Best Spring Break Yet

Guest: Dmitry (Brooklyn, NY)
Date of Stay: 04/06/12 Review Submitted: 05/11/12

My two friends and I came here during our spring break with the sole purpose of getting away from the hectic life of NYC to regain our sanity, figuratively speaking. It's been a whole month since we came back and I still feel refreshed and well-rested. It was the best vacation I've had for the body and mind in the past three years. We got very lucky with the weather and we couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere to just relax and wander around at our leisure. My personal favorite part of the house was definitely the backyard, which is super spacious, quiet, and beautifully organized. There are tons of things to do in the area. Everyone should check out the Kaaterskill Falls and the Five State Lookout, both have amazing scenery. Overall, this house and neighborhood allowed for the perfect combination of relaxation and activity, and neither I nor my friends had any complaints, all of us would definitely come here again. Also, Elizabeth (the owner of the property) was very attentive and helpful in making sure our stay was perfectly comfortable, and is a great, amiable person. I think it's worth mentioning that when I forgot my leather jacket after having already left the place, she mailed it to my home address the very next day, and even sent me an email confirmation with a picture of it so I wouldn't worry. Thank you Elizabeth for the perfect getaway!

Awesome vacation spot!

Myself and two girlfriends arrived at the Pine Ridge Farm on a Sunday afternoon to find Liz, the owner, outside amidst of her horses, wild turkeys, deer and other wildlife. We stayed in the Carriage house for three days. the house was emaculate and Liz has assured everything you possibly would need is available. The house had plenty of room and was extemely comfortable and welcoming. Liz provided us with dinner recommendations closeby which turned out to be delicious! Each morning we woke to sunny skies and beautiful scenery. Each night we had a fire in the BBQ fireplace. Everything about our stay was great; the hostess, the property, the hiking and the animals. The property has walking trails for all levels and across the street is another accommadation that we toured which looked wonderful as well. We are thinking about brining more friends and staying longer. This is a great place for families, friends or couples. Thanks Liz!!

The best place to stay for the getaway from city life

Guest: Claire's Dad (Queens, NY)
Date of Stay: 01/25/12 Review Submitted: 02/06/12

I've been travelling to Catskills region for the past few years and also other places in the northeastern region. Pine Ridge Farm has been the best experience by far. First, my wife never like the decor inside of any rental/hotel, but this time she was impressed. Believe me she is very difficult to please as far as designs and decorations go. I was surprised to hear her actually compliment a place on its decor. Second, they provide everything you need to make it your home for the duration of your stay. In the past, I always ended up buying things like knife that actually cuts and pots that actually let your food out of it in one piece, but none of that was needed as the place had everything in top working order. they have things that one wouldnt expect to see in a rental like extensive spice rack, plastic wrap, and dinnerware that you would want to use. Third, the view in the morning and evening just took my breath away. The deer and turkey in the pictures really do show up in front of the house. Overall, if you are heading to Catskills for anything, this is the place to go. It'll make your getaway that much sweeter and memorable.

A great getaway

Guest: Yael (New York City, NY)
Date of Stay: 11/05/11 Review Submitted: 11/19/11

My husband, my 3-year-old twin boys and I, visited the guest house at Pine Ridge Farm for a 3-night stay and we really enjoyed the place. It is very peaceful and quiet and Liz is a wonderful hostess and was really great with the kids. She let them feed the horses and the geese, took them for a ride in the forest in a small truck, and even taught them how to use an old water pump. They had a blast (not to mention the deers). The house was spotless and even had a washing machine and a dryer. The outside fire place was a great addition, and yes, it does look like the pictures in case you're still wondering.

A Great Honeymoon Spot!!

Guest: verny (gouverneur, NY)
Date of Stay: 08/30/11 Review Submitted: 10/21/11

We absolutely loved the guesthouse! The area is beautiful, and Liz is just about the sweetest hostess. We wanted to do some activities, and Liz was a great help finding some things for us to do, even though the area was flooded and there were limited things open in the close vicinity. It was so much fun watching the deer and turkeys in our front yard, the babies kicking and playing, and it was overall a very peaceful atmosphere. The house is gorgeous, with great decorating, it looks like something from a magazine :) (And I might add, just long enough for your new husband to chase you around! :D ) Hats off to Liz for the best vacation I've had yet, and we will definitely be returning plus have already begun recommending her to everyone we know.

