Perfect Mountain Paradise!

Guest: C & R from Missouri (Springfield, MO USA)
Date of Stay: 03/09/12 Review Submitted: 03/31/12

This was our first mountain get-away and did not know what to expect, but there were absolutely NO disappointments. Our stay in this cabin was exactly what we were seeking; quiet, beautiful mountain view, peacefulness, privacy, nature, snow, comfortable, cozy, clean, adorable, warm, great kitchen to cook in (we never ate out once!). Our portable internet worked very well so we had unexpected internet access. We met the deer family, we enjoyed a 3 hour hike on a trail just a mile up the road. Sharon and Tony were responsive and available if we needed anything. So many great DVDs to watch. It was hard to come home and we see no reason to go anywhere else on our next trip to the mountains. Can't wait to go back!

it doesn't get any better than this...

Guest: Diana (South Central Texas)
Date of Stay: 10/11/11 Review Submitted: 10/23/11

When you buy "on line" you just never know. When you use cash... and there is no credit card "insurance"… it might be risky. Not this time. The cabin is just awesome, just as described, and the pictures do not do the view justice. The cabin is perfectly located, cute "as a button." I felt at home the minute I came through the door. The cabin is also dog friendly and my four-legged was snoozing on the rug within an hour. I love to cook and the ktichen was fully equipped for that purpose. It does not get any better than that. So, If you want to get away from the world, this is the place. If you want a great location to do all the local tourist activities: Cripple Creek, Florissant National Monument, Pike's Peak, Garden of the Gods, the Wolf Rescue Center, super hiking and cross country skiing or any of the other tourist spots in Colorado Spring area, then this is your place. The locals are friendly, the little grocery in Divide is not over priced and McGinty's Pub and Restaurant next door has awesome wood fired pizza. My vehicle battery died and the local Divide mechanic @ Big Sky Auto had me in and out with a new battery in under 15 minutes (he stopped what he was doing so I could be on my way and did not charge an arm and a leg). The owner(s), Sharon was great in letting me know what to expect and ensuring that if I needed anything, to contact her or Tony. And, oh by the way, your ATT won't work at 9500 feet but my Verizon Air Card worked 90% of the time. So, if you need to work, sorry about that but you still can. HIGHLY RECOMMEND...hate to say that since next year I likely will not be able to get a week here (let alone two.) Thanks, Sharon and Tony for a “great escape”. I loved the "attitude" and every minute of my stay.

Little Slice of Heaven Visit 7-10 October, 2011

Guest: rose (round rock)
Date of Stay: 10/07/11 Review Submitted: 10/13/11

I'm a Travel Consultant so even when I'm on vacation I look at places through my client's eyes. This cabin is a perfect place for a couple getaway or for up to 4 people if one does not mind sleeping on a sofa sleeper. It is a small intimate cabin with everything you will need for a nice stay. The decor is just what I want in a Colorado Mountain cabin the big log bed and bear and moose theme. The cabin has an open floor plan so feels very spacious and everything is very well kept and fresh. It looked like the kitchen had been updated with new sink and the cabinets were filled with almost anything you need to cook. The BEST is the view and this picture is one that I just took but after almost a foot of snow. It was great to see Fall and then have Winter all in one visit. The greatest thing is you feel like you are so secluded but yet you are only about 5 minutes off a main road and very close to Pikes Peak and Colorado Springs. Tony and Sharon were very easy to deal with and had everything just as listed on their information. I was worried that we would have a hard time finding the cabin but Sharon gave us great directions and plenty of information on stores and things in the area. Tony and Sharon "Thank you" for sharing your "Little Slice of Heaven" with us! The Wrights Round Rock, Texas

Owner response:Sharon - thanks so much for the great review. We are so pleased your stay was all you had hoped for in a getaway. Your comments mean a lot to us since we know you have seen it all as a travel consultant! Thanks and we hope you will return again when you can stay longer.

