We are close to the pool and playground too. Our condo is located in the highest point of Apple Valley Resort, offering a spectacular view of the resort and the surrounding hills. We have a seasonal view of the lake from the upper balcony, and a grassy (watch for grazing deer) and wooded view from the front.

Apple Valley Resort is located on 72 wooded acres at 145 State Park Road, just after you turn at the big 'LAKE CUMBERLAND STATE RESORT PARK' sign off Route 127.
Apple Valley Resort adjoins the property of Lake Cumberland State Resort Park. The resort offers a large heated pool with a diving board and lots of chaise lounges and umbrella tables. There are lighted tennis courts and a basketball court.

You can launch your boat at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park, or the newly updated facility at Wolf Creek Dam . They provide access to two completely different sections of Lake Cumberland. A third launch ramp was constructed in 2007 for boats under 22 feet. This road (Rowena Ferry) is approx. 2000 feet from Apple Valley's Entrance, just off State Park Road!
Ski-boat, fishing boat, pontoon, and jet-ski rental are available for your family's fun time just down the road at the State Park Marina 1-888-782-8336 and, or at nearby Jamestown Marina 1-800-830-5131.

LAKE CUMBERLAND STATE RESORT PARK:
We suggest that you visit the State Park lodge and pick up an activity/entertaiment schedule. Most activities are free. They have just added a Disc Golf Course for your family's funtime - FREE! If you forgot your fishing poles, the State Park will loan them to your children.
They also offer WI-FI, so bring your laptop!
Dining at the Lake Cumberland State Park Resort Lodge is a must. We recommend the buffets - and you can feed leftovers to the 'critters' at the lodge patio, overlooking the lake.
You will be sure to see deer if you drive around the park at dusk. And do not forget to watch the sunset from the Lookout Point, a spectacular view of the lake, and just a short stroll from the lodge.
Enjoy preparing meals in YOUR new kitchen, or enjoy the friendly service and county cookin' at the local restaurants in Jamestown, or at the State Park. Lake Cumberland is located in a 'DRY' county.

Why the Owner Chose JamestownApple Valley is the only place we ever considered. We had rented there for years, spending every holiday and a week's summer vacation at Apple Valley. We loved the convenient location of our condo as it is rarely crowded and so easy to load and unload the car and the boat. We enjoy spending quality time with our children and grandchildren at Apple Valley. Relaxing around the campfire (there is a fire ring surrounded by chairs) and roasting marshmallows in the evening is a special treat for the children. It is so nice to relax and unwind under the stars and away from the city lights. The pool is rarely crowded and the playground, tennis courts, and basketball courts are right there too. Kids run around and parents watch, smile, and RELAX! We also enjoy a hike through the woods. Of course we always wind up at the lake and let the kids jump right in Apple Valley's secluded cove!

Wolf Creek Dam Boat Launch Ramp Corp of Engineers Plenty of room for Parking and launching your boat.
We like to vary launching at Wolf Creek and State Dock, to access two completely different parts of our beautiful LAKE CUMBERLAND!
Yes, there are 3 launch ramps extremely close to Apple Valley Resort. Old Rowena Ferry Road has been re-created by the Corp of Engineers for small (under 21 feet) boats to launch. Parking is limited, but usually not crowded because there is no Dock to pull up to. Great for fishing boats, jetskis, or just hanging out at THE LAKE!
Country Cooking at its finest. We especially enjoy the buffets, and feeding the leftovers to the "critters" that await handouts at the hospitality patio overlooking Lake Cumberland. Walk to the overlook after dinner for a spectacular sunset ovefr the lake from high on a clifftop!
You will not want to miss this free attraction. It is a learning experience for young and old alike. Find out why the dam was built and identify the fish and wildlife that call Lake Cumberland their home.

Our family has had a love affair with Lake Cumberland since our children were very small. We used to stay at the Pumpkin Creek Lodge when it was only $18/night! We did not even know Apple Valley existed until we met another family at one of the State Park activities and they told us they were staying at Apple Valley Resort. That was the last time we stayed at the State Park Lodge. Apple Valley was the best of both worlds for us. Close to Lake Cumberland State Park and all the free activities, but peaceful and secluded in a beautiful wooded setting...and a security gate for our family's safety. So we rented an Apple Valley condo for years. Then one unseasonably warm March Saturday we decided to drive down to the lake just for the day. On the way home we stopped at Ralph Roy Realty to see if they ever had any for sale, and what-do-you-know, Ralph Roy himself owned one and it was for sale - The rest is history! Now at least three of our former renters are now owners, and part of the Apple Valley Family! You WILL fall in love with Apple Valley.

We have wanted to visit Lake Cumberland for a long time. This condo turned out to be a great place to stay while visiting Lake Cumberland State Park. The condo has extremely comfortable beds and furnishings. It has plenty of dishes, etc and everything was well-maintained. We would definitely recommend this condo!

The condo was furnished very nice and very clean. The condo was easy to get to and at the lodge entrance. We used the grill to cook one night and went to lodge to eat one night. We had everything we needed to fix a nice dinner and breakfast at the condo. We did not go to the lake, we did fly fishing on the river. The weather was perfect. I would love to go again to check out more of the area. Thanks for a great weekend get-away for our anniversary!

Our family was very comfortable in this recently updated condo. We loved the decor and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The condo is very convenient to State Dock and other state park amenities. The resort and condo are clean and well maintained. The master bedroom is especially spacious with great natural lighting from the balcony doors. The design of the kitchen and family room is open and each room is stocked well and comfortably furnished. While I enjoyed all the comforts of home in the kitchen, the kids found the movie selection abundant. But don't get the wrong idea, we spent most of our time enjoying the sunny days boating on Lake Cumberland!

You could tell the owners put alot of love and thought into having all the comforts of home. Loved how comfortable the beds were and having the two bathrooms was great. The owners were happy to help with any quesitons or concerns. The list of their favorite places was so helpful and I was able to get some great pictures!! Had a fun family get together at the Cumberland State Resort Park. This was a great place to stay, without being in the park. The condos are at the park entrance. There's a beautiful winding road into the park, just wish you could bike it (no shoulders or bike paths). We took advantage of all the condo amenities, the pool was very warm, we were in it every day. The gas grill at the pavilion was a challenge to start, but was great for outdoor cooking for a group. We roasted marshmallows and had a bonfire one night. We also took the kids on daily trips to the playground. Our condo was up to date with a nice little kitchen. Condo was clean and well maintained. The owners were great to work with and very helpful with suggestions for places to see and restaurants to visit. The master bedroom was big, but lacked privacy, as it has a cutout at the ceiling to the other bedroom and you have to walk through it to get to the 2nd bedroom. Worked fine for putting the kids to bed early, since the living space was on the 1st floor. If you are missing the old fashion soda bar, go into Jamestown and experience Manners for lunch. Plan to pontoon the lake if you stay at Apple Valley. There is no sandy beach at the Resort Park (sorry we are spoiled in Michigan) for the kids to swim, but they had a blast jumping off the pontoon and tubing. There is only one really good place to swim at the Resort Park and you have to walk down a shale hill to get there (bring water shoes, you won't take them off, chairs, and life jackets for the kids).
