When your adult children live out of state, getting together for a beach weekend at such a great oceanview property, that is affordable, is simply one of the best experiences we all had. The unit was honestly portrayed in photos and description, is very comfortably appointed. The only thing to look into is the faucet in the bathroom barely clears (by a couple of inches) the outer edge of the sink bowl; but that's an easy replacement with a longer neck, centered faucet. Thanks for the great memories!

Re. If you crave the ocean, beach, and have an appreciation for the surrounding surf culture, I have no hesitation recommending this property. Re. a panoramic view, it doesn't get any better (ie. can see dolphins (and surfers) from the balcony). It is the best place to enjoy the sunset (other than the fantastic rooftop that is part of the common area). Very secure and safe (including the reserved car park). The clean unit comes complete with everything you need. We always felt a sense of relief when we returned after touring for the day (tranquil environment). There's great cycling & bike rentals in the area. Excellent area for walking or running. You should have a car if you wish to go 'upscale' re. shopping or fine dining (the immediate area has a laidback 'vibe' that has strong ties with the local surf scene and beach culture.

A Perfect Beach Getaway

When my husband and I first walked into the condo our immediate reaction was 'WOW'. We wanted a perfect week on the beach for our Nov. anniversary and that is exactly what we got. The condo is beautifully appointed and includes everything you need for a week (or more) of comfortable living. We both love to cook so having a Trader Joe's and a Sprouts within walking distance was ideal. Of course there are numerous restaurants to walk to also. The beach was easy access and there is a lovely heated pool for the less adventuresome (me). I cannot say enough nice things about Laura, the owner, who facilitated our stay with ease, answering all our questions and quickly responding to our emails. It was perfect.

Beautiful Beach Retreat

My family loved this condo! One of our favorite VRBO experiences. The view and location right on Pacific Beach were incredible. The grocery store and several restaurants were close to the condo. The condo was very clean and stylish, and the staff in the Capri building were really friendly and made us feel welcome. We had plenty of towels for the beach, and the kitchen had all the necessary amenities for our comfort. We hope to return soon for another visit.

We had a great family vacation here. Laura, the owner, was so easy to deal with from start to finish. The condo is well maintained and it is decorated and updated beautifully. It is a wonderful place to relax and listen to the ocean. We loved being able to walk to many restaurants. Some of our favorites were The Green Lantern, Surfside Sushi and Fat Fish. There is also a heated pool available, which we used several times. I would highly recommend this condo to family and friends.

We just returned San Diego last night and couldn't have Ben more pleased with Laura's condo. Beautiful pce with just the right amount of space for our family if four. Every morning. Opened the large sliding Door in the living room so we could hear the ocean waves at all times. I ws there for q conference downtown and am so thqnkfulnwe chose this cindi in PB vs. Hotel downtown. Takes 15-20 to get downtown, incredibly easy at all times and days. Heated pool was wonderful for kiddos. Places to eat that were wonderful: The Fishery, a walk from condition, moderately priced seafood. Delicious! There's a microbrewery just down the boardwalk from condo, forget the name, that had great beers and delicious all you can eat crab in tuesday night. The Shores in LaJolla. Beautiful view, beautiful food and wine. Sea world was our favorite day time Activity besides relaxing in Beach and in pool. Miss it already! Thank you Laura. My 3 year olds favorite was watching surfers our our window from dawn til dusk.

My wife and I highly recommend this condo at Pacific Beach, San Diego. The condo offers a great view of the ocean along with the sound of the surf, while the north end of Pacific Beach attracts many pelicans (Bird Rock) as well as surfers. We found the combination provided a very relaxing vacation atmosphere. The condo tower is also conveniently located within walking distance of many restaurants, coffee shops and grocery stores. It was an added benefit that there was ready access for handicapped cars at the front entrance so my parents-in-law were able to easily visit for dinner from their home in the neighboring town of La Jolla. The condo is well-maintained and the recently renovated kitchen is fully stocked with kitchen utensils and appliances. We use VRBO condo rentals every year and this condo has been one of our best experiences to-date.

Our family spent a week here and it was absolutely breathtaking. We were treated to a beautiful ocean view from the moment we walked in. We cannot say enough about how great the owners and property are! Everything is updated, clean, and comfortable. We would highly recommend this condo and also a magnificent Italian restaurant nearby called Endoteca Adriana. Another must-see is the La Jolla coves. We wish our vacation didn't have to end and hope to return someday soon!

