Enjoy a relaxing get away on the North Carolina Coast at our Island Love Shack located in Oak Island. This charming cottage is perfect for a romantic or family getaway! Three Blocks from the beach, we are a quick (direct access) walk, one minute drive or short bike ride to the beautiful sandy beaches of Oak Island (bikes provided).
Swim, fish, golf, soak up the sunshine, play tennis, bike, collect sea shells and/or watch the beautiful sunsets. Enjoy the local Oak Island shops and restaurants or visit historic Southport where you’ll find great antique shopping and lots of restaurants.
Take a ferry ride to Bald Head Island or Fort Fisher; Take a day trip to (28 miles) to historic Wilmington where you can visit the Battleship USS North Carolina, dine in fine restaurants, enjoy upscale shopping or tour Screen Gems Movie Studios. Golf at the semi private Oak Island Golf & Country Club.
All the comforts of home await you at the Love Shack including Air-Conditioning, fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washer and dryer, cable TV, CD, DVD player, comfortable beds, sunroom, outdoor deck, gas grill and outdoor shower.
Beach chairs and rolling cooler beach cart are available for your convenience for a day at the beach. Island Love Shack is a fun, newly restored beach cottage with a brand new interior including a fully equipped kitchen, master bedroom with queen bed, a beautiful sunroom with a sofa bed, and a queen sofa bed in the living room.

We’re so glad you don’t have wireless access so we could truly disconnect from the daily grind and not get tempted to catch up on emails… Our dog Sam loved the beach and started a couple of excavation projects We mostly stayed put in your neighborhood and enjoyed some long walks on the beach – even saw dolphins! We’ll definitely be back to check out Southport and Wilmington and wander around more Pet Lovers – we left some Frosty Paws in the freezer for your dogs – they are ice creams for dogs and are apparently highly addictive! Jenny Ashley Thank you for our lovely cottage. It was a wonderful way to spend a few days away from the reality of my life right now. We enjoyed the beach, Southport and Oak Island. The best thing was spending time with my daughter and being under the same roof with her for a while. Carol Adams I’ve been here since 8-22. The first week I was along (with my dogs) and enjoyed all the fun down here – shopping, beaches, etc. My aunt and mother visited the 2nd week. A blessing to be with my mama – she is dying of pancreatic cancer. I don’t know how she found the strength to visit and endure the 10 hour drive down, but she did and for that I am grateful as I am aware this will be our last ‘vacation’ together. Shannon Adams."

We enjoyed the Fort Fisher and the Aquarium on Wednesday came back for dinner and then went for a walk on the beach at the end of the island. This is where I saw “Will you marry me” written in the sand and when I walked up on it, he pulled out the ring…..I was in shock and asked if he was serious? (After all, not too many men are willing to take on 4 more kid for a total of 6!) But then I said ABSOLUTELY! We are all so happy and we feel so blessed to have had this opportunity to be here at your Love Shack. Thank you so much Deb…..next time, I think we will try your mountain getaway!
