It is all about location, especially the beach. Our condo is located just across Ali'i Drive from White Sands Beach one of the best boogie boarding and swimming beaches on the Big Island and the only one in Kailua-Kona. Taking an early morning dip, bouncing around in the waves, reading a book in the shade of a palm tree or watching a beautiful Kona sunset is what makes for a perfect vacation. We are also locate close (an easy mile south) to Kahalu'u Beach with arguably the best snorkeling in the area. You are almost guaranteed a swim with a green sea turtle and plenty of colorful fish. The calm and protected waters are also safe for young ones. But if you want to try your hand at surf or paddle boarding, the waters further out are popular. We are also locate a short drive down hill from Keauhou shopping center where you can find just about anything from a large supermarket and drugstore, clothing shops, cinemas, takeout food, post office and two very good Asian Pacific restaurants, Kenichi and Sam Choy with its spectacular view of the coast. Keauhou is also quite a cultural center where you can see hula dancing or participate in lei making. Don't miss the excellent Saturday morning farmer's market for fresh, local produce, breads, local fish and meats, flowers, Kona coffee, condiments and crafts. And if you are lucky you will get to participate in local festivals which are often held at this community gathering spot. Our condo is a value-priced alternative to the more expensive Kona and Kohala Coast resorts. We offer a lovely recently refurbished and lightly salted pool with hot tub, tennis courts on site and of course, the beach as well as a good restaurant, Anthony's-by'the-Sea just across the street. The Kona Country club with 2 18 hole golf coursed is locate 2 miles away. But our condo has a more home-away-from-home feel with the ability to cook your own meals in our fully equipped, gourmet kitchen or use the Webber grills available by the pool. We have fully updated the condo with all new appliances, a new air conditioning unit and ceiling fans in every room and on the lanai, new water heater, granite counter tops in the kitchen and baths, tiles floors, WIFI, 2 flat screen TV's, a 42' one with DVD in the living room and smaller flat screen the the guest bedroom, and memory foam mattress topers on comfortable mattresses. We supply 'vacation read' books as well as a very good selection of historical and geographical books and material on Hawaii and especially the Big Island. We also supply beach towels, mats and beach chairs, coolers, some beach toys, boogie boards, rackets, puzzles and games and Hawaiian music CDs. Because our condo is back from noisy Ali'i Dr., we enjoy a more tranquil ocean view. The two bedroom windows face out over undeveloped lands so that you can hear the peaceful sounds of the ocean waves as you fall asleep and awake to the songs of the birds. Our large (27') lanai is a great place to watch the sun rise over Hualalai with a cup of Kona Coffee or catch the sunset over the ocean after a fun filled day, or dine alfresco and enjoy the balmy tropical evening. Enjoying a hot tub or taking an evening dip in the pool is always a great way to end a perfect day. We are lucky to have a shuttle bus which runs from the Sheraton Resort along Ali'i Drive (with a stop just in front of White Sands Village) to Kailua Village 4 miles north. Kailua offers churches, all manner of shopping, restaurants and night life, historical structures not to mention all the activities available at the harbour And we've created a book that details some of the many unique and interesting places around the island: black and green sand beaches, rain forests, volcanos, ranches, historical spots and botanical gardens further a field.
