This charming, one-bedroom, pool-side cottage on a five-acre estate setting is the perfect escape for a couple wanting to relax and explore the Orleans and Lower Cape Area as well as the rest of the Cape and Islands. Fantastic gardens and grounds surround this peaceful and romantic spot. Great birdwatching right on the property. Renters may enjoy the large, heated pool Memorial Day weekend until mid-October. Large, comfortably furnished living room, fully-equipped kitchen, cozy loft queen-size bedroom. Air conditioned and heated, this cottage is available weekly year round, including Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks. This rental is appropriate for two or three persons, aged 8 or older.

This property has been featured in many garden tours and was also featured in the Coffee Table Book, "Cape Cod Gardens and Houses," published in 1995. In 2004, the property served as a location for a Dateline NBC segment.

Great restaurants, art galleries, beaches, shops, bike trails, fresh-water ponds,National Seashore, Nickerson State Park and museums are all nearby. One mile from the center of Orleans and eight miles from Chatham, a perfect location and setting from which to explore the Cape.

The owners, who live on the five acre estate property, have a shared experience of 60 years on the Cape and will gladly share their knowledge and give recommendations to renters.

Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Will Joy is a retired civil engineer and has owned and lived on the property since the mid fifties with a wealth of Cape Cod Historical information at his finger tips. Page McMahan married Will in 1986 and at that time they made major renovations on the main house and poolside cottage and added many gardens and landscaping. Page has lived on Cape Cod year round since the mid 1970's when she discovered Cape Cod and found in to be one of the most special places on early. They are constantly upgrading the property and love sharing it and Cape Cod with Tenants.
