About the owner: I was transferred to Austin by my employer in 2001, and quickly fell in love with this city. Throughout my career, I have focused on the real estate industry and my love for buying, selling, and renovating properties has continued in the Austin area. My husband and I own several traditional rental properties, but this is our first vacation or short term rental - we love this little house and are so excited about getting to share it with others. We have two teens at Westwood High School - so we currently live in NW Austin where they attend school. This city is full of hidden gems - I know you will enjoy your stay!
Why the Owner Chose East Downtown: We have been watching the East side of Austin transition for several years, and have been interested in buying property here. I love the many unique bars and restaurants that have made this area their home, including Hillside Pharmacy, Blue Delia, East Side Pies and the very popular Franklin's BBQ. This location provides easy access to downtown, UT campus, Zilker Park - but also the entire city via I-35. It still has a cool authentic vive to it, with a mix of original residents, extensively renovated homes and some tear downs to make way for large custom homes. This is currently a second home for us, but we intend to move here permanently when the teens leave for college.
