The kitchen has been enlarged and new custom oak cabinets/designer installed. We have brand new Whirlpool appliances, including a HUGE new refrigerator with freezer large enough to accomodate a cooler full of ice for your day on the lake!
Our units sleep six, with a brand new sofa sleeper on the first level. Upstairs enjoy the new plush king-size master suite, and the second bedroom guest suite.
UPDATE FOR OUR REPEAT GUESTS : The master suite upstairs is now separate from the second bedroom. Each bedroom has private access to the bathroom. Both baths have also been updated and the cabinets and lighting fixtures replaced.
We have also replaced and upgraded ALL doors and windows, to maximize the spectacular views of Apple Valley and the surrounding natural beauty of the Cumberlands.
The master suite has an entertainment center, table and chairs, brand new king-size bed and white bedroom set "beach cottage design". Linens/Towels are provided. Bring beach towels! There will be a starter amount of paper towels, toilet paper and soap products for your convenience.

LAKE CUMBERLAND STATE RESORT PARK:
We suggest that you visit the State Park lodge and pick up an activity/entertaiment schedule. Most activities are free. They have just added a Disc Golf Course for your family's funtime - FREE! If you forgot your fishing poles, the State Park will loan them to your children.
They also offer WI-FI, so bring your laptop!
Dining at the Lake Cumberland State Park Resort Lodge is a must. We recommend the buffets - and you can feed leftovers to the "critters" at the lodge patio, overlooking the lake.
You will be sure to see deer if you drive around the park at dusk. And do not forget to watch the sunset from the Lookout Point, a spectacular view of the lake, and just a short stroll from the lodge.
Enjoy preparing meals in YOUR new kitchen, or enjoy the friendly service and county cookin' at the local restaurants in Jamestown, or at the State Park. Lake Cumberland is located in a "DRY" county. If you wish to enjoy alcoholic beverages while on vacation, you will have to bring your own!

Year Purchased: 1985
Our family has had a love affair with Lake Cumberland since our children were very small. We used to stay at the Pumpkin Creek Lodge when it was only $18/night! We did not even know Apple Valley existed until we met another family at one of the State Park activities and they told us they were staying at Apple Valley Resort. That was the last time we stayed at the State Park Lodge. Apple Valley was the best of both worlds for us. Close to Lake Cumberland State Park and all the free activities, but peaceful and secluded in a beautiful wooded setting...and a security gate for our family's safety. So we rented an Apple Valley condo for years. Then one unseasonably warm March Saturday we decided to drive down to the lake just for the day. On the way home we stopped at Ralph Roy Realty to see if they ever had any for sale, and what-do-you-know, Ralph Roy himself owned one and it was for sale - The rest is history! Now at least three of our former renters are now owners, and part of the Apple Valley Family! You WILL fall in love with Apple Valley.
Why the Owner Chose Jamestown
Apple Valley is the only place we ever considered. We had rented there for years, spending every holiday and a week's summer vacation at Apple Valley. We loved the convenient location of our condo as it is rarely crowded and so easy to load and unload the car and the boat. We enjoy spending quality time with our children and grandchildren at Apple Valley. Relaxing around the campfire (there is a fire ring surrounded by chairs) and roasting marshmallows in the evening is a special treat for the children. It is so nice to relax and unwind under the stars and away from the city lights. The pool is rarely crowded and the playground, tennis courts, and basketball courts are right there too. Kids run around and parents watch, smile, and RELAX! We also enjoy a hike through the woods. Of course we always wind up at the lake and let the kids jump right in Apple Valley's secluded cove!

