Accommodations:  Condominium, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5+ Baths (Sleeps 4-6)

Located in Canmore, at Canmore Crossing, 1120 Railway Ave., 5 minutes from the eastern gates to Banff National Park. Why stay in a small hotel room with no view or amenities, in a noisy area of town when you can have your own condo in a great central location for about the same price. Just minutes to most of what you likely want to do in Banff, Canmore and surrounding area.

Call to inquire about last minute rates if unit isn't booked. We give a 10% to 25% for bookings with travel less than 28 days from today.
25% off for travel in less than 7 days
20% off for travel in 13 - 7 days
15% off for travel in 20 - 14 days
10% off for travel in 28 to 21 days

We may also do exchanges at certain times of year - just send us an e-mail to inquire.

You can leave the condo and walk to many restaurants, pubs, shops, even Starbucks (to prove the unit is in the center of things) in less than five minutes.

Why stay here, vs. another place? For the reasonable price the condo has many extras. For example, a 42 inch HD TV, with surround sound, and a Microsoft XBox 360 and some popular games. A selection of DVDs. High speed Internet Connection (up to 3 Mb/s).

A more expensive set of mattresses than you get in your typical hotel room (the owner knows what it is like to have a bad back). There are books in the suite about popular hikes, a picnic basket, cork screw, a storage cage for bikes and ski equipment, a lot of little things other places don't have.

NO SMOKING.

Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2002

Larry is a serial entrepreneur. Having spent much of the 90’s at Microsoft, since 2002 he has helped to create and run a number of Internet and high tech companies. Laurie is a visual merchandiser who travels across Canada for her work.

Both of us are avid travellers. We own 4 vacation rental properties with Laurie managing the bulk of our rentals. Together we’ve spent many months travelling the world (North America - 5 provinces, over 20 states) (World - 10 countries and numerous territories) not counting places we’ve been to individually. Our goal is to do a good job exploring this great world of our in the time we have here.

We are open to trading time at our properties during the off peak seasons. All our properties are fantastic to visit year around.

Why the Owner Chose Banff

We bought at Canmore Crossing, in Canmore, about 5 minutes outside the eastern gates to Banff National Park for the following reasons:
We have a fantastic mountain view
We love the town of Canmore. We like the fact that is isn't as touristy as the Town of Banff but still a great mountain town.
We like our central location between the new downtown core and the old quant downtown.
We love that once we are at our condo we can walk around the downtown core for shopping and restaurants.
Our location is nicely removed from the Trans Canada Highway and situated in such a way that we get very little traffic or train noise.
We decided to buy in Canmore Crossing because its location and amenities made it a special mountain getaway location.

The Unique Benefits of this Condominium

We believe we have one of the best mountain views in town. Our family room is 2 storeys tall with a massive window looking out at the 3 Sisters mountain range.
You get a full kitchen (see listing for details)
Fireplace
Romantic, large soaker bathtub in upstairs loft
In unit washer/dryer
Large (42”) TV, XBox 360, DVD, stereo
Access to a large roof top hot tub

Quality through out, from in floor heating, leather couches, high end mattresses on the beds, quality knife set in the kitchen, high end BBQ on the balcony
Down to the little things a lot of other places haven’t thought of such as, tour books of the area, picnic basket, plush towels for the hot tub.

    • We were six people having the pleasure of staying in this condo three weeks in january 09. It's a bit tight to stay six people, as two people has to sleep on the couch - but four would be perfect. Never the less we really enjoyed this place and the rooftop hut-tub is super nice after a whole day of skiing! You need to have a car though if you want to go to the ski resorts, as there at this time only is one bus a day leaving from Radisson. We will definately consider renting this place again!

      Homeowner Response:
The couch referred too is a queen size pull out sofa bed in the open concept family room. With 6 adults the two adults on the sofa bed wouldn't have the same privacy as the people in the bedrooms. The sofa bed when folded in to a couch is the main seating area in the family room. With 3 weeks of folding the sofa bed in and out I can appreciate the comment that the unit started to feel a bit tight. The condo itself is about 950 Sq Ft (90 sq metres) in size. We also recommend having a car to get to the ski resorts in the area.

    • Great 360 view of the mountains. Easy access to all amenities (groceries, liquor store) and a short walk to Main Street. Awesome skiing and boarding within a reasonable drive and relaxing open air hot tub to unwind in afterwards. I’d recommend this condo wholeheartedly and defiantly go back to discover more.

    • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Canmore. The scenery is spectacular from every angle, and I love the location--nestled in among the mountains. The shops were quaint and plenty, as well as the numerous restaurants within walking distance. I would love to stay again one day soon.

    • Great cozy place nestled in the mountains with a fantastic view. The Condo is within walking distance of Canmore’s best shops and restaurants. It is a short drive to Banff and it truly was the home away from home that made our trip that much more amazing. Thank-you so very much.

    • Travelling the globe we always try to find ski-in / ski-out accommodation. Having researched and ascertained that this type of accommodation is extremely limited in the Banff area changed our approach, and what a revelation it was ! Having a vehicle on hand meant that we could pick and choose which location to ski on any given day. Waking up and checking the snow reports clearly showed how the snow-gods roll the dice even on ski areas located relatively close to each other, enabling us to pick our hills and put in the best powder-days we'd ever skiied. Canmore is literally 2 minutes from the Banff park gates, and only a few more to the town of Banff. The access roads to the ski areas at Norquay and Sunshine are a short drive further, my wife was more than happy to drop the family off for a day's skiing so she could sight-see and shop in & around Banff. If you're a member of the jet-set and your idea of a holiday is swanning around in a fur coat & bling, then stay in Banff. If however you prefer practicality, value and flexibility, then hire a vehicle and stay in Canmore. Moreover, stay at Canmore Crossing. The facilities are great, all amenities are walking distance, and it's just a really nice space to holiday in. Finally, any sensible person should have concerns with purchases made over the internet. In this case the owner is trustworthy, honest, helpful and reliable. Acceptance of credit cards provides additional confidence, and there is a well organised local management contact in case of any issues, (redundant due to the property being new and well maintained)

We love the Canmore/Banff/Kananaskis area and believe we've set up our home away from home in one of the best possible areas. We've tried to make the unit feel like home with extras like a picnic basket, extra pillows, warm duvets, DVDs, CD's, books, the unit goes far beyond any hotel you'll find in the area and most other rental homes. We hope you love the place as much as we do. For more guest comments, from the guest book we leave in the suite please search google for "discovervr guestbook" (can't put web addresses in the comments)

"The condo was absolutely fabulous. It was cozy and convenient with all the modern amenities we could possibly want. It was the perfect location for going out at night in Canmore as well as easy access to Banff Park and the various ski hills. We especially liked the roof top hot-tub. It was a great way to relax after a day on the slopes."
