Short boat ride to the Gulf of Mexico where the coastline is virtually untouched and protected with sawgrass. Excellent fishing on the flats for Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackerel, and Red Fish. Offshore Grouper, Snapper and Amber Jack.
Scallop season (July-August) marks Steinhatchee's busiest season. It's great fun for the whole family. Just bring your mask and snorkel. Or just sit on the front porch rocking chair and watch boats cruise by or an occasional Manatee.
Four bedrooms plus loft. Main floor master bedroom has king bed and connecting private bath, the 2nd bedroom on the main floor has queen bed with bath connecting to hallway. The other two bedrooms are upstairs each have two twin beds. The loft, also upstairs has two built in bunks that are large enough to sleep on although they are may be smaller than a twin bed. The upstairs accomodations may not be suited for younger children or older guests because a spiral staircase leads upstairs and all bathrooms are on the main level.

Map & Owner's Profile
Steinhatchee Rivergate 1404
Year Purchased: 2005
Why the Owner Chose Steinhatchee
We both liked the section of river where our house is located. Very pretty and peaceful. Also, it's nice to leave the car parked and just walk to Fiddlers or to the package store. Sometimes we walk to Riverhaven Marina to get an ice cream and visit Charlie the parrot. We keep our boat at the Sea Hag Marina and love to go shopping there. We like to refer to it as the Steinhatchee Mall, a great place to buy souvenirs!
The Unique Benefits at this House
The dock has deep water. At low tide, there is still about 4 feet of water. The very gulf end of the dock is the shallowest and there is an oyster bar about 15 feet out from the center. By boat it's close enough to the gulf to go on a sunset cruise and it's not far to Hungry Howie's dock. Didn't come to Steinhatchee to ride in my car. You can't see the sunset from the top of our house, but you do see some spectacular colors reflecting in the western skys.
Owner's Map of Steinhatchee
We live in Alpharetta, Georgia and we both went to The University of Georgia. It's about a five hour trip to Steinhatchee from our home just North of Atlanta. We enjoy fishing, boating, and just hanging out while in Steinhatchee. Hope you enjoy your stay the folks at the rental office are very helpful, please call them if you need anything.

Being a VRBO owner myself (66075) I can truly say this vacation home is well cared for and managed. The decor is absolutly outstanding. The community is well cared for and maintained. The management people were very nice and helpful. The boat lauch was suitable for our 21 ft. boat. We had a bonfire on the river and attended a wedding at nearby Steinhatchee Landing. We truly enjoyed the place and hope to return sometime.
Owner response:Thank you for staying! We're happy you enjoyed it!

Very nice stay! Gorgeous grounds. House was wonderful. Not your "fishermens shack" by any means. We went up for first weekend of scallop season (which were plentiful) and had a blast. I've lived in Florida all my life but was recently introduced to this sport. Steinhatchee is a quaint town where the people are warm and friendly. A great place for family getaways especially compared to the commercial beach towns. I found the property management company to be SO easy to work with. Our dates and group size kept fluctuating but they never were anything but accommodating and friendly. This was our 10th VRBO rental and no one came close to the service! Imagine! A homemade carrot loaf for guests at checkin! We've stayed at the place down the road before but this will be our new first choice! By the way, loved the mattresses and Ralph Lauren pillows. I am going to try to find them for my bed! We'll be back!

My family just enjoyed our seventh stay at Steinhatchee Rivergate. This home is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and one of the nicest places in Steinhatchee. With the perfect location on the river, beautiful neighboring homes, dock, pool, manicured grounds and the view, it IS the perfect place to spend a weekend, week or month! For my son’s high school graduation weekend, we had four teenage boys (three of which were graduates), his grandma, aunt, cousin and her son, in addition to my husband, daughter and myself. The house accommodated the crowd with ease. After a fun filled day of fishing, playing on a rope swing at Steinhatchee Falls and cooling off in the pool, the outdoor buffet and table allowed for the perfect place for dinner. The boys especially enjoyed the large flat screen TV for playing Xbox (brought from home) in their room. This was a complete and welcomed surprise. Whether you are rocking on the porch, fishing off the dock or sleeping on the lounger outside under the ceiling fan, there is no doubt you and your family will enjoy your stay. It’s truly the perfect place for all ages. We’re looking forward to our next visit. It’s my dream to one day own a house in Steinhatchee Rivergate!
