Welcome to Key Colony Beach & KEYS OCEAN DRIVE! What a great planned community, a GREAT rental & a GREAT LOCATION!Across the street is the Atlantic Ocean/INCH BEACH & at the end of the 10th & 11th Street Canal, with fast & convenient access to the Gulf of Mexico Vaca Cut Bridge! Built in 1990, this is a newer constructed stilted duplex in KCB (plumbing, water, central a/c, hallway to BOTH bedrooms- don't walk thru guest BRM to access MBR as in MANY older duplexes, no concrete block walls).

With vaulted ceilings, this larger 1300 Sq. Feet home has a very bright, spacious feeling for many guests to enjoy. Plus the outside has covered parking for 2 cars, a boat trailer (pay no local storage fees) & grass yard (not just gravel or concrete)! This beautiful, tropically decorated NON-Smoking half duplex is perfect for monthly rentals or for one week! We have every amenity you are looking for! So get going, BOOK NOW and start packing!

First to this rare, private "Inch Beach" with Tiki hut & palm trees; Second to Cabana Club (go below & click on link to "CLICK HERE"- for FREE Cabana Club Membership Website)- private oceanfront beach club has 65 feet olympic-size heated/cooled pool, hot tub, game room, cocktail lounge, snack bar & large sundeck areas with lounge chairs or sandy beach! Public fishing pier next door. A short walk down Ocean Drive past the golf coarse or just call them for their new free shuttle service(between 4th & 5th St. on Ocean Drive)!

Balconies & views galore- in the front, the Atlantic Ocean & access to a private & RARE membership beach across the street(Inch Beach); in the back, view the 30 feet step down wooden dock & canal down the entire length with fast direct access to the ocean & gulf (via Vaca Cut).

Enjoy the deluxe fish cleaning table & '08 bait freezer with dockside water & hose, lights, electricity, bench, 6 chairs & outdoor shower. This area is also very private & spacious (no "close quarter" patios on either side of dock like other KCB properties) with owners that DO NOT rent on either side of our rental & do not live here permanently! Then grill your "catch" on the NEW '09 SS gas grill on the oceanview balcony!

This beautiful, bright tropical furnished living room/dining room area has a vaulted ceiling & many windows plus two triple glass sliding doors (re-screened 2008) leading to the gas grill, patio table, & 6 chairs! The living room & master bedroom have cable channels with a 27 inch color TV with NEWER DVD/VCR in the living room & a 21 inch color TV with VCR in the master bedroom (cable ready in 2nd BDRM). Also stereo/speakers in hall, portable iPod docking station with AM/FM radio (take it to Inch Beach with earphones) & a NEWER master bedroom CD/alarm/clock radio.

The master & guest bedrooms also have double glass sliding doors with that beautiful canal view. Even the master bathroom has a glass block window for bright sunlight over the soaking tub, seperate shower stall, two sinks & linen closet. The hall bathroom has a standard bathtub/shower combination. Nice linens furnish both bedrooms & enjoy lots of thick, fluffy towels in the baths!

The master bedroom has a NEWER, comfortable pillowtop king mattress set (plus walk-in closet) & the guest bedroom has two twin beds which can be converted to one king ("converter", linens, comforter in double closet). Each bedroom has one dresser & nightstand plus desk/chair in master. And a NEW queen sleeper sofa (2006) not pictured in living area (bedroom carpets, LR rug, seat cushions & sofas professionally cleaned Jan.2009). Plus Newer Cosco "Play Yard" (see more details within webpage).

The kitchen area has a counter bar with four re-upholstered '08 barstools & the dining room glass topped table seats four. The appliances in the kitchen are electric- oven/stove, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator with ice maker. The kitchen continues to be inventoried & re-stocked (ask for Excel file via e-mail).

The air conditioning is central, NEW air handler Jan. 2009/condenser Dec. 2007- no window units in this beautiful duplex! As well as ceiling fans in 4 rooms & NEWER full-size washer and dryer in hall closet (no going downstairs or outside). You do not need anything but your luggage! Are you ready to BOOK yet?

The Keys have been called the "American Caribbean". Key Colony Beach is in the middle of the Florida Keys adjacent to Marathon.
Fly into Key West,Ft. Lauderdale (FLL), West Palm Beach(WPB) or Miami (MIA- caution, very busy, allow extra time) airports. This is a great vacation destination for the whole family & especially children! The 25 MPH speed limit is strictly enforced & the "jogging/ walking/biking paths" run throughout the community, in front of our rental!

