Le Moulin Giraud is a stunning property, privately set in 15 acres of wooded tranquillity on the banks of the Vienne river, with its very own island complete with rowing boat and hammock and small swimming pool. The Vienne river valley at this point is very beautiful, peaceful and interesting and is a haven for wildlife, with the likes of deer and birds of prey seen most days in and around the gardens.
The south facing property is spacious, stylishly furnished and very comfortable it has a large well equipped farmhouse dining kitchen with wood burning stove and huge part covered terrace complete with table, chairs seats 8 and additional seating overlooking the river making it perfect for entertaining on balmy evenings or for lazy lunches and dinners.
Le Moulin Giraud also has a large dining room seating 8 plus a comfortable seating area and an equally large comfortable lounge with wood burning stove making it ideal for 2 family's or for those who prefer space and comfort.

My wife and I have just spent two marvellous weeks at Le Moulin Giraud. I cannot praise this property too highly, in fact the advert is somewhat of an understatement. The House itself is very private in its extensive grounds, and situated in an idyllic setting, with the river Vienne flowing gently past its banks, the imposing woodlands which surround this enchanting place abound with song birds. The peace and tranquility is something to be remembered . The interior decor and cleanliness is of the highest standard, and the utilities throughout (especially in the kitchen, my wife insisted on this note) are very comprehensive. The surrounding countryside and villages, take me back to England as it was in times gone by, the rolling hills, heavily wooded with oak beech and chestnut, and the ubiquitous lakes, are for me, a combination of the lake district and the south downs. The charming town of St Leonard de-Noblat at 1.5 kilometers from the house, has everything you require. The locals friendly and very helpful. For those who prefer an active holiday, cycling and walking over this wonderful terrain is a very memorable experience, I recommend you visit the local tourist offices situated in most villages, and ask for a route map (for cyclists, VTT routes), these are very explicit and include sites of interest for each individual route. The large lakes in the immediate area Vassiviere , and St Helene, cover most water sports, and like the countryside and villages, incredibly clean. Last, but not least the owners have been very solicitous throughout, from prompt replies to being very helpful in every way. On our arrival we were greeted with a welcome pack which was unexpected and very thoughtful. To sum up, if you are looking for a quiet romantic, cultural experience, or a family active holiday we recommend most highly Moulin Giraud and the Limousin.Did you find this review helpful? We had a fabulous week staying at this beautiful house in a stunning location. We loved the attention to detail and the fact that it was so clean and well equipped - I think we managed to use all of the facilities, including the bikes, badminton set, and raclette! The teenagers of our family spent most of the week playing in the grounds and on the river, whilst the grandparents relaxed on the terrace and enjoyed the views.We can't really think of any improvements that could be made - it was a delightRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers.

Just a brief review to say how much we enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. We have been to France virtually every year for the last 15 years or so andwe can safely say that our stay at le Moulin Giraud was one of the best wehave had. The environment and grounds of the house are truly stunning and the welcome we received was unexpected and delightful - ie a welcome pack of food and wine, a welcome message on the blackboard in the kitchen and just the invitation to treat the house like it was our home. We loved St Leonard de Noblat with its picturesque streets and friendly local bars and restaurants and the whole area around Limoges is particularly beautiful - if you can manage to drag yourself away from the peace of le moulin giraud. So...thank you again and I am sure we will be back to stay at le Moulin Giraud.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

The house has a great setting - very private in its grounds and great views over the river . The kitchen was very well equipped - loads of dishes , pots and pans for those who enjoy cooking . The terrace outside was excellent for eating meals and relaxing. Although we ate in a lot - there are a variety of restaurants in the village about a mile away. The bedrooms are a good size and the children enjoyed the pool table , english TV and the interesting collection of books. There are a number of good places to vist in the area , such as Limoges, some scenic walks and lakes and if you really want to go further a field the beautiful town of Sarlat is 2 hours drive. Overall we would really recommend this property .Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

Le Moulin Giraud is a wonderful place. My familiy and I really enjoyed our stay there. The property and grounds were idyllic, décor and facilities were brilliant and surrounding area wonderful. Communication with the owner has been a pleasurable and friendly experience, customer service was excellent. The property was clean and well maintained throughout. If you can drag your self away from this wonderful place 5 minutes up the road is the charming village of St Leonard de Noblat which has numerous small shops and a couple of supermarkets. There are plenty of places to eat and drink also Limoge is well worth a visit. I would certainly recommend Le Moulin Giraud to all my friends,Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers.
