The novelty of the 20-minute ferry ride provides a delightful transition to the "turtles" pace of life on Bald Head Island, where the maximum speed limit is mere 18 m.p.h. Here visitors and residents travel the island's winding lanes and seaside drives on golf carts, bicycles, in-line skates or their own feet.
Our home "Hawick" was built in 2003 and located in the heart of Bald Head Island - on the corner of Edward Teach and Sandwich Tern Trail, close to the Market and the beach. Hawick is a four bedroom, two story house professionally decorated with upscale furnishings and period antiques.
Club membership - Rental provides temporary membership in the Bald Head Island Country Club, giving you access to the handsome, shingle-style club house, excellent but informal dining facilities, fitness facility, and golf, tennis, swimming, and croquet.
We have provided every convenience we could to make your stay a delightful and memorable one. We know you will find Bald Head Island and "Hawick" very different, yet so comforting it will make you feel at home.

We loved the beach, waves, breezes and really enjoyed the house. The setting here is gorgeous and the amenities are great. The decor is interesting and accomodations comfortable. The bikes were a nice advantage we have not had before. Thanks

We have stayed on Bald Head many times but the stay at Hawick was very disappointing. The house was not clean and the refrigerator had dead bait left over with other food inside. Also the ice maker didn't work so we had to buy ice every day. The owner refused to return our deposit for a list of problems that were there when we arrived. This vacation was a family retreat with 3 generations that has an impeccable Grandmother that cleaned the house and left it in better shape than when we arrived. Renters Beware

We spent a week at Hawick and each day was better than the last. The owners provided every convenience and extra one could want. The house was lovely, clean, and very comfortable. We are back! This is our sixth year, but Hawick is our favorite place to be! It was too hot this week to kayak but tennis, walkes, beach and pool were great. We love it. We'll be back. Thanks for everything!
