We just returned from our second stay at this home on Starboard Tack and cannot wait to return again. We usually visit in June, so we had the pool an hot tub heated which was wonderful with the slightly cooler temperatures. The home was just as we remembered and hope to return again in the future. We had one issue which was rectified quickly and without any additional effort on our part. Wonderful memories were again made. We had a wonderful stay at this home! It was perfect for our family and perfect for our 17 month old baby girl. The back deck has a sliding gate to baby proof the stairs. We very much felt at home. Everything was very accurately described/shown in the listing. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed a nice dinner on the back deck on our last night there. I'm already thinking about doing this again next year in this house.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We stayed for a week and had the BEST weather. Three mature couples, all related. We biked, canoed, golfed, sunbather, played tennis, walked and hot tubbed. What a wonderful time. We spent every evening in the hot tub and we had a great chef as one of us and he did a great surf and turf for St Patrick's Day, his birthday. Any time we had a question or problem, we emailed the owner and had a reply the same day. All problems were resolved. We'll be back next year if we can work it out.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and cannot wait to return! We had a wonderful visit; the layout was perfect for a family vacation with plenty of space to spend time together yet private areas for relaxing or reading a good book. The house was beautiful, clean, and we immediately felt right at home. We particularly enjoyed the peaceful deck overlooking the private pool. The kitchen was well stocked and on the days we did not feel like cooking there were many wonderful restaurant options (Steamers was a favorite). The beach is beautiful and shuttle service far exceeded my expectations. I have been recommending this house to friends and family looking for a fabulous getaway.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

The description was accurate regarding the location. The listing photos accurately reflected the warmth of the decor: lovely pictures on the walls and floral arrangements appropriate for the area. The house was clean and well maintained. The furniture was comfortable, as were the beds. The landscaping was lovely, and the pool was clean and inviting. We especialy liked grilling out and sitting out on the deck. We enjoyed the lawn chairs and sitting around the pool chatting and snacking. Yes, we do recommend this property to anyone we can. We want them to have the relaxing vacation we had in such exotic beauty. We loved taking early morning walks to the beach and looking at the palm trees. It was so quiet and peaceful. Nearby attractions that I remember are the Lighthouse, the golf courses, bicycle riding, Steamer's Restaurant, the Frozen Moo ice cream parlor, shopping at outlet malls and grilling on the deck.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My family had one of our best vacations ever. It was so great in fact that we are planning another trip very soon. The house is beautiful. It is very clean, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything we needed on those evenings that we chose to stay in and grill out on the beautiful deck or make something in the spacious kitchen. My kids loved swimming in the pool in the backyard, and I enjoyed reading by the pool. It's quiet, relaxing, and my son had a good time fishing in the lagoon. The beach is within walking distance of the house, and we enjoyed catching glimpses of deer as we walked through the neighborhood. There are so many fun things to do: bike riding, golfing, putt putt, swimming, shopping, tour of light house, and many excellent restaurants. The listing description is accurate, and the photos accurately reflect the rental's appearance. The owners of the house were very helpful when I had questions. I recommend this house for anyone wanting a fun, relaxing vacation in a beautiful home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Mattresses and pillows very very poor....2nd shared bath too small..6 to 10 people could not stay in this home comfortably...4 adults struggled to use facilities and/or get ready to go out after a day of beach/golf....book from property managers said 2.5 baths....a powder room off kitchen or living room would have been very nice and doesn't anyone check the "fully equipped" kitchen offerings?..Two badly scratched, unappealing and prob not healthy to use, teflon pans, 1 big pot w/ no lid and 2 small frying pans and 2 tiny sauce pans...that was it. Teflon pans can't be counted. Unfortunate, as the kitchen was gorgeous with great appliances and lovely layout and use of granite. Kitchen nook was ideal, we enjoyed our breakfast there all 12 days but had to clean crayon off the chairs and sweep up dead bugs before sitting in there...availability of bikes a savings, but boat was left uncovered to the elements and pooled water +leaves made a soupy mess inside boat, unable to be used. Floors are warped, some inside doors don't close properly unless locked. The wall colors were beautiful and furnishings obviously tastefully picked but dresser drawers fall right out, when you can pull them open. Nothing to catch/glide them on and have to be shimmied left to right to shut. In 7 yrs of staying in the dunes...the nicest pool...plenty of sun, a little shade and definitely well maintained..pool service is frequent..the rooms could stand some of that same attention.... Carolina room lovely with a firm long couch that 4 adults took turns sleeping on as beds were so poor. Couch throw pillows were better than the bed pillows. Washer and dryer worked well as did all appliances. Dining room table perfect for scrabble. Quiet neighborhood. Has so much going for it but needs some TLC. Deliberately chose hardwood because of allergies/asthma but beds need coasters under legs or something...anytime sat on or got in or out of bed ... the bed went out from under you. As to nearby attractions, the bonefish grill prepares foods that are subtley enhanced to bring out flavors, fresh market wonderful offerings and the beach, golf and macadam shaded bike trails a treat. However, only time we could not wait to leave in order to get home for a good nights sleep.Owner response: We have a policy to do our best to keep our guests happy. If there is a problem the renters can call our rental managers or us and we will do our best to rectify the situation. We realize families have worked hard for their vacation and we want them to enjoy their time at our home. We love when families return to our home. This particular renter did not rent through us on VRBO. They rented through our rental manager. We did not hear of any of these issues until we read them on our VRBO website. We were taken by surprise to hear about their complaint with the beds. This is the first complaint we have ever received about the beds. We believe our beds are very comfortable. Our VRBO listing and our rental manager’s website both state that we have (2) bathrooms. I am unclear how this renter thought we had (2.5) bathrooms. We do not advertise a boat for guests to use so I am not sure why received a complaint for something that was not offered. For the pots and pans issue this could easily be resolved by calling our rental manager and requesting new pots and pans. That is one of the main reasons we have a rental manager to handle this type of issue. We actually have (2) rental managers to help maintain our property. One of the managers handles more of the maintenance type issues. With both managers on the island, we try to make sure that if a problem should arise, it will be handled and resolved in a timely manner.
