About the owner: Donna and I built Hummingbird Suites ourselves and named it after Donna's favorite bird. Kevin works at a local genetic research facility and Donna is a beautician and runs her own Salon. Kevin is from Florida and Donna from Massachusetts.
Why the Owner Chose Bar Harbor: We are only 15 minutes from the top of Cadillac Mountain. We are in such a beautiful area and our friends from other States were always wanting to come here to explore the area so we built the Suites, not just for our friends but for others who would appreciate what this area has to offer.
Kevin came here just for the summer from Florida in 1987 to work as head keeper at the local zoo. He loved it so much that he never left. Donna visited here for many years from Massachusetts and decided to move here in 1991. We married in 1992 and we both love it here. We love hummingbirds so much that we decided to name our place after them since we have so many that visit our gardens.