Guest: Julie (Brooklyn)
Date of Stay: 07/29/11 Review Submitted: 08/01/11

The guest house is a nice clean house with all amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The back yard was the main attraction for me - so huge for any standards, privately enclosed, and very relaxing. Outdoor fireplace was great for roasting marshmallows. Lots of wildlife, we saw wild turkeys, deer, rabbit, chipmunks. The host Elizabeth is very attentive and caring. She kindly let my kids feed the horses, pet them, and even ride bareback! Also, she gave us an amazing tour of the property on a truck. The property is beautiful, I would definitely recommend visiting for anyone who is looking to relax, loves nature, and wants peace and quite, great for kids.

Date of Stay: 07/24/11 Review Submitted: 08/05/11

My husband and I came to Pine Ridge Farm just a few weeks ago for a small vacation (due to financial situations) after our wedding. As soon as we got there, Liz greeted us and took us into the guest house where we had balloon decorations hanging on a chair and candles (just like we had asked). The place was beautiful! So quiet and calm the whole time! Liz has an amazing love for the outdoors and we were so appreciative of the time she took taking us out on her gator and showing us all around the property. It is absolutely stunning! Highly recommend this place- whether it is for a week or a few nights- it is not hard to feel like you're right at home. Thanks to Liz for everything she did for us!

We had an amazing time at Pine Ridge Farm. Watching deer and turkeys at the doorstep every morning and afternoon was great fun. Liz welcomed us whole heartedly and made us feel at home. She also let us feed carrots and take pictures with her horses, which every one of us loved. This was followed by ATV ride around her beautiful property and a rowing boat session in the water body in her farm. The house is immaculate, beautiful and very well equipped. The kitchen has almost everything that one could need…like a complete spice rack, all kinds of utensils, frosted mugs in the deep freezer etc. We were really awed with the beauty of the entire farm. We also barbequed in the yard and sat around the fire pit. All in all our long weekend stay was very soothing and comfortable.

The house is equipped with everything that you might possibly need during the stay and furnished with great taste and attention to detail. The surrounding land is beautifully landscaped and maintained by the owners. Flowers are everywhere ! Liz was very accommodating and welcoming host, trying to make the stay as pleasurable as it can be. Had a chance to view a lot of wildlife on the surrounding territory and backyard..... Date of Stay: 04/01/11 Review Submitted: 04/09/11

My wife, 11-month-old daughter and I, stayed at ther Pine Ridge Farms guesthouse for a weekend with our friends - another couple and child. The house had plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 small children. It was also very nice and homey and impecably maintained with love, care and plenty of personal touches from the owner. The owner herself was incredibly personable and welcoming, full of wonderful stories and a genuine desire to make your stay memorable and to help you enjoy the full beauty of the Catskills region. The entire experience was very child friendly, including an opportunity for the girls to play with the local animals (horses, geese, turkeys, etc.) which the girls loved. The property itself is great with plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature. Great place to stay! Highly recommend.

We had a terrific time this pass weekend at this farm. We have stayed with our 2 yr old daughter, who had an absolute BLAST feeding and riding the horses, feeding the geese, the deer... Liz, is an incredibly warm host. She gave us an tour around her huuuge property, made sure our we got everything we needed for our stay and much beyond that. We have stayed with another couple and their infant and we have found the house spotless, very well decorated ( even better than on the pictures), with a great backyard and a fireplace. a MUST!

We stayed at the guest house for a long ski weekend. We chose the place because it looked very homey and we were excited to see the wildlife in the pictures. We were not disappointed. The place was well cared for and Liz had many unexpected conveniences in the kitchen such as tea bags, hot chocolate, sugar, and even sodas in the fridge. Liz was very helpful in recommending local restaurants. We enjoyed nearby skiing in the day and watching movies together in the evenings. The deer and turkey came by several times a day and we always enjoyed watching them. Thanks, Liz!

