The building, called Castello Rialto, was built in the mid 1600s within the old walls of the Vieille Ville of Hyeres and is on a pedestrian street. The front door is on the street but because it is built into a hill, inside the views are from above the street and the terrace is fully two flights up with a remarkable view of the old town.
The unit has two bedrooms, a modern fully-equipped kitchen, and a charming living room with exposed rock walls and old beams called poutres. The terrace which is entered from the living room is large and in full sun all afternoon.
Although it is in a "zone pieton" there is a parking area where you may unload less than a half block away. Parking, while not as easy as one might hope for is not impossible and the walk through the narrow streets is beautiful and charming. A glorious "place" with restaurants and stores is just two blocks away.

I love this little town. It's not a common tourist area though it is beautiful and the location is perfect for venturing off to other places. It's not as congested as other popular places along the Mediterranean but it is just as lovely.
