About this property

Palazzo Notarbartolo an extraordinary charming house in the heart of Venice

The apartment is part of a patrician palace presumably dating back to 1300, formerly the seat of the Doge Marcello family. For several centuries it has been owned by my family and only 40 years ago it has been renovated and divided into apartments.

It is located in an absolutely enviable and strategic position a few steps from the Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco.

It maintains many of its original beautiful and characteristic architectural elements: the verdant private garden with the characteristic well and the water door, the imposing wooden entrance door to the garden.

Inside the apartment, the high ceilings of over 5 meters with gothic trifora windows and the beautiful "Sansovino" coffered ceiling stand out. The apartment occupies part of the original ancient library and the dining room of the old building.

The house is equipped with effective air conditioning. In the living room, under the mezzanine, two large sofas (one of which is a double bed), a small table and a large flat-screen TV, offer a pleasant relaxation area. The dining area, under the large windows, is part of the living room. Everything is pleasantly decorated with antiques. On the mezzanine, above the sofa area, there is a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a single bed, a baby bed and a wardrobe. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and functional, there is a table for breakfast or informal meals. The main bathroom has a bathtub with shower, two sinks, toilet and bidet. Stairs lead from the entrance corridor to the bright main bedroom with half-moon windows. The master bedroom has a small bathroom with sink and toilet.

Completely renovated with a mix of modern sensitivity and respect for original details, Palazzo Notarbartolo will offer its guests a unique and unforgettable experience in Venice!

Tenants are provided with bed linen and towels; the cleaning service is provided only at the end of the stay for short periods, for periods longer than a week the price includes a cleaning service and change of linen.

The tourist tax of € 4.00 per person / night (up to 5 nights) is payable in cash on arrival. Children up to 10 years do not pay, young children from 10 to 16 pay 50%.

We loved our apartment at Palazzo Notarbartolo. We were a couple and two singles traveling together, and the bedding was perfect for our group. The only thing we wished for was a map in the apartment marking the routes to St. Mark’s Square and another to the Rialto bridge. We were instructed to take a water taxi to Campiello Santa Marina. This was just a short distance from the apartment with only one bridge in between. The manager met us there and escorted us to the apartment. When we departed, we took a water taxi to the airport. While the taxis are pricey, this was extremely convenient as the airport has docks that they pull right into the airport with luggage carts and a well-marked route to the terminal that is enclosed with even ground for moving luggage!

Excellent location!
All was great. Communication with the hosts was prompt. Everything you need walking distance just a few min away. I came by train and caught the Vaporetto on Lot E to Rialto and walked 8min to the location. Thats Rialto not Rialto Market. Me and my kid stayed here for 3 days on our trip through Italy and Spain. Very little time was spent in the rental but it's great for people who do like to spend time in their rental. The only down side was the slight sewage smell from the downstairs bathroom but this is a common thing in all of Italy and Spain unfortunately. Luckily theres a big window in that bathroom that can be opened for airing out. Theres a grocery shop few feet from the front door which comes in handy. All in all this place was pretty great.

Absolutely perfect!!
This lovely place was the perfect arrangement for our stay in Venice. The two bedrooms gave us plenty of room to have personal space. The living room and dining room provided a space to relax each day after a busy time seeing the site. Andrea was the perfect host and was in touch from before the trip and during to make sure we had everything we needed and answer any questions we had. The location was away from the crowds and close to groceries, restaurants and personal water taxi. I would definitely stay here again!!!👍👍👍👍👍