When we arrived, we were pleasantly greeted be the beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and upon opening the sliding glass door, the sound of the waves fills the place! Wonderful. Great central location to all of San Diego's many fun things to do, walking distance to many great restaurants. The location of the pool facility was not ideal (you have to leave the building and walk down the alley behind) but nice nonetheless with warm pool, hot tub and sauna. Look for the rinse off area in the garage with sign saying "bather's entrance" after coming up from the beach, we missed that the first day and didn't know where to go to rinse off the sand!

Had a great stay in this property. Clean, attractive, very well decorated condo in GREAT location. Security and other staff very cordial and helpful; owner came thru with flying colors. Would definitely recommend it, and will return if possible! DON"T MISS Coronado Island (especially Hotel Del tour, as well as the lighthouse at Point Loma. Beautiful!!!

My husband, son and I had a wonderful stay in this condo recently. It is truly right on the beach. I loved that we could open the sliding glass door and see and listen to the waves as though we were sitting on the sand. The condo is very nice and clean and well decorated. We also had everything we needed for cooking, cleanup, etc. The beach toys, umbrella, blanket and other beach stuff was also great to have. There are also a number of great places to eat within an easy walk. Kono's is so cheap and right on the ocean, a great place for a breakfast by the sea. The parking also worked out great as the space is right by the lobby entrance so there wasn't far to go with our stuff. With my 16-month-old son we were thankful to have the highchair and pack-n-play. Thanks so much to Laura for answering all of our questions so helpfully and quickly. We had a great time and hope to go back again soon.

What a way to unwind

Our family stayed at Laura's PB condo for a week late in August. As luck would have it, we ran into some very warm weather and our stay was perfect. For most of the summer San Diego was experiencing a very cold summer, however we were greeted by temps in the high 70's which was perfect for the beach. Rowena was tremendous and so welcoming upon our arrival and gave us some tips on some wonderful restaurants just a few blocks away. The condo was spectacular. Every time we walked in the door, the view was awe inspiring. The condo association has lots of rules and one of the guards is very strict, but they give you enough warnings, so just talk to your kids about the rules. Just walking on the beach or the boardwalk was relaxing, we watched dolphins right from our living room window and took adavantage of the state of the art kitchen. La Jolla is a 5 minute drive north, while Mission Beach and Mission Bay are close enough to walk to. We would definitely like to stay here again.

Capri at the Sea was a wonderful place to spend our vacation! Very nice condo and Rowena and Kristin were so helpful and friendly with all of our questions and our kids especially loved all the goodies they left in the condo to welcome us. Lots of restaurants and shopping. Lots of time at the beach. Great location, 20-25 minutes to the Convention Center, La Jolla, and the Zoo. Great Condo- Great Location

This is a great vacation Condo in a great beach location. The room comes well furnished including all of the dishes, utensils, pots & pans; towels (including beach towels), and it even has boogie boards, sand toys, chairs and beach umbrellas in the hall closet. Our family was on the beach most of the time we were there. The walk to the beach was easy and the building has a good outdoor area to wash the sand off before going up (with heated water). The kitchen is a full kitchen that even has a dishwasher so no fear of eating in, but there are plenty of places to eat out within walking distance. There is Wi-Fi access for the room with high speed internet and 2 large flat-screen televisions that allowed us to use our computer for Netflix instant movie access; and we were able to e-mail pictures to the grandparents daily. The beach is soft sand with surf waves that were also not too much for the kids. Lifeguards are on patrol for added piece of mind. The view of the beach is spectacular from the living room. Bikes can be rented nearby for trips along the dedicated bike path. The parking is secure and the way into and out of San Diego is a breeze. We wholeheartedly recommend staying here!

We stayed in this condo for our first family vacation. We enjoyed every minute from the time we got up each morning to see how many surfers were surfing until the time we watched the beautiful sunsets and fell asleep listening to the crashing waves. The condo was clean, very well-maintained, and updated. It is in a great location with easy access to the beach, as well as nearby attractions like Sea World (which we visited on more than one occasion!). Try Kono's for a delicious (and inexpensive) breakfast that'll hold you over until dinner! The included covered parking space is a BIG plus in our book, and the high chair and bed rail were very much appreciated. Great communication with Laura prior to our arrival; she answered our questions very quickly. Plus, it was great knowing Rowena and Christine were available to answer ANY questions we had during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and can't wait until we can return!