And being a planned community, KCB offers everything within short walking distance- The Cabana Club, Inch Beach, Sunset Beach (beautiful sunsets), a par three nine-hole golf course, childrens playground, as well as tennis and basketball courts. Three restaurants, liquor store, convenience store and full service marina with dive shop, boat rentals, fishing & dive charters are here as well! Key Colony Beach is a great central location for a day trip- an 1 hour drive to Key West!

  • Hi Patty, just a quick note to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Oceans Drive. We celebrated an anniversary and birthday and your extra touch of leaving mimosas in the fridge was a great surprise and very much appreciated. It was also a plus that you accept dogs as it's hard to leave ours home during vacations. For anyone trying to decide where to stay, Keys Ocean should not be overlooked. All the necessities of home have been provided. You will also find square footage often not available in most 1/2 duplexes. The location is great, walking distance to Inch Beach, Sunset Park, Key Colony Inn, and even Cabana Club. The only thing I missed was an Internet connection, but only a little since I wasn't here to work. Thanks again for a great stay!

  • Patty, We highly recommend your home to the vacationers who want to relax and enjoy thier surroundings. Your home is very comfortable and roomy, tastefully furnished, well maintained and especially clean. You have thought of everything when it comes to a guests needs. One of our favorite features was Inch Beach. It was literally like having your own private beach across the street. We took full advantage by cooking out and eating at the "Tiki Hut" pavillion in the evenings. We walked to "Sunset Park" for the views and met people from all over. The "Cabanna Club" is another wonderful feature with all the amenities you need for a day at the pool or beach. Your home provided the perfect back drop for our family memories and we will definitely be back. We had friends staying in another location that came to visit us during our stay. They were so impressed that they took down your information for next year. I've reccomended your home to friends and family for future visits and hope these comments help convince potential guests that this is the place to stay.   • This house had everything we needed for a wonderful week of vacation. My husband really appreciated the bait freezer on the dock next to the boat and I really appreciated how well organized and stocked the house is down to a deep fryer and salad bowl set. Although we really didn't use it because we were on our boat most of the time, Inch beach is a beautiful spot that would be absolutely perfect for small children to play in. And lastly I would like to thank Patty and Barry for allowing us to bring our little dog. It is very difficult to find a nice place to stay that allows animals. It was wonderful to be able to bring her with us. Thank you so much!

Plus I am able to send a complete inventory list (Excel) of the furnishings upon request! This helps those driving in to know what to pack or not!!!!   • We had a very nice stay at the Ocean Drive Duplex. Very clean and all the comforts of home. We liked that it was centrally located in the Keys. Key Colony Beach is a quiet and relaxing island, and only an hour from a little more action in Key West. The weather was always perfect and the water Awesome in color! So Beautiful! We would for sure recommend this Duplex and area to anyone. We thought Patty was very accomodating and thoughtful.

  • This was the ideal vacation rental! Incredibly clean, well-stocked and convenient to everything! Taking our 11 month old to Inch Beach or the Cabana Club was so easy and enjoyable! Had a boat delivered to the spacious dock and the canal location was so convenient for fishing/boating. Kitchen had everything we needed, and loved the furnished linens (more than enough!). Enjoyed walking to the great playground and the friendliness of the residents. Loved all the nearby restaurants. Can't say enough great things about this rental -- just would love to rent again next year!

    Erica and her friends really liked the fact that we have the Inch Beach membership for their toddlers to play in the grassy area just across the street! She also told me on the phone that she "loved" the washer & dryer- that they were "better than their own at home"! I told her that they were the same Brand & Model #s that I have in my home in Ohio.....no commercial type machines in our rental! And we LOVE repeat renters!

  • We visited the property the last week of January, 2009 with our friends,the Distels. The house is perfect for a vacation in the Keys. The decor was tropical and the colors were perfect. We loved the cool aquas and blues. Our location made travel to all areas of the Keys easy. All the amenities were there--I could not think of anything else we needed. We enjoyed Inch Beach and also Sunset Beach-and got to enjoy a concert there one evening. We did not have time to visit the Cabana club. One of the nicest things was sitting on the balcony watching the sun rise or set, reading, eating our breakfast,and greeting all the neighbors who walked along the sidewalk--everyone was so friendly. This place is a must if you enjoy having luxury plus convenience.

