If you want a private place to relax and enjoy the view. A place that's clean, well taken care of and doesn't have constant renters in and out. We hand pick our renters. We don't have a management company run our 'vacation' home. Flatlanders Peak is actually going to be our home some day. Until then we have decided to share it with some special guests. Guests that think of Flatlanders Peak as 'their place'. If you're that kind of guest then we want you. (DON'T FORGET TO CHECK OUT OUR VIDEO)!
Whether it's a few days, a week or a month; we have the perfect place for you to kick back and relax. With beautiful mountain views and wildlife all around, the peacefulness will make you wish you never had to leave. Take a stroll in our gated community with even more mountain views and take in the beauty of nature that you have been missing.
This home was completed in June of 2005. Our custom built home has all the added touches which make this a home away from home. This beautiful home with breath taking views can be yours to enjoy with privacy you won't find at an Inn, hotel or condo resort. If you want to be on the lake; then rent a lakefront home. If you want a place with the views then ours is the place you want to choose. NOTE: We are not part of Rambling Bauld resort and do not have amenities to the resort. The average rental rate for a vacation home in the resort comparative to ours is $1500/week (and no mountain views).
Our home is situated on 2.66 acres that has a 180 degree panaramic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Come and enjoy the beautiful sunsets and mountains as you sit on our deck under the covered gazebo. We are located one mile from the Lake; on a paved road in a gated community called 'The Peaks at Lake Lure'. It's easy enough for a car to access with plenty of room to park. And the only grocery store in Lake Lure is 1/2 mile from us.
Our home has lots of room to spread out inside and out. It's very peaceful. We have seen turkey and deer from the gazebo. We have a small stream that runs at the edge of our property which is where the deer frequently cross.
This three bedroom, two bath home is waiting for your enjoyment. There is one king bed, one queen bed and 2 twin beds with all new mattresses for a comfortable nights sleep.
The main level has the great room which includes the living area with all new furniture and a chimnea gaslog fireplace with remote. The dining area can seat 6. Full kitchen with all new appliances. It has a side by side refrig with automatic ice maker, smoothtop range and a must have dishwasher. The main bath has a 6' soaker tub and shower plus vanity sitting area for the ladies. Also on this level is the laundry area with washer and dryer and the master bedroom with a king size bed.
Our most favorite spot on this level though is the gazebo. You won't believe the view when you walk out unto our gazebo. In the summer, enjoy the view and the hummingbirds that come right to our gazebo to drink the nectar from the feeders we have on deck.
You won't be disappointed with the view; it is reflective in the pictures we have posted on this page. Imagine waking up in the morning and seeing the mountains without getting out of bed!
The lower level is a family room area. There is TV and computer. We also have a game table to play games and cards. We have provided some games like UNO, sequence and Michigan rummy. We have provided 2 decks of cards.
Also located at this level is two additional bedrooms with a queen bed and two twin beds. There is a full bath with large walk-in shower with glass blocks.
All laminate wood flooring except for the family room; which has carpet and downstairs bath has ceremic tile. Two TV's (flatscreen with built-in DVD on the upper level) and the one downstair is Dish and video equipped.
The attached gazebo is HUGE to sit, relax and enjoy the outdoors- (rain or shine) or watch one those beautiful sunsets. We have a new two seated glider and a nice table with six chairs on deck. The gazebo is covered and sheltered from the rain but we also have an open deck area front and back for sunning if you prefer. We also have the gas grill on deck for your convience. We added a firepit for those night time campfires. Email us for additonal pictures and information of Lake Lure.
Lake Lure has a public beach with a waterpark for the kids. There are also public tennis and basketball courts at the community center - 3 miles from us. Chimney Rock is a great place to shop or stroll along the river. All of this is within 5 miles from our home.
Smoking Not Permitted inside or on the Deck.
We are PET FRIENDLY' Pease ask for consideration of your pet. A per pet fee will be added. All pets are requried to be kenneled during your stay whenever alone in the rental or take your pet with you. North Carolina is a very pet friendly state so pets are allowed at many sites and state parks.

My wife and I had the pleasure of spending a week at Flatlanders Peak in October 2007. The home was very nice and the views spectacular. The home is well maintained and very clean. The directions to the property were precise, the ammenities and layout of the property were accurately defined in the marketing information. We had one challenge when we got to the property but was able to discuss the matter with the owner when she promptly returned our call. We actually had an opportunity to met the individual who cleaned the property. She turned out to be a great ambassador for the owner and the area of Lake Lure. We would highly recommend this property.Owner response: Thank you for your feedback. I apoligize for the entry problem. Thanks again for choosing Flatlanders Peak.

We had a tremendous time at Flatlanders Peak in October 2011. There were 5 of us and the accomodation was great - we lacked nothing. My 8 year old son loved the fireman dvd. We enjoyed the quiet of "The Peaks" - no traffic, no hussle and bussle but close close enough to Hendersonville and to Ashville that we could find traffic and hussle and bussle within a 20 minute drive. The Lake Lure area is spectacular. We particularly loved Chimney Rock and Bat Cave and enjoyed meals at the local resturants. Being flatlanders (Floridians) we absolutly loved the mountains and were lucky to have a wonderful showing of fall leaves. The week flew by. Thank's to our hosts for opening their home to us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you so much for taking the time to submit an online review.

I must say, this was the perfect place to spend Christmas vacation. The home was beautifully decorated, quiet and relaxing, with plenty of room for the family to spread out. We loved the fully equipped kitchen, the game room, and quiet walks in the mountains.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
