Spacious & centrally-located, our spot is meant to feel like your own urban escape. Situated on a residential street, our parking spot behind our home is included with your reservation!
About our home . . .
Our townhouse is just under 2000 square feet of center-city living and includes a private outdoor patio. The top two floors are made up of bedrooms and bathrooms. Living space is on the main floor, with plenty of room for your group to stretch out and relax. The kitchen is below the main floor, along with our dining room and laundry area.
Our home is completely private.
Here's a quick run-down of the layout of our home, from top-to-bottom:
Top floor (third floor) hosts two bedrooms. The north-facing bedroom has a California King . The north-facing bedroom is equipped with a queen bed and a full bed. Third floor also includes a full bath.
Below that, the second floor boasts a large bedroom with queen bed. Second floor also has a full bath. Floor also includes an open library with a sleeper couch that converts to a Queen bed, linens are included.
We have a Queen airbed with available for an extra charge, guests can make up bed at your convenience.
Main Floor features full couch, lounge area and TV. Patio extends through slider doors, where you can comfortably host a BBQ dinner.
Lower level has large extended seating area, funky half-bathroom, well-stocked kitchen with all-new stainless steel appliances.
Finally, our home is equipped with safety features to keep your little ones safe like tamper-resistant outlets and secured dressers. Mounted gate is available on the Main Floor and tension gates are available throughout our home. Our furniture is bolted to the wall for your little one's safety, and not because we fear that grandma's antique dresser will walk away.
Please ask for a detailed floor layout.
About the area . . .
Our home is part of Washington Square West, and it borders Society Hill and Queen Village. There is never-ending activity for adults and kids alike, along with full-service businesses to help support your itinerary. You will be one block from South St., a few blocks from several grocery stories, a short walk from Rittenhouse and Old City for night life and entertainment. Our home is a few blocks from 'restaurant row' and dozens of fantastic eating establishments.
You will be at the epicenter of many attractions: Independence Mall, the Constitution Center and the whole historic shebang is only a few blocks walk. If you want a handsome cab to take you around the city, you can pick up a horse-drawn carriage near Independence Hall! If it's raining, Septa can get you places along with Phlash, The Big Bus, or even those duck boats - we won't judge you.
Culture, musical and theater scene is a short walk-- Kimmel Center, Forrest Theater, Wilma, Merriam, TLA (yes, it totally counts), and a number of spots that feature Jazz -- Chris' Jazz, scattered spots like Tuesday night at Milkboy.
Of course, there's things here that you just can't find anywhere else: The Mudder Museum and the Barnes Museum, the Rosenbach for old book enthusiasts--original copies of Dracula and Don Quixote!
There is nearby fun for kids as well, Franklin Institute, Franklin Square, Please Touch Museum, more parks than can easily be counted, all walkable or, at most, a token by bus.
Then -- my personal favorite -- there's events on the cheap or even free. An afternoon with ice-cream at Franklin Fountain. Walking tours -- event tours, science tours, ghost tours. Improv studios with nightly open shows. More coffee shops per square foot than you thought possible.
Philadelphia is a known foodie and beer-drinkers' paradise. We'll leave you to travel mags and to Yelp to explore the best of the area, but will happily offer our humble opinions.
Finally, there's bike trails (and access to Philadelphia's new bike share program. . . it's awesome!), hiking and walking. Philly has something for everyone and we can help make recommendations if you're not sure, so just ask!
About our approach . . .
About a week before your stay (unless you'd like it earlier) we'll send you information about our home and your stay. We'll provide you with a lock box code for check-in and will make arrangements to meet up at your convenience.
We have guidance for parking, a list of our cooking equipment (with pictures) and lots of info (solicited or no) about the area. . . where to eat, what to see. We're here for you, so please feel free to schedule time to review your itinerary.
We do have a few add-on services that we can provide for an extra fee, including airbed use and passes for local businesses.
And about us . . .
We started managing our property as a short-term rental a few months ago, and the experience has been amazing. Meeting fantastic people, helping our guests build their itinerary, booking dinner reservations. It's our job to provide you with squeaky-clean accommodations in the-perfect center city location, and we're thrilled to go above-and-beyond to make your stay truly memorable.
The folks who have been happiest with us are those who are here for the culture, the nightlife and events that are safely walkable from our home. Happy guests are also those who like to spread out, have private space & cook a meal in here and again. And of course, we've worked hard to make our home as safe as possible to parents of small children of a certain age, specifically the eat-and-fall-onto-everything-in-their-wake stage.
Thanks for considering our home for your next visit to Philly :)
Crib, booster seat & additional childproofing is available. Please ask for our standard child-proofing efforts that include: tamper-resistant outlets, secured dressers and bureaus, mounted gates on request. ...moreless

About the owner: We work, live, met and fell in love in Philadelphia. Not in that order :)
But why talk about me when our energetic two-year-old is far more interesting. Our little one loves tumble class, pouring water from one cup into another, her pants with peeps printed on them, cupcakes. Hates car seats, washing her hair, going to sleep without her binky.
We've managed property for several years, but we are just starting our experience with VRBO. So far, we love it! Thanks to everyone who has reached out so far, and to those we have yet to meet :)
We're always thrilled to chat by phone, so please reach out!
Why the Owner Chose Philadelphia: We're central to the hub of Philadelphia, and still situated on a relatively quiet street.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome: We support local business and partner with the best & our favorites in the area, including:
Patty @ Three Trees Framing / 722 S 4th Street has a gift for art & set up our entire home. Hands down, Patty is a pro. May we never make a decor decision without her again!
We are also thrilled to partner with Ginger, local business owner at Holistic Home/Soap Box on 6th just south of South Street. Ginger, owner, is a perfectionist!
Congrats, Ginger, for being featured in Philadelphia Magazine in, "Ask the Expert!" We're thrilled to know you, Kasia and your entire team!
The short list also includes:
The Bean (Coffeeshop)