Overall, our experience at this property was great. The condo was very clean and nicely decorated. Everything that we needed for a weekend stay was provided. We only had to bring groceries. My husband and I and our four small children really enjoyed Apple Valley Resort. The condo was accurately described in the listing and the pool at the resort was really nice. The kids loved it. We also used the playground and grill in the outdoor shelter which was clean and well-maintained. Also, it is very conveniently located near a boat ramp so we were able to enjoy the lake each day we were there and the boat parking at the resort was a nice feature also. We have been travelling to Lake Cumberland for several years and have stayed at the State Park cabins many times. I would definitely choose this condo over anywhere else that we have stayed, especially considering the reasonable price. Sharon was very friendly and promptly answered any questions that we had. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great place to stay at Lake Cumberland. Only one thing I could say (and this is not really a negative to me, just FYI) is that the two bedrooms on the upper level are not completely private from one another. The wall between them is open at the top (about 8 ft up) so even though you can't see anything from one bedroom to another you could hear.

Yes, when we had the second bedroom added we purposely left an open area with a plant ledge above the wall between the bedrooms. This design enhances the look of the cathedral ceilings and keeps the spacious, open design that we love...yet still offers a completely separate living area for the guest bedroom, which can be locked! Although there are vents and ceiling fans in both areas, we like the idea of the air being able to circulate freely between the two bedrooms. For complete and total privacy, I suggest you spend the night on the sleep sofa in the living room - private bath too!

We come to Lake Cumberland every year and usually stay at Lure Lodge. This year we tried something different and rented the "Lewin girls" condo. The condo was very nice and spacious and the resort was quiet and clean. We are avid boaters and the 5 mile drive to and from the lake everyday did get a little old after a few days! But the trade off was to have a full kitchen and a place to relax and watch TV at the end of the day. I will say that I would have liked to have had a grill right at the condo, instead of having to use the "community" grill down by the pool....that would have made late night dinners a lot easier. All in all, the condo was very clean, nice, and spacious. Sharon was extremely helpful and tried to accommodate our needs during the booking process! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely rent again :)
Owner response: Thank you, Christy. Did you know that if your boat is 20 feet or less, you can launch at the end of Old Rowena Ferry Rd? This is where the Corp of Engineers recently installed another launch ramp (Shhh! We like to keep this one a secret!). It is located only 250 feet past the entrance to Apple Valley Resort! We do like the flexibility of launching one day at Wolf Creek Dam (Halcomb's Landing) and the next day at the State Park Launch ramp, giving you access to two completely different sections of Lake Cumberland.
About the grill...Look for a new grill right outside the condo by our picnic table in 2011! Great suggestion!

This is our 2nd time renting this condo (before and after renovations) and we can't wait to get back for the next visit. It is a perfect place to "get away". It is close to the docking ramps but you have all the "off water" ammentities too! The renovations are great!! Thanks for sharing your place and keeping it clean and inviting for all your renters. The place looks just like all the pictures. Also love the laminate flooring so easy to keep clean! Our kids (15, 10 year twins and a 5 year old) seriously wanted to book another week before they went back to school!

Our family of 5 had a wonderful time in the Cumberland area. Unfortunately, it rained a lot so there were extended times that we were in the condo. My husband and I were so thankful that we had decided to stay in this condo. It had everything that we needed to feel comfortable and at home. The space was more than sufficient and everything was in tip-top shape. I especially loved the King Size bed. The air conditioning went out while we were there. We called the owners and they had it fixed within 12 hours. Amazing service! The owners were friendly and so helpful. We would absolutely go back. Thank you for providing us with wonderful accommodiations.

We had a wonderful time staying at Apple Valley. The place was incredibly clean. Our condo was stocked with everything we need. The "No Smoking and No Pets allowed policy helped make our stay more enjoyeable since my entire family suffers from allergies. We will be coming back to stay and will continue to let others know about this great resort. My boys loved the pool, tennis courts and basketball court. Everyone there was very polite and friendly (even asking if we needed help with anything). A very family oriented place. A bonus being close to restaurants and activities for the children. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your condo. It was super clean and comfortable and nicely accommodated our family of 5. The scenery was beautiful and peaceful and the kids loved skateboarding on the rolling pavement around the complex. It was nice to be so close to the State Park and State Dock. Previously we had stayed at a State Park cabin, however, after finding Apple Valley, we won't be doing that again. We saved enough money to stay an extra night, while enjoying a much cleaner and comfortable stay. Thanks for everything!
