In the back, behind the main house, " up stairs" above the garage, is the one bedroom, one full bath, luxury get away apartment with a peek at the ocean. Newly furnished in comfortable, warm California beach decor and local art. Fully equipped kitchen and many amenities for your vacation get away.
The bedroom has a Queen size, resort quality pillow top bed and new full size sofa sleeper in the living room. The studio apartment is comfortable enough for 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults.
Roomier and cheaper than a Hotel or Motel ... you have your own kitchen and patio.

Why the Owner Chose Santa Cruz
We were lucky enough to find a small house here on Alta Ave. 2 blocks from the ocean. A little Granny lived there with her white poodle when we bought it from her. We eventually tore down the entire house ( in Santa Cruz they were called scrapers) While building our house, we also built the apartment over the garage for extra income and rented it out month to month for about 3 yrs. I have some girl friends in town who were doing this vacation rental thing and talked me into turning the apartment into a vacation rental. I love it. I meet many lovely guests from far away as Germany, England, Africa and many come there from the hot CA valleys to enjoy our cool summer foggy mornings, and warm afternoons. The ocean is right there, it's always beckoning you. Santa Cruz is a blast, you can always find something fun to do here. Our place is in a great location, 2 blocks from the ocean and only about a mile from town and the Boardwalk.
The Unique Benefits at this 1 Bedroom Apartment
With West Cliff Dr. just 2 blocks away, you can stroll or bike in either direction on the walking path next to the ocean. We have 2 crusier bikes for guests to use with locks and helmets. Ride out to the Wharf for lunch, Steamers Lane and the Lighthouse to watch the surfers from a very unique point of view ... or go north to Natural Bridges Beach for the sunset. The Sunset Studio apartment is quiet, private, comfortable and well stocked, I planned it out like I would be staying there myself. Along with the bikes, I also have 2 guests passes for the beautiful Monterey Bay Aquarium which makes a nice day trip, its only about 45 min. drive there.

I have lived in Santa Cruz county my whole life. Bob moved here from Arizona, we both love this area. We've raised our 2 kids here in Santa Cruz. We love the quirkiness of Santa Cruz, Jimmy Buffett once said he loved living in a tourist trap, there are reasons why people flock here, come to Santa Cruz, enjoy the weather, experience down town and the Beach Boardwalk ... you'll understand why people vacation here.
