Lisheen castle was restored from total ruin from 1995 –2000 by the Everard family. Since then it has been run as a family business renting it out as luxury self-catering accommodation. During your stay at Lisheen the entire castle will be exclusive to you and your family or friends making it a very unique experience to be remembered.
The castle is very well located centrally in Ireland in the County of Tipperary making it very accessible to many of the magnificent sites Ireland has to offer so that you can make the most of your trip to Ireland. The castle is located in a rural landscape setting with excellent access from the main routes and is very well located for visiting the southern part of the country from Dublin to Cork. The local town of Thurles is a ten minute drive and is located on the main railway line with 24 hour trains stopping here each day. Excellent horse riding and treking is available in the immediate area.
Dublin is 80 minutes by rail and trains leave almost hourly from the local town of Thurles. Cashel the most visited tourist site in Ireland is 30 mins away and has some very fine restaurants.
A drive over the V and down into Lismore to enjoy the beautiful town ,castle and gardens is an unbeatable way to spend an afternoon. The medieval city of Kilkenny is less than an hour away with its wonderful churches, round tower and Butlers castle( Prince Charles and Camilla visited in 2004)
The river Shannon is also in the local vicinity and has excellent boating facilities.