    Here's what Jane had already written me, another guest that NEVER made it to our CC (Cabana Club) membership but instead really enjoyed INCH BEACH- the private membership that we offer. In a referral group that I belong to of 30 owners that rent, there are 2 of us with Inch Beach and we (Keys Ocean Drive) are the only one with both Inch Beach and The CC! Dear Patty, We returned to snow land on Sunday but still have your beautiful beachhouse and the Keys in our minds. We had a great time and enjoyed living for a short while in paradise. Your house was perfect. We loved the location and your decor was beautiful.   • Patty, I just wanted to say again that we had a wonderful family vacation at your duplex. It had everything we needed and I would highly recommend it to anyone with kids. My two nephews learned how to fish off of the canal dock and I got a great picture of that first catch for my Christmas newsletter. The boys hunted for treasure on several occasions at our “private” beach thanks to the duplex's Inch Beach membership. Odd as it may seem, I also really liked the fact that the duplex was keyless. Having to enter a code to get into the duplex meant we didn’t have to worry about the keys being dropped into the Gulf, which has been known to happen. And, did I mention that the sunsets from the balcony were really awesome? We can’t wait to come back!

  • We stayed here the week of October 5th - 12th and LOVED it! It was my husband, 13 month old daughter, and 19 year old brother. We can't say enough about the location. A canal in the backyard, Inch Beach across the street, and Sunset Park less than two blocks away! Inch Beach was clean, private with clear water that we enjoyed more than Bahia Honda. We enjoyed the Cabana Club pool, but liked "our" private little Inch Beach best! We rented a boat on the island from Captain Bob at Vacation Rentals, who was also great to deal with. We were very pleased that we stayed on Key Colony and were pleased with our location on the island. (We had looked at places on the lower number streets, but were glad we were on the other side of the island.) The home was well stocked - although, I don't think everything was left for us (laundry detergent to start first load when leaving, kleenex, toilet paper). BUT we have a 13 month old, so I had to buy more anyway and we just left what I had bought at the house. I cooked several meals during the week and the only thing I really looked for was a ladle for soup. My husband and I agree that we would definitely stay here again (& again)!!

    Thanks Kristie for the great review of our place and Inch Beach! This is a "rare" membership that few rentals offer and guests LOVE it! And right across the street, some drive or walk a LONG distance to enjoy Inch Beach. Just read other guest comments about it on this comment section. And I regret that there wasn't enough kleenex or toilet paper. I will address this with our Property Manager and see why this would happen as I have a very detailed and specific check list for supplies that must be checked and stocked for every guest's arrival, including at least one load of laundry detergent! Luckily, this won't stop Kristie and her family from returning to Keys Ocean Drive. And Kristie takes her brothers on vacation when they graduate from high school- what a generous sister she is! Here is this list again: My Property Manager is instructed to leave the following products, if not, please bring to my attention at check in (I hope this list helps future guests pack): Toilet Paper- 4 rolls- 2 per bathroom Kleenex- min. 3 boxes in 3-4 locations Paper plates for last meal B-4 checkout Paper cups for bathrooms Paper Towels- 1 full roll Trash Bags- min. 2- 1 in can & 1 extra Kitchen baggies, foil, clear wrap Pads of paper & pens in 2 locs. (min.) Bar Soap- 1 bar in each bathroom Softsoap- pumps filled in 3 locations Cleaning Products- Dishwasher soap, Dish soap,Windex,Disinfectants, All-Purp.Cleaners (2),Toilet Bowl cleaner, Carpet Spot cleaner, 1 NEW sponge, Vacuum, Mop, Bucket, Broom, Dustpan, Extra Light Bulbs, Iron & Board, and laundry detergent for at least one final load (see contract terms).   • I stayed at the vacation home during the last two weeks of August 2008 with my husband and parents. We found it to be spacious, comfortable and complete with everything we needed to make our vacation great. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are likely to book it again next year. The Key Colony beach area itself is not only beautiful- it's also very relaxed and chilled out- a great place for anybody who is looking to stay somewhere peaceful and meet other laid back people.

I especially liked that you had all the kitchen implements that I needed because I like to cook.xxxxx It may sound odd but what I love most about your vacation home is the accent pieces- everything you chose reflects the Keys and shows you love your property.My husband and I like your property so much that we are interested in renting it again at some point- perhaps we will take my step daughter and step-grandkids if they impress us with good grades at the end of the school year. We bought a tank of propane for the grill which we didn't use but my husband put the receipt somewhere and couldn't find it again so not to worry.
