating for our family of 12. The kitchen had everything we needed it. It was nice to be able to cook the three of us at the same time without bumping into each other. I can't imagine feeling more comfortable in any other place!! The beach was great; the kids enjoyed playing with the sand and watching some amazing dolphins swimming by. My husband and his brother loved to play tennis early in the morning. The amenities were great! We will stay here many more times in the future, I am sure!! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely look here first when searching for a place to stay when we visit next. Thank so much! You have a beautiful home!

Mrs. Asun, We are thoroughly enjoying our vacation at the Angelfish II. The house is beautiful. We have had a relaxing visit and plan to return next year. The neighborhood is so family-friendly. It's nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of Gulf Shores. We will be sad to leave tomorrow.

This was our second year going to Angel Fish II and we absolutely love it. Our three families enjoyed so much last year that we decide to come back again. This home has a wonderful layout; everything is in one level, very open and homey. The house is fully equipped with everything you need, just bring your clothes. The neighborhood is very family friendly, grand kids play outside without not problem, there is also a security guard to keep an eye on everything. The beach is a short walk; we left our big canopy, umbrella and chairs overnight during our entire stay, it is a low key place. After a long day on the beach the grand kids love to swim in the pools. The house also have two wonderful decks with beach and bay views to sit and have a glass of wine and chat with the great residents and visitors as they walk by. We couldn't ask for a better location. Clean and great beds!!! Had a wonderful time, will be our choice always when staying on Fort Morgan. Thanks Mayte, you are the best!!!

Dirtty, found ants, lots of things broken, misinformation in posting, and owner rude when complained

My in-laws rented this house for our family and we had a lot of issues. We found ants in the kitchen, called the pest control number that was supplied but they never came. Sheets were extremely dirty. Half of the furniture was broken including 3 kitchen chairs, a recliner that had no seat, and the bunk beds that had slats falling out of them. The posting implied that there was a baby pool in the neighborhood but when we got there, the baby pool was covered up and unusable. The bathrooms around the pool were locked so you had to walk all the way back to the house to use the restroom (terrible if you have young kids!) Half of the doorknobs did not work. My mother-in-law sent a nice e-mail to the owner letting him know of just a few of the issues (to help him out for future people staying there) and he was extremely rude and threatened to charge us an early check-in fee because we got there a little early and waited outside the house until the cleaning people finished. And, by the way, the cleaning people were not finished cleaning by check-in time. This could be a really nice house if the owner would care enough to keep it up and fix things that are broken. We were really excited about this house because it looked really nice in the photos but we were totally misinformed. Would not recommend to anyone, especially for a family with small children!

Owner response:We are proud of our properties and the vacation environment we create for our customers. Repeating customers are frequent, but negative reports like this one are atypical. Although we strive to ensure that our customers have a wonderful vacation, we realize that we can not please everybody all the time. This party opted to violate the rules from the start and then attempted to get a refund once their vacation was completed. Calling us and giving us a chance to address any issues during their stay would have been better. We are sorry that the experience was negative for all involve and wish them happier vacations in the future. ISSUES UPDATE: - Our pest control company confirmed that some ants were found. The house was retreated and no further reports of ants have been received. The pest control team informed us that they never received any calls from the renter, as neither did we. - We confirmed that two kitchen chairs are a bit wobbly and we have decided to replace all the chairs and the table. Complains about the bunk beds and the recliner are unfounded. - The party arrived three hours before check-in time and found the house unprepared with dirty sheets, kitchen and bathrooms. They choose to enter the house and load their food in the refrigerator. When the cleaning crew arrived, the party had to be asked to leave the premises so the house could be clean. This created a stressful situation for all involved. - Early in the season the baby pool was shut down due to maintenance issues and we neglected to update our posting. The other two pools are fully operational. - The previous party to our complaining customer reported that they broke the master bedroom doorknobs. We made arrangements to have it replace. We also found out that the front door handled has been damaged as well. Both doorknobs were replaced. The statement: “half the doorknobs did not work” is obviously an exaggeration. - Access codes for the front door, pool and bathrooms are provided. This particular party had to be provided the information twice since they lost the first set. Obviously they did not have all the codes during their stay and they were unable to fully use all the facilities. Once again the party never called us to give us the chance to resolve the issue during their stay. We were never rude, but upon requests for a refund, we reminded the customer that per our contract unauthorized early check-ins carry a $50 per hour penalty, which we choose not to charge.

This home needs alot more TLC as well as a major housecleaning. Bath towels wearing a bit thin. Carpets were terribly stained or dirty. Kithchen sink drips and toliet seat in masterbath is broke. The supposidely new grill was so filthy(old) we ate out all the time. Garbage(by previous renters) was left to magots under carport. Other homes in the Heritage area seemed to be kept up alot better than this home. Pool waters was abit dirty and the pool area bathrooms cannot be used. Aside this complaint; the location is very good. (2 blocks from beach access) Can see both the Gulf and Bay right from the home location. Large living room with many sofa's and attached kitchen area was great for our large family get togethers. Be certain to get the combination to the Tennis area. We were never issued it. As for quite area; it is not. There are late night outside parties close to this home. The security leaves at 11:30p.m. when the parties begins. Weather in July very humid with afternoon showers. But we loved the hot heat weather. Beaches are white sand and we loved walking them. Jelly Fish abound in July in and out of the water. Be careful. Many people got stung. Not seriously though. Our famly did not get stung and we were in the water and sand alot.

Owner response:Below a few comments about your feedback: The carpets are steam cleaned professionally twice a year, at the beginning and the end of the season. It is hard for us to clean the carpets when we have customers checking in and out on the same day. To avoid this problem we are going to install tile floors or wood floor for summer 2009. Trash pick up is Tuesdays and Thursdays. After several requests the trash company agreed to move pick up to Mondays. The broken toilet seat on the master bath has been replaced and the water dripping has been fixed. We purchase a new gas grill every season. Unfortunately most guests do not clean after themselves, and the grill barely makes it to the end of the season. We are considering replacing the gas grill with a stone built charcoal grill. We understand that the bathrooms in the pool area were close during your stay due to sewer problems. This affected all guests in the subdivision, not just us. Bathrooms have been repaired and are operational. The code to use the clubhouse, the pools and the tennis courts were provided to you on your final letter, and are posted in the bulleting board in the kitchen. The subdivision is a family oriented place, (we do not rent to individuals under twenty five) where families reunite every summer to have a good time. It is normal and understandable that some families stay up a little later than usual and have fun on their vacations. Every 8 years there is a cycle of jelly fish population. Unfortunately in 2008 the amount of jelly fish was bigger that usual. The beaches in Fort Morgan are beautiful were most of the time you will enjoy watching the dolphins swimming by. We encourage our customers to call us if the feel the house has not been clean properly or if they have any problems during their stay. We welcome the opportunity to resolve any issues to ensure that you have an enjoyable vacation. We provide our home phone number and two cell phone numbers plus our e-mail address and our website to make it easy for our guests to reach us. All this information is placed in the kitchen bulleting board.

We wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our week at your beautiful beach home. It was spacious and comfortably furnished and perfect for our extended family of 10! The rocking chairs were wonderful for rocking my little grandsons to sleep. The weather was perfect for the entire week. We saw lots and lots of stingray even very close to the shore. I will definitely recommend your place to my friends and hope to have opportunity to stay there again in the future.
