This was our first ever visit to the Costa del Azahar and we absolutely loved Alcossebre. This townhouse provides all the comforts that you could want to have a great holiday, everything has been thought of - and provided. The furnishings are of high standard, the bed is very comfortable, air con, mosquito nets on windows, well equipped kitchen. The beaches are wonderful, we preferred a beach just a few minutes in the car but you can walk to a fantastic beach. It is great to find accommodation that provides you with a cool box and beach mats and everything you might want for a day on the beach. The only reason I haven't given 5/5 is that for the first few days of our stay here we coincided with the end of the Spanish school holidays and we had maybe 5 or 6 families that took over the pool area and seemed to disregard the rules re kicking footballs and being loud and noisy at night. The town of Alcossebre is perfect with good shops and restaurants at good prices. We drove from Santander having taken the ferry from Plymouth with an overnight stay each way - we enjoyed our week on the coast and had the chance to see the interior of Spain and the roads and travel a pleasurable experience. We would recommend this property and Jason was excellent to deal with and we hope to return before too long.

Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Owner response: Thanks for taking the time to write your review, Helen & I are so pleased that you enjoyed your holiday and that our home was to your liking. We look forward to welcoming you again soon! Jason

The apartment was certainly as described, with everything we could have wanted, with some extras thrown in as well. The complex is lovely and well maintained, with the largest of 3 pools right outside your doorstep. Alcossebre itself is a great resort with numerous restaurants and shops and fantastic beaches. In all, I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone.

we had a lovely time here, the beaches were beautiful and the house was perfect, we had some great evenings on the terrace at the back, just chilling out and relaxing and having a few gin and tonics. The house was well equipped and decor was fab. House was close to beaches and restaurants and the walk back from the town on a night was a lovely way to walk off our dinner. The balcony on the front was lovely to have breakfast and the house and location was ideal for a relaxing holiday We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and family

The apartment is spacious and has all the mod cons. Cot/high chair/C beebies available which is great when you have small children and the balcony gate to the pool is lockable which keeps them safe. The balcony catches the evening sun so is a great place to relax. The complex was really quiet (early May) so it's like having your own personal swimming pool and gardens some days. It is a bit of a walk into town but it's along the beach promenade so isn't exactly a chore and there are restaurants/bars/supermarkets nearer. Overall a really nice apartment and a great holiday destination.

This was one of the nicest apartments we have ever stayed in. It was beautifully maintained and extremely well equipped with many thoughtful touches that made it feel like home from home. We particularly liked the large terrace with full sun canopy, overlooking the gardens and pool. The owner provided us with extremely helpful and very detailed information about the apartment, local restaurants, beaches and all sorts of things which are so useful when you are new to an area. There were a few restaurants within about at 10 minute walk, but the main town of Alcossebbre with many lovely restaurants and tapas bars was about 20 minutes walk . There is a a cleverly constructed wooden walkway which stretches along the coastline. all the way into town, which means the walk is very pleasant, and safe with no traffic to worry about. Alcosebbre is a typical spanish sea-side resort which we loved, not a lot of English was spoken We ate in many lovely restaurants and didn't have a bad meal anywhere. One restaurant which we feel warrants a mention is Valentin's, on the front in Alcosebbre, the service and food here were exceptional. The beaches were really lovely and never seemed to be too crowded. If you are looking for wild nightlife and English breakfast this isn't the place for you. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment if you are looking for a restful holiday in lovely surroundings, with beautiful walks nearby and good food and wine. We would have no hesitation in returning.