A little slice of heaven on the mountainside

We found Altitude with Attitude on VRBO.com while searching for a late summer/early fall getaway, and having just finished our stay, we can honestly say this was one of the best vacations we've ever had. Every facet of our stay exceeded our expectations, from the incredible views of the mountains and wildlife to having nearly all the amenities of living comfortably at home. We needed a week away to unplug, and the cabin was isolated enough to make that possible (NO cell phone service, a welcome feature), but still close enough to plenty of places for food and supplies. Sharon and Tony are the perfect hosts, with their kindness and hospitality only outweighed by their eagerness to accommodate even the smallest needs of their guests. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay, and are already talking about plans for another trip. A beautiful place to get away, we highly recommended Sharon and Tony's Altitude with Attitude for anyone looking for a picturesque retreat or an escape from the metropolis. Don't be afraid to set some lofty expectations, because between the comfy cabin and it's wonderful owners, you won't be disappointed!

Altitude with Attitude is the perfect description for this peaceful mountain cabin. The view of Pikes' Peak from the deck is beautiful and it is the perfect place for rest and relaxation. The cabin is just as described in the listing and shown in the photos. This owner has thought of everything you could need and then some, it has all the comforts of home. Very neat and clean and a cute cabin decor. The owner is very courteous and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend this location to anyone wanting to just "get away from it all." We will definitely be returning next year.

My son & I spent the July 4th week at this cabin for my retirement get away. The cabin was well stocked with cooking utensils, updated appiances, towels, blankets etc., satelite TV & a great sound system. Just stop in town and bring your food!!! The views from the deck or breath taking with a large mountain range of 12,000 + peaks for veiwing. Its very quiet up their and all you hear is the wind blowing through the spruce trees. The trees smell fantastic even in the summer. Their or world class hiking trails and rock climbing in the area that or moderate to extreme. The climate is mild during the daytime and pleasant for hiking anytime. Be sure to bring some warm clothing even in the daytime because a thunder shower can lower the temperature down to 48 degrees in a hurry. If you want to go out to dinner Criple Creek is close by and has several Casino's with excellent restaurants and a mountain train ride. I've traveled all over Colorado, Estes Park, Aspen, Glenwood Springs and this area is just as beautiful and is moderatly priced. The owners or very courteouse and don't bug you at all. I will definitely be planning another trip to this cabin A.S.A.P!!!!

Owner response:We are so pleased you and your son were able to celebrate your well deserved retirement in our little mountain getaway. We appreciate the great comments about Altitude with Attitude and invite you to return as soon as your schedule allows.

We had a fabulous time, Sharon and Tony! Your cabin has a magnificent mountain view, is kept very clean and well-stocked. Each morning we welcomed a visit from ten deer exploring the property. The day before we left it snowed about six inches, allowing us to see spectacular winter beauty even in May! We enjoyed walking the trails and we'll be back! Thank you.

Date of Stay: 09/20/10 Review Submitted: 11/19/10

Perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of busy life. Georgous views, very relaxing. Cabin has been very well equiped with everything -- it is like sneaking away and having the BEST host/hostess you have ever had. Thank you for thinking of everything! LOTS and lots of travel information available for the area attractions. The cabin is as described and as shown in the photos. Tidy and well maintained. We took in local attractions: pike's peak, garden of the gods, king's chef diner in Co springs, skyline drive in Canyon City, the winery there, ate at "Colorado Wines" place by the river, shopping in manitou springs....great fun! We will be returning (soon, I hope!) best time away in years!

We had a great, refreshing time, thank you! The view from the porch is every bit as lovely as the picture shows, and the cabin is comfortable and well appointed. It is a very peaceful and private setting and was just what we needed to relax. Also, some might be interested to know that my Sprint Overdrive (Internet wireless broadband modem) worked most of the time so I could deal with some email I had to without having to drive down.

Perfect vacation in Colorado

Guest: Mia (South Elgin, Il.)
Date of Stay: 08/16/10 Review Submitted: 08/26/10

We just got back from a 10 day vacation staying at this cabin. The photos and description don't begin to show how homey and comfortable the cabin is. The cabin was very clean and so many extras were provided that it felt like being at home. The location was remote enough that you felt like you were away from the stress of everyday life, but within easy driving distance of many attractions and things to do. We were expecially pleased with all the information that Sharon and Tony provided on things to do in the area. They even had information on nearby hiking trails ranging from short and easy to longer and more challenging. Our 10 days went by so fast I can't believe it's over already. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a beautiful and peaceful place to relax and get away from the stress of everyday life. We can't wait to return.

