The Kerr House is the former island home of the British Crown Doctor Norman Kerr and his wife. This distinctive colonial house built in the 1940's is secluded among 2.5 acres of lush gardens. Enter the property through the gated stone walls and up the tree covered drive surrounded by coconut palms, plumerias and native flora.
Located adjacent to the calm waters of Rock Sound the private sundeck provides a panoramic view of the ocean and bay. Miles of beautiful white sand beaches are just a five minute drive over the hill. Ideal for swimming, diving and beachcombing, these safe clean reef-protected beaches are nearly deserted. Our location is excellent for sportfishing and diving, with docking facilities directly across the street. Some of the best fishing grounds in the Bahamas are just a short boat ride away, charters can be arranged.
A pleasant walk through the village takes you to the Ocean Hole Park, on the way passing several small stores, a bakery and restaurant. The Ocean Hole is a natural "blue hole" that the locals say is bottomless and the fish will eat out of your hand.
Available with the rental are the services of our caretakers. Chink and Dora live nearby and have worked at the house for over 15 years. Dora cooks your choise of two meals a day and takes care of the housekeeping. Chink will take you to and from the Airport, if you so desire. Chink and Dora are a wealth of information, let them be your bridge to the land, its people, and products.
Travel connections are simple with Bahamsair servicing Rock Sound. USair and the Island Fast Ferry service Governors Harbour. We would be glad to arrange a rental car to meet you at the airport or house. Rates are discounted by the week. Our 4 wheel drive SUV may also be available for your use.
