This two bedroom, two and a half bath carriage house is 1100 square feet of English Country charm tucked into the woods behind the manor house on a seven acre Brandywine Valley estate. It is ideal for those traveling with children or dogs or those who just want a little more privacy.
First floor has a large fully stocked and equipped kitchen, right down to cloth napkins and table cloths. The dining room is furnished with a large dining table which seats six. The living room is furnished with a sofa, two wing back chairs, a desk, and a corner unit which holds the TV with VCR/DVD player and fireplace. Although not a real wood burning fireplace, it fools the most discerning eyes and offers all the ambiance and romance of a fire (with or without the heat so can be used year round) without the muss and fuss. There is also a powder room and a laundry area with full-size washer and dryer.
Upstairs you will find two bedrooms. The front bedroom has a queen bed with lace canopy and a private hall bath. The back bedroom has a king bed with a huge private en-suite bathroom which has a claw foot slipper tub and separate large walk in shower. Each bedroom has its own television with VCR. Some VCR movies are provided in the carriage house.
The back yard is fenced so your four legged friend can enjoy the property as well. Only a quarter mile away is Darlington Walking trail where walks of four to five miles can be taken. We are also near all the major Brandywine Valley attractions such as Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, Brandywine River Museum (Wyeth museum), Nemours, Hagley Museum, and the Barnes Foundation. Philadelphia is only 35 minutes away or you can easily do a day trip to Lancaster County which is only 1 hour west of us.

Rate Details (In US Dollars)
Rates are based on number of days, number of people occupying the house, and time
of year. We have a 2 night minimum. Nightly rates range from $350-$425/night and
include a full breakfast and housekeeping. Weekly $1500-$2000/week and
do not include breakfast or housekeeping. There is an additional charge for our
4 legged guests & a fully refundable security/cleaning deposit is
required.