As "flat landers" from western Nebraska, we are always drawn to the mts. on our annual girlfriends summer road trips. We are so glad we chose this great cabin this year. It had everything we needed and more. Gorgeous views all the time, great deck and grill, quiet, so comfy, peaceful and easy access to whatever you wanted to do and see. We had no trouble putting up with the "rowdy neighbors" either. Tony and Sharon were so hospitable to work with. It was difficult to pack up and leave.

This place is actually a small house, not a cabin, with very nice amenities and furnishings. It is also very quiet and secluded. We went there to cool off from the summer heat which it is perfect for. It is best for couples because of the size. Saw some deer and a fox while there.

It is private but not too far away from everything one would want to do. The wife and I can't wait to return.

Sharon and Tony's cabin is just awesome and so are they!! This was a perfect place to get away. Great cabin, great view and great location and a lot of extras. Snowed on us Monday night and Tuesday we were on the deck jammin to music and sunbathing. Many attractions surround the cabin all within a days adventure - Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Royal Gorge, Dinosaur Museum, Collegiate Peaks, Cripple Creek and more. It was always nice to come "home" to the cabin. Once again what a great cabin - We loved it!!

This Cabin is Great!!!! First morning we encountered a small fox off the deck while we were having coffee, we had fun watching him watch us, it was great. Next morning the Rowdy neighbors (deer) showed up and hung out why we enjoyed our breakfast outside, shortly after that came the snow. It was great to see the snow against the Aspen trees. Everything in the Cabin was great and lots of extras. If you get a chance go and eat at the Wines of Colorado. Tony and Sharon are great and accomidated us on really short notice, we had a great anniversary. We will remember it forever.

My boyfriend and I got engaged at Altitude with Attitude on Thanksgiving weekend, 2008! We love to get away to the mountains, and Altitude with Attitude was exactly what we were looking for. It is secluded (but not too far away from amenities and attractions) and peaceful. The cabin was stocked with everything we could have wanted or needed. The bed was extremely comfortable; the whole place felt like home immediately. Tony and Sharon have obviously taken great care to make sure their guests can truly relax and enjoy themselves while at the cabin. If you stay here, you must hike 'The Crags'. The view from the top rivals that of any other we've seen in this state. We also enjoyed first class customer service from Sharon. She made the rental process easy and enjoyable. We would higly recommend this cabin. It's a classic Colorado experience!

We've never been to Colorado, and had been planning our vacation for over two years. We were looking for the perfect place to stay and found it in Altitude with Attitude! I think of our stay at this cabin every day. The views were awesome and the deck was so relaxing we didn't want to leave. But there were so many things to do! Pike's Peak was a few short minutes drive from the front door. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to get away from it all. Tony & Sharon were very easy to work with. We had the best anniversary vacation we could ever have, and Altitude with Attitude was a part of it. Thanks for the memories.

We are a couple of "burned out" accountants from Wisconsin looking to relax and experience the "real" Colorado. We stayed at Altitude with Attitude Sept 10-14, 2008 and this cabin truly lives up to all of the positive reviews it receives. We have stayed at many VRBO properties across the country and this was one of our best finds. It was cozy, modern, well-equipped and the view was breath-taking. In fact, we spent hours just sitting on the deck, listening to music, and soaking in the view. It was just perfect as the leaves were turning colors and it snowed on the top of the mountains in the early evenings. Beautiful! We even made friends with some deer and a fox who would come by to visit daily. If you are looking for a romantic hideaway in the mountains of Colorado, this place fits the bill. And the location is convenient to so many activities. The owners are also well organized and great to work with. I highly recommend this cabin and hope to return someday.