Unbelievable Anniversary/Valentines Day Weekend

Guest: Pete (Yonkers)
Date of Stay: 02/11/11 Review Submitted: 02/22/11

I just want to start out saying that Liz is the most helpful and accommodating person I've ever met. I informed her it was a getaway for my girlfriend and I for a special Anniversary Valentines day weekend. Instantly i received a list of special things she can do for us. I would get pictures almost every day of how the room would be presented as we walked in. My Girlfriend was so excited when we arrived to see about 10 deer hanging out on the front lawn. From there she opened the door and was met with cheese and crackers in the living room. She walked through the kitchen to the dining room where she was saw the red candles, Flowers, Balloons, 2 Bottles of her favorite wine, and a tray of her favorite desserts all presented perfectly just for her. She was speechless... Not to mention that the house itself is just so beautiful and cozy. We didn't want to leave!!! We eventually left that night for dinner, Liz had recommended an excellent restaurant that we went to the first night and the food was spectacular. The next morning we went and had breakfast at another location that Liz recommended. Another Homerun... Such a great weekend, and it ended on such a high note.... As we gave the keys back to Liz she showed us her horses... My girlfriend was able to feed them and we have some beautiful shots of the horses with the trees and mountains in the background... Thank You Liz again for EVERYTHING!!!! Pete

Elizabeth was just fantastic in every way. She even made some very delicious appetizer for us on our second day of stay. We (guests) all agree to come and stay there as soon as possible. I, without a doubt, give it 5 star experience. Thank you, Elizabeth.

Guest: Steve (Brooklyn, NY, USA)
Date of Stay: 12/24/10 Review Submitted: 01/02/11

The owner Liz was lovely, showing great attention to get us settled and acquainted with the surrounding area. The guest house had more than enough space for the two of us and was well heated in a chilly late December. The kitchen was very well equipped with the obvious pots and utensils, but also much we had not expected like aluminum foil, cooking oil, a spice rack, and more. The property is a beautiful 30 minute drive to Windham Mtn and about 45 minutes to Hunter Mtn. We stayed over Christmas 2010 and certainly had a memorable time, sadly cut a little short by the approach of a major blizzard.

We enjoyed our vacation in Guest House. Elizabeth is a great host and very friendly. Guest house is very clean, beautiful and fully stocked with everything you would need for your vacation, we couldn't think of anything else to ask for. Kitchen has sodas, coffee and some spices for cooking. It has private backyard and it's very nice for barbecue. Our 9 year old daughter had a chance to ride one of her horses. It was her first experience riding a horse and she was pretty happy and excited. We also met with deer and turkeys. Entire farm is very beautiful. We would go there again in the future.

A blissful week away from big city

Guest: Leon (New York City)
Date of Stay: 08/06/10 Review Submitted: 10/05/11

We stayed at the guesthouse during the second week of August 2011 with our fourteen year old son and fourteen month old baby. It was a wonderful, idyllic experience and the exceptional tranquillity of the place was everything we had longed and hoped for (you will understand this if you are from New York). Everyday we were visited by wild turkeys and wild deer on our front lawn. A white rabbit greeted us every morning in our huge private back yard (the back yard is hidden from neighbors and passer-bys from all sides). We had barbeques and made fire in an outdoor fireplace every night. But the gem of the place is Liz, an incomparable hostess and closest neighbor– she lives across the road in her beautiful cottage, about a hundred yards away. We visited her quite often, since my sons were in love with her horses…

We had a wonderful time at Pine Ridge Farm. Elizabeth made us feel so welcomed. I enjoyed my conversations with her especially the first time i spoke to her on the phone. I saw her website and had some questions about availability. Well, that conversation turned into a 1 hr talk where we conversed about her farm, our love for animals, and our children. When i got off the phone i had a great feeling that we would have a fabulous time at her place. We did!! Our girls enjoyed watching the deer and turkeys visit our house every morning and afternoon. They named the 3 woodpeckers who visited us everyday. We had the opportunity to feed the horses which we all loved. The Guest House is a short drive to Windham which we did have a great time but our girls wanted to get back to the house to see the animals. The house had all the amenities we need for our family of four. We hunkered down and ate dinner watching the deer eat there dinner outside. We hope to visit again and maybe bring some friends next year. WE shall see. J. Murray