Being from england, we don't really celebrate Thanksgiving and always make the most of the time off work and go away on vacation. This year we decided to go to San Diego and was instantly drawn to the condo at Pacific beach. When we got there, it exceeded our expectations. Right on the beach, the sound of the ocean was mesmerizing. We were made to feel very welcome with fresh fruit, candy and cookies (for our kids). The condo did not lack anything, it probably was one of the better equiped vacation properties we have stayed at!! We felt at home instantly! If only our real home had the same view and sound of the ocean!!! We loved the location, within walking distance of great bars and restaurants. We had Thanksgiving dinner at JDRN, along the boardwalk, which was fantastic. When I ask our kids what their favourite thing was, they say, the frozen yogurt at YogurtLand! Just around the corner (near Denny's)!! We loved San Diego, so much to see and do, I think we will definitely be back!! Thanks again!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at "Capri by the Sea" and found everything we needed in the condo. The kids were so grateful for the boogie boards and that ended up being their favorite thing to do! The kitchen was nicely equipped and the bathroom was wonderful. It was great to have a laundry down the hall and we felt very secure with the guard in the lobby and the special key fobs. We also took advantage of the rooftop grill and great views. Probably the best thing about the condo was its location: we were within a 10-15 minute drive of everywhere we wanted to go. Thanks for opening your place to us!

We stayed in this Condo in July 2009 for a week! It was absolutely amazing! We had a great time in San Diego, the condo looked right onto PB, we usually sat with the door open listening to the Ocean! There are 2 large BBQ's available which we made good use of! The condo is in a great location just minutes from shops, restaurants, bars, bus stops, and literally 10 steps from the beach! Security was great also! We really loved the Condo and I reckon we'll be back again!!!

From the moment we booked Laura's condo in Pacific Beach-it was a great and very organized experience. The pictures on the listing do not do justice to the beautiful views right outside the sliding glass door. Rowena was wonderful when we checked in-making suggestions for Sea World, restaurants, and transportation to the US Open. She was also available when we needed information about the condo or the area for the entire week. The condo is beautiful and in a great location close to La Jolla and San Diego. Our kids really enjoyed the heated pool after a long day of sightseeing. We will definitely book with Laura again on our next trip to Southern California!

On a scale of 1 to 10, we'd rate this experience -- a 100!!! The condo is absolutely gorgeous, well-appointed, comfortable and with all sorts of conveniences and amenities provided. The view from the unit is absolutely stunning, and every day, we saw dolphins frolicking in the ocean -- a totally unexpected delight! Everything posted on the web-site, pictures and all, was absolutely accurate, and we'd echo all the positive comments prior guests have made. We loved the location, with a nearby grocery, multiple restaurants (The French Gourmet was a personal favorite!), and of course, all its nearby recreational opportunities -- walking on the beach, biking along the ocean, shopping or simply relaxing by the pool or in the condo with a book (and that glorious view!) Even the weather cooperated, being sunny and warm virtually the entire time, during mid to late January -- a far cry from the weather back home in Wisconsin! For those with concerns, the security in the building is failsafe, and the laundry rooms were very handy for our two-week stay. Finally, we truly can't say enough about our hosts! Laura Vail Sage was lovely and went out of her way to accomodate us in every way, and to promptly address any questions or concerns we had. And it was truly wonderful having Rowena on-site to welcome us, offer us recommendations, and solve any problems that might arise. She's an absolute dear and it was lovely knowing she was available at the end of the phone, and close enough to stop by if the need arose. She would bend over backwards for a guest, and her knowledge and competence, her kindness and her personal charm ensured that everything about our stay was far more than satisfactory. In fact, she was responsible for some of the most delightful times we had during our stay in Pacific Beach! Perhaps the best measure of all of our our complete and utter delight in our two weeks at the Sage's condo at Capri by the Sea, is the fact that we decided, before even departing for home, to re-book for the following year!

We really enjoyed our time in this condo - great view and really well appointed with big fluffy towels and nice bed linens, and lots of beautiful tilework throughout. We LOVED staying in your condo!!! The only major problem we had was that it was so nice & the view so beautiful, that we had a hard time getting going in the mornings--not a bad problem to have, eh? My mother-in-law had a wonderful time, which make us happy, as we had planned this as a special trip for her. She had never seen the ocean (on either coast), so she couldn't believe that she was waking up to it every day. I think if we had done nothing but just stayed in the condo, she would have been happy. Some friends of hers who now live in San Marcos came to pick her up to take her to lunch couldn't believe the view! I wouldn't be surprised if you hear from them sometime, as they asked for the web site. Besides everything else, it was so nice to meet Rowena - so nice to have someone welcome us and to know that if we needed anything she was just a phone call away with all kinds of recommendations. Very personable and knowledgeable. We seem to return to San Diego at least every couple of years, so we hope your unit will be available when we return. It is not only a beautiful place to stay, but very convenient to everything we like to do.

