About this property

Welcome to our Tok A Lou Beach House. She is a 1926 craftsman style beauty situated on the shipping lanes of the Port of Tacoma. We have tried to maintain the early flair of the home as much as possible while making it modernly comfortable. The windows and doors reflect the quality and care that went into building this solid attractive home. The door knobs and hardware are the original glass and brass. Our home has 1 bedroom located on the main floor with a queen bed, TV, and walk in closet. The full bathroom is also located on the main floor. An upstairs sleeping attic boasts both a queen and double bed plus two wing back chairs in a sitting area that looks out over Puget Sound and the city of Tacoma. Non stop views from main floor living room with gas log fireplace, a 60 inch TV, Blue Ray player and Bose sound system. The Laundry Room has a full size washer and dryer. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils, dishes, pots, pans and many spices. The covered front porch allows a protected area to observe the endless variety of water craft as they parade in and out of marinas and the Port. A direct plumbed Weber BBQ is located on the south side patio along with sitting area. Enjoy the view while grilling up something delicious!
Please note that we live in a quiet, serene neighborhood. Please respect our neighbors privacy and enjoyment of their homes. Parties or loud functions will result in loss of security deposit. Our home is a small and cozy paradise and thus a maximum of 4 adults allowed. Pets and additional guests will have an additional charge. Enjoy...

PERFECT!

We stayed a week and we pretty much didn't leave the back porch! The water activity was nonstop... there were so many cargo ships, tugboats, sailboats, fishing boats & even kayaks having races. In the evening we ate dinner while watching the sunset. Front, side & backyards were charming, filled with nature & fragrant roses. Neighborhood was quiet & well maintained. Geez... haven't even talked about the cottage! Check-in process was effortless & walking into the secluded yard and seeing the charming cottage, we instantly felt at home. Cottage was clean, well equipped with everything imaginable & the bed was comfy. We've just moved to Oregon & in the past we have always had "OUR" favorite place that we could escape to. THANKS to Joe & Jenny we have found it!

Terrific Beach Cottage!

Wonderful to return to Browns Point where I grew up, with friends and family here and close by. Loved seeing the restored Lighthouse, marine life, kite surfing and sailboat regatta.

Beautiful Views

This property has amazing views of the water with the mountains behind it. The house is fully stocked and the hosts were very responsive to my questions.

Working from vacation home😊

This property is beautiful. Very clean well stocked and Joe is a very responsive owner. The views are breathtaking and the sunset inspiring. Gino’s restaurant is close by and a. family run business that has excellent cuisine and a beautiful view. I will stay there again when we aren’t working for sure!! Thanks again!!

Little Bit of Heaven in Tacoma

This beautiful home was perfect for me and my daughter. I have yet to stay in a VBRO that was better equipped. They have thought of EVERYTHING. It was like being at home but on the water.with a SPECTACULAR view. On our very first day We were treated with a sailboat race and their turn was literally in our back yard. Joe and Jenny where the best host we could not have asked for nicer people. This spot was convenient to everything, but best of all it was peaceful and charming. I just cannot say enough, as it was a total package and I would definitely recommend it If you are in Tacoma.

Interesting story ... suffice it to say the moon and the stars aligned just right and we were blessed with the wonderful energy this house brings to all who sleep under her roof.

What makes this property unique

The old Craftsman has a large covered porch that allows you to spend hours gazing at the water and all of the activities that the Port brings. The entertainment and variety seem to never stop. The home and all of its 1926 details bring back many memories of growing up......(my great grand parents house.... of course....).
