The Puffin House is located at the edge of Nehalem State Park, with miles of great biking and walking trails, horseback riding, access to the bay for kayaking, boating, crabbing, and fishing. It is also a short three-block walk from the house to seven-mile long Manzanita Beach, one of the most spectacular beaches on the north coast. If you feel up for a good walk, head south on Manzanita Beach and walk to the jetty, which is usually covered with seals lounging on the rocks or fishing in the water, along with heron and egrets searching for crabs at water's edge.
If golf is your game, the house is only four blocks from the beautiful Manzanita Golf Course (nine hole) or a short walk to the driving range, if you just feel like practicing. There is ample parking for a boat, and the boat ramp into the bay is less than a mile down the road in the State Park.
The tastefully furnished house is also perfectly suited for simply lazing about; reading, listening to music, relaxing on the deck, or watching the deer graze in the yard, and taking in all the natural beauty around you. The house has bicycles of all sizes, a fully-equipped kitchen, TV with DVD and VCR, porta-crib, high chair and all linens are provided. It is a truly relaxing getaway.
As for the town of Manzanita, it is one of the few towns along the North Oregon coast that is not located directly on Highway 101. This provides a quiet and secluded vacation yet still keeps you close to shopping, dining, and recreation. Manzanita boasts some delicious dining experiences, as well as fun and unique shopping, and beach activities. It has two small grocery stores, gift and antique shops, a diverse choice of restaurants a wine bar, a day spa, bakery, and a city park with play structure and tennis courts.
A gorgeous long beach, golf, tennis, hiking, surfing, boating, and other coastal activities are all available in this charming town.
Two nearby towns - Nehalem one mile and Wheeler five miles - offer river and bay activities as well as good antiquing and restaurants.

My friend and I had a great time here. The fire pit in the backyard is such a great place to hang out until late night. I appreciated the hardwood, the fully functional and equipped kitchen, and the location is great. It is on a quiet street about a five minute walk away from the beach.

We very much enjoyed this home for new years 2010-11. A lovely 15-minute walk to downtown; quiet, clean, and easy. Owners were excellent to work with. Oh~ and we all agreed that this home is THE most tastefully decorated beach home we have ever stayed in. j

There were no surprises at the Puffin House. Everything was in order and it was very comfortable for the 5 of us. I actually wished we'd had younger children to bring along. We didn't use the bicycles but there are LOTS of them. The house is an easy walk to the beach, downtown, and the state park.

We had a great time at the Puffin house. It was very nicely decorated, clean, and the amenities were good. Our kids (5 & 8) especially liked their downstairs bunk room, with a nice selection of games and toys. The transaction was easy; Kamala was great. The house is a few blocks from the beach, but RIGHT at the entrance to the park, so great for hikers. It's not a hard walk to the beach, either. Beds comfortable. You won't be disappointed!

We had a great stay at the Puffin House. The kitchen is well equipped, and the house is just a short walk to the beach. The back deck was perfect for the sunny early fall afternoons. Thanks!

We had a wonderful time at the Puffin House this August. The owners were kind enough to let us have our wedding reception there. It was beautiful! Close to the beach, everything we needed. Thank you!!!

We had such a wonderful three days at the Puffin House. We made good use of the bikes, the grill, the fireplace, and the good books tucked away in the bookshelves. The house could not be more comfortable or lovely. Our group traveled eight hours to reach the Oregon Coast, and the Puffin House exceeded our (already high) expectations. What a great vacation home!

The house was wonderful, nicely furnished and very close to be able to walk into town via the road or the beach. We spent alot of time relaxing on the sunny deck and listening to all the birds and wind whispering through the beach pines. It was perfect for our 3 day stay in Manzanita. The only downside is that there was lots of RV traffic driving by to get to the state park that is literally steps away from the front door.

Hi Kammie, We love your home, it was just right for the two of us. We painted at the dining room table while we listened to your cd's. We enjoyed your beach glass book and all the cool art in the house. We layed out on the back deck, BBQ'd and played our drums. The house was very clean and comfortable. We especially liked the cozy down comforters! Thanks for your wonderful hospitality, it was refreshing. Smiles,Julie and Jesse.
