When we are staying at the home, our kids spend hours exploring the rock outcroppings and "rock holes" along the beaches and coves discovering the life and wonder they hold. As a couple we always make time for the walks along the beaches late in the afternoon or early morning, with or without kids, beachcombing, and discovering what the last tide has washed up or exposed - occasionally finding nesting loggerhead and green sea turtles or their tracks.
When exploring the beaches by myself, I always carry a spinning rod or fly rod with a yellow or white buck tail or fly, and have caught a large variety of fish (Tarpon to African Pompano) from the sandy shore or rocks. Snorkeling can only be described as an incredible experience! On each side of the beach and cove shown in the attached photo, you will find reefs, crevices, caves and caverns - all with a wide diversity and abundance of life and colours. In this description we inadvertently interchange the words villa and beach house to describe the home - this due to its proximity to the Caribbean Sea and the lifestyle it has blessed us with!
Our home is located in the Palmas del Mar Resort on the southeastern coast of Puerto Rico. It is located in the exclusive Surfside/Shell Castle Residential community of the resort. As stated previously, the villa is located within close proximity (walking distance) of several quiet and pristine coves and beaches, and trails to explore... no need to load a car or golf cart just exit the yard! The property has a wonderful balance of interior living space and landscaped grounds for you to enjoy and experience - truly a Caribbean treasure!

Spacious (over 2000 square feet) Two-Level, Family Home, Four (4) Bedroom, three (3) bath - two of the baths with jetted tubs.
The spacious bedrooms accommodate 11 people comfortably. The Master bedroom having a King size bed (2 persons), Bedroom 2 having a queen/double bed (2 persons), Bedroom 3 having a bunk bed (3 persons) and a double futon (2 persons), and Bedroom 4 having a queen/double bed (2 persons). This arrangement allows for 3 families with children or 8 adults (4 couples) to stay in the villa comfortably. The four couples staying in the Master bedroom and Bedrooms 2,3 and 4; or three couples staying in the Master bedroom, Bedrooms 2 and 4 and up to five (5) children staying in Bedroom 3 - more than enough room for your family reunions!
Living and Dining Room - Separate tastefully decorated living and dining rooms which open up to the covered terrace creating a large open area for entertaining.
Garage - two (2) car garage with electric openers.
Appliances - Refrigerator, Oven and Range, Dishwasher, Microwave, as well as a Washer and Dryer.
Full Air Conditioning - Three (3) split systems (living floor and master bedroom) and window units in Bedroom #2, #3, and #4. A retractable ceiling has been incorporated into the interior patio which can be closed so that the entire house can be air conditioned. However, as the house faces due east it constantly receives breezes from the trade winds and is naturally cooled by cross ventilation.
Private Pool and Spa - The pool and spa compliment the tropical landscaping. These private amenities will add tremendously to your Caribbean vacation. Relax after a long day at the beach with a refeshing cool dip in the pool with the family, or perhaps a quiet invigorating late-night moonlit swim under the stars.
Internet Access- Internet accessis avaialable via wireless and/or Ethenet (Cat5e) connection. Bring your laptop and/or smart phone and and enjoy staying connected from the villa, the hammock , poolside and sometimes the cove.

Our group of 8 had a lovely visit here. Spent lots of time going between the beach and the pool. Appreciated the space in the yard, and even made a special rice recipe with fruit from the carambola tree. One afternoon, a local iguana visited us. The house shows a bit of wear and tear, but is spacious, cool, and well equipped. We especially enjoyed having our coffee on the veranda looking out over the palm trees in the morning. Palmas del Mar offers lots to do, see, and eat when you are in the mood to venture out. (i.e. the Tapas restaurant, beach Bohio, and Caracoles) We added the golf cart, which was well worth it. The owner was very helpful and responsive to our questions.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
