Ranger-led snowshoe hikes are held each Saturday from early January to early April at the south end of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Meet the ranger at 1:30 PM outside Lassen Chalet for an approximate two-hour hike spanning one to two miles at 7,000-feet elevation. Participants will be provided with snowshoes. Call for details and reservations at 530-595-4444 ext. 5133. Winter Snowshoe Walks are offered to the public on Fridays by the Almanor Ranger District. Reservations at (530) 258-2141.
Warm up in this quaint upscale "A" frame that has windows from floor to ceiling and an open loft. There is a full kitchen and the living room flows out to the deck for easy access to the BBQ and lounge chairs for looking out at the lake. The Peninsula Market just down the street has hundreds of wines in many vintages. Perfect for picking up any grocery item including a great selection of gourmet foods. Many restaurants are close and convenient, don't miss taking your boat across the lake to Plumas Pines Restaurant for patio dining on the deck overlooking the lake.