Just got back from a wonderful stay in this immaculate, private and beautiful cabin! Upon arrival we were greeted by a doe and her baby, what a pleasant surprise! The rest of the weekend was spent building a fire in the wood stove, (it took my boyfriend a few tries but he now considers himself the master :), sitting out on the deck and just enjoying the spectacular views and crisp mountain air. This cabin has everything that you would have in your own home, the Sloans have thought of everything to make you comfortable. If you enjoy fishing, check out 11 mile canyon it's only about 30min away and it's spectacular.

This was our first trip to the Colorado Springs area and we searched long and hard to find the perfect place to stay during our visit as we were not familiar with the area. If this is what they mean by "finding a needle in a hay stack" then we found that needle with Altitude with Attitude. The accommodations were simply awesome, from the leather couches to the large LCD flat panel TV to the spectacular mountain views, which can only really be described as "You have to see it for yourself" and pictures really don't do it justice. If you visit the area with intentions of seeing some the sites, I will have to warn you that it will be difficult to leave the cabin as relaxation sets in. There were a couple of days when we were out visiting some of the typical tourist spots and decided to skip places on our list just so we could get back to the cabin. Sharon and Tony were just the easiest people to work with and we can't wait till our next visit.

The reason we chose this home is because of all the positively glowing comments from previous guests. It is difficult, if not impossible, to improve on that feedback! We had the privilege of staying during what must be the PEAK of the aspens turning golden! The drive from the cabin to Hwy 67 towards Cripple Creek was nothing short of phenomenal. The cabin is 35 minutes or less from Manitou Springs and the Cog Wheel Railway to Pike's Peak. But if you want to skip all the tourist spots, and just stay at the cabin, you will NOT be disappointed. It is serene and exhilirating all at the same time! The mountain air is perfumed by the pines all around. Sitting on the deck, drinking a glass of wine and watching the sunset ignite the distant mountains was spectacular! The interior is spotless and so very well "stocked" with books, movies and staples...just bring your perishables and put them in the frig and enjoy life as it should be! There is a bottled water dispenser [hot & cold] so you don't have to lug in bottled water. There are so many ameneties...too many to list. PLUS, Sharon told me there are "improvements" in the immediate future! This vacation will be etched into my memory forever. MAKE YOUR RESERVATION NOW!!! Many thanks to Sharon & Tony for their gracious hospitality. We plan to return!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this cabin. All of the comments in the guest book were just as positive as those posted on the internet. The cabin was "like new" and just what you picture a mountain get-away to be. A beautiful secluded mountain setting with many amenities included. It is close to several hiking trails as well as other tourist sites. A huge movie library, books, satellite TV, a gas grill and wood burning stove are all nice features. Owners are very easy to work with. We highly recommend this VRBO.

The view from the deck is spectacular, and the sunrise over the mountains is breathtaking! The temperatures ranged from the 40s in the mornings to the 60s in the afternoons. The cabin is perfect for a couple, and you really do feel right at home. Tony and Sharon are wonderful people, and they have thought of everything. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a private, peaceful place to spend some quality time while surrounded by exceptional beauty.

Perfect for my sabbatical week. The Sloans have thought of virtually everything needed to relax, refresh and regenerate. Excellent new deck with spectacular views.

We had a great time at this wonderful mountain retreat! In fact, before the weekend was over we were already planning our next visit. The owners are terrific to work with and the property couldn't be better. We would highly recommend this cabin for anyone wanting a cozy cabin with great views and all the amenities!

All of the other comments are sooo true and then some. What a great place to spend time in Colorado. Tony and Sharon thought of everything to make this cabin feel like your own private home in the mountains!! Thank you so much from the whole Glenn family!

What a great vacation!! This cabin was wonderful and equipped with everything a person could need. The view was so awesome that we used an entire roll of film the first night. There's nothing better than sitting on the deck in the morning watching the sun come up over the mountains and sitting in front of a fire at night. Thanks to Tony and Sharon for everything - see you next year!!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin and the view was absolutely gorgeous. We had the quiet and tranquility that we were looking for, but it was also close enough to the attractions we wanted to see.

What an awsome cabin!! This cabin was gorgous and the view made it even better. The only thing that was wrong with it was that my family didn't want to leave. It is in the perfect location, far enough away from everything to be private but close enough to the attractions. Tony and Sharon are wonderful people to deal with also.