We just returned from our Thanksgiving holiday at this AMAZING condo. Everything the previous visitors have raved about is true. This condo has it all!! We decided to cook Thanksgiving dinner at the condo and let me tell everyone, the condo was not lacking for anything to prepare a Thanksgiving spread of all the traditional dishes (even a cookbook, which came in very handy as well). It is truly a HOME away from HOME!! The only difference was we where looking at the beautiful ocean and hearing its sounds instead of starring at SNOW !! The location couldn't be better,close to grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants (let me recommend the FIREHOUSE and Kono's Cafe) all within walking distance. This was truly the most memorable Thanksgiving celebration we have had and I would like to thank the Sage's and their Property Manager for providing their home with everything needed to accomplish that. We will definitely stay here every time we return to San Diego.

We found the condo at Capri by the Sea to be very well fitted out and clean. The location was first class and there was plenty to do. One of the problems we had was getting the TV repaired and we were without service for three days which was not helped by the fact that I broke a bone in my foot on the beach and was basically house bound. We also could have done with a welcome pack with a map of the immediate local area and the various shops in which to get groceries as we did not have a car.

Owner response:There was another TV in the bedroom for renter's use. We appologize for the problem - the high humidity this summer has taken out TV's in many beach front units. We have replaced this TV with a new flat screen TV for renter's enjoyment. Laura Sage

We had a fabulous time at this condo. The owners are exceptionally easy to rent from. Great location - easy to get to Sea World, Zoo, restaurants, etc... Right on a gorgeous beach that is not full of under 25 partiers. One of the few places in San Diego that is on the beach and has a pool. We would definately rent here again.

I have to say that our stay was absolutley beautiful!! The Condo, The View, Location. Everything was above our expectations!! I cant say enough!! We will Definitely will book again when we return to San Diego and I will recommend this Unit to anyone who may visit. I want to thank the Sage's for always being so very pleasant and also for being very prompt with any responses to the questions we had. Once again thank you for all the Wonderful Memories!!

Our stay at the condo was wonderful! It was absolutely beautiful. The view, the weather, the furnishings and atmosphere... all of it was perfect. My family and I would like to thank the Sage's for sharing their place and allowing us a truly relaxing environment to have our vacation. The beds were very comfy, the living room is great because you can relax anywhere on the couch and enjoy the view. And the kitchen is marvelous! The pool is only a few steps away and there are plenty of places to dine within walking distance. My husband and I definitely want to come again. I can't thank you enough. We are so lucky to have found the perfect place to stay.

We live in San Diego and decided this year to actually vacation here instead of flying away somewhere. I found this Oceanfront condo and booked it online, easily, and hoped it would all work out. INCREDIBLE! The property has everything you could need and is extremely comfortable. This met and defintely excceeded our expectations.

This place is perfect, it is spacious, clean, bright and literally right on the beach. Great location-it's a 5 minute walk to the main strip in Pacific Beach, filled with restaurants, shops and bars. The Sage's are extremely pleasant and accomodating and returned our deposit promptly. When we return to San Diego, we will definitely stay here again!

Our family had a wonderful time at the Capri. The condo was very comfortable and the view was spectacular. Beautiful sunsets, surfers and even dolphins were visible from the living room. Security was very good although the area seemed pretty safe and we walked to many of the shops and restaurants. Next time we plan a trip to San Diego we hope to stay here again as this was an ideal place for a small family. Thanks Laura!

I stayed in the unit for almost 3 weeks. The unit overall was clean and in good repair. The view was SPECTACULAR! The neighborhood was quiet and safe, however, just a few blocks away were lots of bars, food and shopping. The security staff was pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend this unit, it's location is ideal and it has all of the ammenities necessary to make your stay enjoyable

We enjoyed the wide Pacific views (and sunsets) so much that we fixed and ate dinner every night in the condo. There was simply no place else in San Diego where we could have had such a great view and refreshing ocean breeze. The location is great for watching surfers and all those others who enjoy Pacific Beach. We'll definately rent here again.

Upon entering the condo, the first word from our mouths was WOW! A million dollar view, lovely & comfortable accommodations and a great location for activities, dining, etc. The one issue we had was having to leave! We will definitely stay at Capri by the Sea #604 again!