Our family had a wonderful time at Pine Ridge Farm . We stayed in the guest house. It was charming, comfortable, and very clean. We really felt at home. The guest house had everything you could imagine needing. The kitchen was stocked with spices for cooking, frosted mugs in the freezer, complimentary sodas and coffee just to name a few. Our children had a wonderful time snow tubing at Windham Mt. I think they enjoyed feeding Elizabeth's horses even more. Elizabeth was so gracious with our kids. She supplied carrots to feed the horses and helped take pictures of the kids on the horses as well. She also gave us food to feed the wild turkeys on the front lawn of the guest house. It was thrilling to see the wild turkeys, deer, and even woodpeckers outside of our window everyday. We were really impressed with the beauty of the entire farm.We will definitely be back. My husband and I spent this past weekend at the Guest House. What a wonderful, relaxing, refreshing weekend it was! The house was cozy and immaculate. Liz and Mike stock the house with everything you could possibly need. Definitely all the comforts of a home away from home. We went to the store to buy some groceries for our meals and other than that, we pretty much stayed on the premises. We BBQ'd in the yard and sat around the fire pit the first night; the second day it snowed....it was so beautiful and serene. On our last day, Liz gave us a tour of her beautiful house and I met her horses. Liz and Mike were fantastic hosts...there if you need them, not there if you don't. I would definitely recommend the Guest House. I came back renewed and rejuvinated. The grounds and the wildlife are beautiful. The deer visit several times a day. One morning I counted 16 deer in the front yard. I can't say enough about our weekend. We plan to stay there again when the weather is warmer and all of Liz's beautiful flowers are in bloom. : )

We spent our nights relaxing in the backyard in front of the fire pit and stargazing. It was absolutely beautiful. Liz was wonderful to us and super nice. Two weeks ago, I went to the Pine Ridge Farm "Resort" with my wife and three of our children. As soon as we arrived we were taken back by the peaceful surrounding atmosphere. The wildlife that lives on the property was a nice welcome to my children. When we came inside, we were pleasantly surprised by our accommodations. The house was very spacious, spotless clean & comfortable. It had everything we needed. From linens, towels, bathrobes, detergents to dishes (ceramic & paper) galore, etc. Liz even prepared insect repellant & scented tea lights that we used when we went outside in the evenings. The outdoor amenities included a grill, fireplace, hammocks & outdoor furniture. In the evenings we had a B-B-Q or we ate dinner around the fireplace in the yard in the serenity of the beautiful environment. The scenery was just amazing. The first morning, Liz took us on her gator (tractor) ride for a tour of the property. We really enjoyed (especially my children) the tour. We also met her horses and all of the animals. Liz even gave us food to feed the horses. There are plenty of attractions in the area. We spent five days and still didn’t cover everything. From Kaaterskill Falls, North / South Lake, Howe & Secret Caverns, Hudson Fire Museum, Lighthouses, Round Top Raptor Show & Hunter Mountain Skyride. In addition, there are many excellent day-hikes.I would recommend the Pine Ridge Farm “Resort” to anyone who wants to get away from the hectic day-to-day city life to a quiet and relaxing time. Weather it’s for a weekend get away or for a longer stay, you won't be disappointed. Our only complaint is that time has gone so quick. As they say “time flies when you are having fun”.

We had a wonderful stay at the Pine Ridge Farm Guest house. The house was very cozy and comfortable. My baby 18 month old slept well there than home. My husband and I really enjoyed sitting by the fire and peaceful atmosphere. And we loved seeing the wild turkeys and deer everyday. First of all, Liz was very friendly and helpful. She treated us with generosity and thoughtfulness. It was a great vacation and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation.

My family enjoyed a wonderful stay at the guest house at Pine Ridge Farm. The accommodations were great, the property beautiful and spacious. Liz was very friendly and helpful, giving us a tour of the property and her beautiful home, as well as assisting us in recovering our forgotten rain jackets. We enjoyed living amongst the deer and wild turkeys. We visited Catskill State Park and hiked to the Kaaterskill falls. We kayaked the Catskill and Hudson river. We would very much love to return again.