This was a lovely villa situated in a very well maintained complex. The villa was clean and tastefully furnished with nice fresh clean linen. I apologies now if I over use the word ‘lovely’ but it’s true, everything was just lovely. The main living area and main bedroom is air-conditioned which was just as well because when we went (end of July beginning of August) the weather was wall to wall fantastic! My children aged 10 and 14 loved it too especially the pool and the freedom offered to them in such a lovely resort. The people living within the direct area (didn’t meet any others) were very friendly and made us very welcome. The pool really is just by the patio and is fabulous and having looked around at the other pools on the complex, this one was by far the best. The only thing that could improve the villa is air-conditioning in the second bedroom but that’s a personal preference. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to visit again. The local supermarket was a short and very pleasant walk away and sold just about anything you could need. A quick tip, we parked in the town centre in a blue bay at lunch time and got a parking ticket! White bays are free all the time. No fear though, with the pink ticket you get a little envelope, put the ticket in the envelope and find a parking meter, press the yellow button three times and pay the ‘on the spot fine’ of €3.90 (I think) and you get a slip, half you keep as a memento and half goes in the envelope with the pink fine slip and post in the slot at the top of the machine. Much, much cheaper than dear old blighty! We visited the water park just south of Alcossebre, about 30 minutes drive and had a wonderful day. My advice is to make use of the very handy cool box thoughtfully provided and take a pack lunch and lots of drinks. We got there for when it opened at 10 and had a wonderful day. Another good trip out was to Valencia. I recommend the open top bus tours (two tours, one ticket) to see the old city do tour 1 and tour 2 to see where the Valencia Grand Prix runs. I would also recommend the nature trail and old castle just north of Alcossebre and the church just to the south, all by car not foot. There are plenty of places of visit and park and walk. Overall I highly recommend the villa, we really did have a wonderful time and the welcome pack was very much appreciated especially as my eldest daughter is a type 1 diabetic and the chilled orange juice on arrival was much appreciated.

We have just come back for a 9 night stay at this fantastic part of Spain which is unspoilt by tourism... Spain as it was 20 years ago! The house is perfect for families or couples of all ages the owners use this as thier holiday home and have not skimped on the decoration and accessories. The pool is in full view from the terrace and so is easy to keep an eye on the kids playing. The beaches and shops are within a 10 min walk and there are lots of local attractions within easy reach by car. Will be returning next year ........

This was the reason we returned to Alcossebre as the kids were well catered for: swimming for most of the day, then a walk to the beach to enjoy crabbing or wave jumping, and back to the pool for more swimming whilst we sunbathe - with the front door locked and the youngest going pool, get dressed, TV, pool, get dressed, TV all day whilst we sat just by the terrace entrance, this made it a perfect holiday, and relaxing, for the 2nd year running. For us eating out is now too expensive, having lived in Spain on exchange rate of about 1.50, so we did find the general cost of the holiday a lot more, even though we know the best places to buy food etc, however my meals, thanks to the well equipped kitchen, were fair competition to any restaurant. With no time restraint in the pool we found the kids, having been showered for dinner, jumped back in the floodlit pool until bedtime, whilst we relax with a drink, perfect. Have recommended to many friends.

Just enjoyed a perfect break in Spain. The rental was as described if not better! Really nice apartment in a great development. The house had everything we needed for our stay and the owners were extremely helpful by giving us information on everything we would need to know on the local area

We stayed at the house at the beginning of July 2009. The description in the advert is accurate. The property is well maintained and was nice and clean on our arrival. The aircondtioning we found invaluable, especially at night. There are 3 or 4 restaurants within about 15 mins walking distance and many more in the centre of town which is about 25 to 30 mins walking. There are some interesting places to visit nearby. Enjoyed being able to practise my Spanish as this is very much a Spanish resort. I will recommend the property to others.

                          Owner info

                          Year Purchased: 2002

About the owner: Helen, Jason and their two children bought this house new in 2002 after holidaying in Alcossebre for a number of years. We liked the area so much and it suited our family holiday requirements so well that we decided to buy ourselves a holiday home in the area.

Why the Owner Chose Castellon Province:
It had a great layout with a comfortable open plan lounge/diner, plenty of terraces and view into the private gardens and overlooking the pool.
