This house is very popular with families and has all the amenities to move in and enjoy your vacation including boogie boards.
Our triplex is perfect for family reunions, retreats, or for peaceful getaways. The beach access is right across the street for those who enjoy the sand and long walks in the afternoon. Enjoy grilling dinner or sun bathing on the upstairs deck while reading the book of your choice.

GROUND FLOOR has (3b/2b) three bedrooms, two baths, sofa sleeper, large great room, fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washer, dryer, stereo, cable TV and DVD. The dining table in this unit has extensions allowing it to seat up to 12 people comfortably or 16 scrunched up. This unit comes with a large private covered deck furnished with table, chairs and a grill. There is also a foosball table for tournaments.
SECOND FLOOR includes TWO SEPARATE QUARTERS
UNIT 2(2b/1b) two bedrooms, one bath with sleeper sofa, full kitchen, dining room, living room, cable TV, DVD, and a private deck area furnished with table, chairs and grill.

THE ISLAND IS TERRIFIC. THE WEATHER IS GREAT IN SOUTH PADRE THRUGHOUT MOST OF THE YEAR AND OUR BEACH HOME PROVIDES A HOME AWAY FROM HOME WHEN EVER WE HAVE SOME TIME OFF. WE LOVE THE LOCATION BECAUSE THE BEACH IS JUST ACROSS THE STREET AND THE SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS ARE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE.

WE LOVE OUR BEACH HOME BECAUSE OF ITS SIZE. WE BOTH COME FROM LARGE FAMILIES, (50 IN ONE AND 38 IN THE OTHER) SO WHEN EVER WE CAN, WE INVITE THEM IN GROUPS TO STAY OVER AND ENJOY OUR HOME AND THE BEACH ACROSS THE STREET.
THE ONLY THING BETTER THAN FAMILY AND FOOD WE HAVE FOUND TO BE FAMILY AND FOOD AT THE BEACH HOUSE.

so it just so happens that my husband and my sister's boyfriend have the same birthdate so we decided to stay at Canto Del Mar. i had previously stayed there with a large family group and my sister and i felt it was the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing birthday weekend with the boys. the beach is just right across the street which made the sunrise easy to see from the balcony. i also felt it was easy to take all our chairs and umbrella with snacks to sit out and enjoy the sun and water. it wasn't a long walk on difficult sand like other places that i've stayed at. The room we stayed in was perfect for us couples. the kitchen had everything we needed to help make our bbq a little more cozy. having an outside shower to wash off the sand was a great thing as well. becuase i hate to have sand build up in the room. overall i would highly suggest this location for short relaxing weekend or even a long much needed family week vacation. i just booked another weekend at the end of the month to enjoy the weather before starts to cool down.... I CAN'T WAIT!! :)

This is the greatest getaway spot. Convienince is everything, this location has it all. The beach is just across the street and stores for your last minute items are very close by. Its definately the place to make you feel right at home. If anyone is looking for a looking a vaction location, stop looking and call this place, you won't regret it. The place is very well maintained and the owners are always available to tend to any concerns you might have. I will surely return to this place even if its just for weekend getaway.

For the money, it's a good deal. We looked high & low for something to accommodate 2 families (7 kids and 4 adults). For what we paid, I thought we did really well. There is some room for improvement, however. First & foremost, I think the air conditioner vents need to be cleaned. Large amounts of dust would randomly fly off the vents and around the floors. I think this was the primary reason for the musty smell. Some of the rooms were particularly smelly, although you get used to it. During our 6 day stay, we saw less than 7 roaches. I don't know if this is good or bad. I'm just stating the facts. I personally don't have roaches in my house, but I don't live on the beach... this could be standard or above average for beach property, I really don't know. Found our upstairs neighbors QUITE loud: going up & down the steps, pulling out kitchen chairs - ALL these sounds were magnified on the bottom floor. The twin bedroom has a closet that houses the main a/c unit. It is LOUD when it comes on and creates quite the breeze. If the door isn't latched, it will pull it right open - and that door is hard to latch because it sticks. The full/double bed in the "bunk room" (the room with the bunk beds) is uncomfortable. I don't know if it was the mattress or the boxspring or what, but it made a noise every time you moved and it was uneven. The more I think about it, I think it was probably a sofabed mattress atop a boxspring. Once the other family left and we slept in the king bed it was like sleeping in heaven in comparison. Try to avoid putting an adult in that dbl bed. Kids probably wouldn't know/notice the difference. The double-bed on the bottom of the bunk bed was more comfortable than that one. The kitchen is quite adequate. We were pleasantly surprised to find salt, pepper, and some other random seasonings already there. Also, they had lots of glad-ware type storage containers for keeping your leftovers. They had plenty of pots & pans, plates, silverware etc. The dishwasher is nice -- definitely a step or two above a "standard" dishwasher, with options like top-rack only cleaning. While the table may be big enough to seat 12 "all scrunched up", it had only 1 leaf in it and only 8 chairs. We absolutely loved having the outdoor shower to keep the sand out of the house. LOVED the boogie boards & sand toys. The front porch was nice & big and breezy. The beach access was SO convenient. We really did enjoy our stay!

We hosted our large family at Canto Del Mar and enjoyed the house very much. The proximity to the beach and outdoor showers were convenient and appreciated. Ample parking, nice layout, comfortable furnishings. Our maintenance needs were quickly addressed. An additional washer/dryer would have been ideal. Thanks very much, we had a wonderful vacation.