My wife four kids and myself were guests at Pineridge Farms this summer and we stayed for ten days. We found our house clean, neat and fully stocked with everything you would need for a stay away from home. The property is beautiful with immaculate lawns and pretty flowers. Every evening as we sat at the porch winding down from the day 2-4 deer would inconspicuously make their way to the front lawn to graze, literally 50 feet away from where we were sitting. as long as were we didn't make sudden movements they would continue to graze, they made amazing photos of my kids with the deer in the background. right across the road is where Liz stays, our great host. She was very accommodating to us and our children. She has a great nack for giving her guests the privacy they need while at the same time being available for anything from more BBQ coals to the best spots for fishing. The only downside for us was that there is no pool for the kids to splash in on a hot day-we compensated by going out each day and visiting the nearby attractions.

I waited 43 years to find a woman as great and good as the one I married just a few short weeks ago. There were two things that complemented her magnificient loveliness: we had perfect weather for our (outdoor) wedding, after weeks of torrential downpours, and we had an absolutely wonderful place to stay for our honeymoon. The neighborhood was rural and peaceful and tucked away in some of the prettiest country I have ever seen; the house was absolutely charming; and our hosts were as welcoming and gracious as any you could ever hope to find. We had nothing but enchanting experiences the entire week we stayed; and if i had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.

My husband and I spent a week of our honeymoon at the Guest House and loved it! The Giojas have really thought of everything you could possibly need and are very friendly and helpful. The location is convenient to many of the attractions in the area. And we loved seeing the wild turkeys and deer every morning. It was a wonderful honeymoon and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation.

Our party rented both houses for a weekend in May. The houses were immaculate and more than we expected, with comfortable beds and all modern conveniences. We found it to be a great value for the money. Our hosts, the Giojas, were most accommodating. Upon arrival, Liz took us on a guided tour of their extensive property on an ATV, which was an adventure in itself. The view was scenic with abundant wildlife. In sum, we definitely plan to go back again.

We just spent an amazing weekend at the Pine Ridge Farm Guesthouse. The house is beautifully maintained, clean and has everything you would need/want and then some. I definitely recommend the guest house especially for the private backyard where you will probably see the wild turkeys hanging out in the morning. You can barbecue, sit by the fire and just enjoy the peaceful atmosphere you hope for on a vacation. If you like to hike I highly recommend going to Catskill State Park to the Kaaterskill falls. It's a beautiful hike! After returning from our hike we had a fantastic tour of the property from Liz and then explored on our own. The horses are extremely friendly and become even more so when you feed them a few carrots. We had a brilliant time and will absolutely be back! Thanks!!

Hi all, I highly recommend the guest house for your next vacation stay, just make sure you don't take any of my weekends because i plan on coming back often. I stayed for the vday weekend which is also my bday weekend and had a great time. The weather was nice, the area beautiful, and Liz made us feel very at home. For a birthday treat i got to pet, feed, and ride one of her horses. It was my first horseride ever. I loved it, and Liz I will see you soon!! haha

I stayed in the Guest House this past weekend with my best friend, her boyfriend, and my boyfriend; and we had a wonderful time. The owner was so welcoming especially since we were very far from home. The place was beautiful and well equipped with everything you would need to feel at home. She made us feel very comfortable in numerous ways. For instance, she had everything you would need and more in the kitchen including various spices for cooking. In addition she supplied us with the starter kit for the camp fire, I thought that was very nice of her considering many other places do not. On our last day there she allowed all of us to ride her horses and take pictures. I would recommand this place to anyone!!! We are definitely going back in the Spring!!!

Had a very nice stay over the Christmas holiday. Liz and family were very accommodating, we had lots of snow and the family made sure that we were able to get in and out safely. My son and I loved seeing the wild turkeys and the deer roaming the property. The house was warm, cozy and clean. Would stay again in the future.

I have travelled for almost the whole world. And I can assure that this one is one of the places that captivate me. The house is wonderful, full of light, clean, spacious, calm, the reindeers come to the door, the sky has a special color due to the light. For everybody that live under stress in the city, there is the best way of disconnecting. Elizabeth, the owner is a charming woman, of opened character, and with a big smile. She receives us like her neighbours. *In Spanish I can say: Este es un lugar que te engancha todo el tiempo.
