CASA ARBOLES --- A house with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, that can be rented as 2 separate units.
ARRIBA, The upstairs, is about 400 sq' with a 200sq' private balcony. It has a separate bedroom, bathroom and kitchen with a pass through bar to the balcony. This is the ideal spot for hammock lounging, up with the trees.
ABAJO, The downstairs, is about 600 sq' with a 250sq' private lanai. It also has a separate bedroom, bathroom and a much larger common area.
Both units overlook the quebrada (creek) and back up to native Guanacaste forest.
Casa Arboles is about 200m, as close as you can legally live, to the beach. It is a 2 minute walk from the house to the sand.
Guiones beach, because it is about 4 miles long and west, pacific facing, gets surf almost every day of the year.

Share our dream get-away. Wake up in the jungle and roll out of bed next to the beach. Stay in the perfect beach house where you can walk to everything you need. We call it Casa Arboles, The Tree House, because it was built on the edge of the lot, near a stream, surrounded by native jungle. We built the house to be the least invasive as possible to the lot, with high quality building.
The house consists of 2 separate one bedroom apartments, with one above the other. It is perfect for 2 couples or 2 small families. The houses can be rented together or separately. The size of the house is small (approximately 600 square feet upstairs and 1000 square feet downstairs) so that we did not have to cut any trees. Upstairs it has a fabulous six foot wide balcony on two sides from which you can see monkeys, nature, and the ocean. Downstairs there is a large covered veranda off the kitchen which backs up to the jungle. Both patios are covered, lighted and come equipped with hammocks for maximum relaxation!
The Tree House is less than one block from Playa Guiones. The town of Guiones is very easy walking distance, also just a few blocks away or a ten minute stroll down the sand. The house is new - the downstairs was finished in December 2007 and the upstairs was finished in March 2005. Both units are fully furnished. Each unit has air conditioning, hot water, ceiling fans in all rooms, closets, a full kitchen, separate bedrooms, a futon couch, hammocks for the balcony, quality sheets and towels, and more.
Guiones beach is a 4 mile long, pristine beach, home to amazing surfing waves as well as tide pools, incredible shells, great fishing and lots of wildlife. The waves come in all sizes and are great for both learners and rippers. Guiones town (about five blocks away) has excellent restaurants, bars, shops, surf shops, and a friendly vibe. The Nosara Yoga Institute is very close (10 min walk) and offers top notch yoga classes in an open air, jungle setting and they also give teacher training courses. Ostional Beach (30 minute drive or taxi ride) is a famous giant turtle nesting ground. This could not be a more perfect vacation spot for surfing, hanging out on the beach, or as a home base from which to explore Costa Rica.
We bought this lot and built this little house so we could vacation and surf without a car, away from the noise of town but close enough to enjoy the everyday comforts we are used to. It was always my dream to be able to walk to check the surf while I finished my morning coffee. There is an airport about five kilometers away in Nosara town. You can fly into Liberia and drive to Norara or you can get local flights from San Jose to Nosara on Sansa or Nature Air. Liberia airport (LIR) is a 2 hour drive from Guiones. Rental cars are available in Guiones, in addition to Liberia and San Jose. It is also easy to rent bikes and surfboards in town. There are at least 3 surf schools in Guiones.

Why the Owner Chose Nosara
We love the friendly, warm, beautiful, peaceful location of Guiones with waves almost every single day of the year. We have traveled through most of the world, especially Central America and Hawaii and we have found nothing comprable to Nosara for convenience, beach quality and great attitude of locals. Half Moon Bay is also beautiful but can be chilly. The balance of both places is perfect for us.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We love being so close to the beach. Our house is about as close as you can legally build to the water. We can walk to the sand barefoot and go back and forth all day long. The beach is about 4 miles long so if the surf is too big for me or too small for my husband, we can take a long walk, play in tide pools with Miles and Romeo or just rest in a secluded spot on the beach. We also love being able to walk or bike to yoga and all the restuarants, shops and hotels as well. We don't have a pool because we want to preserve the natural beauty here and on our lot. Most of the restaurants in town also have pools and we usually walk over for lunch and a dip with Miles. Our property is quiet but also safely nestled amongst friendly neighbors and a security guard just 1 door down.

Molly, Scott and now baby Miles are from Half Moon Bay, California. Molly is a Veterinarian and Scott owns a power washing business. Baby Miles, born 10/08 is the happiest baby around and loves Costa Rica. Romeo, the sand catching Boston Terrier, is the lucky pet who fits under the seat and gets to come to Nosara with us.

I just decided to add this in addition to the guest book that we have at the house so people interested in staying at Casa de los Arboles can see how much the rest of us have enjoyed it. I miss those peaceful mornings on the porch and long hours in the surf and our lazy costa rican routine. Romeo, one of our dogs, misses it too. He just can't get warm here. Pura Vida! Molly
