We have weeks left at the end of September and in October, but they are going fast! Check on off-season rates! Now that the weather has finally warmed up, head for the Shore! The fishing has been good - but crabbing off the dock has been exceptional!
The house is a fabulous single family two-story cape with four bedrooms; Two Queens, Two Twins, and one full futon in the fourth bedroom), full baths, living room, dining room, kitchen and large deck. AND LET'S NOT FORGET - CENTRAL AIR! AND CENTRAL HEAT! AND A CANAL IN BACK!
The house is nicely decorated and the kitchen is contains all utensils and appliances. The house has three TV’s, Two VCR’s, One DVD and cable with HBO and high speed internet access. The renter only needs to bring linens and towels.
For the boater, this house is made for you! Situated on a lagoon or canal in High Bar Harbor, a man-made series of canals with approximately 100 homes. The canal has deep water access with seven to nine feet depths, although low tide at the dock behind the house is about three feet.
There is direct access (no bridges) to the Atlantic Ocean via Barnegat Inlet, and to the Intercoastal Waterway and Barnegat Bay via Double Creek Channel.
Boats can be put in the water at the Barnegat Light Municipal dock, less than one mile by water or land. Guests can swim in the canal as there is limited boat traffic. Crabbing is great off the dock and some neighbors claim they catch fish, too.
The beaches of Barnegat Light are less than one mile away with free parking (beach passes are available for purchase at Town Hall) including a Bay Beach suitable for toddlers. Bikes, buggies and beach toys can all be rented inexpensively from nearby rental chains.
In walking distance are parasailing, private fishing charters and large day trip fishing boats, including Miss Barnegat Light, a high speed catamaran.
Sunset cruises are offered nightly. There are three to four restaurants and shopping in nearby Barnegat Light.
In the southern half of the Island, visitors will find more commercial activity including Fantasy Island Amusement Park, miniature golf courses galore, shopping and dining opportunities.
Atlantic City is only one hour away by car, and several boats depart daily from Beach Haven to Atlantic City. Attractions further south include Ocean City and its Boardwalk, historic Cape May and the surprisingly good Cape May Zoo.
A half-dozen golf courses are within 45 minutes from the island including the top ranked Seaview at Marriott and the good value municipal course in Manahawkin, Ocean Acres.
After a day’s activities, however, most folks are happy to return to the relative calm of High Bar Harbor. In fact, most visitors never stray far from the beach or canal during their entire stay.

Why the Owner Chose Barnegat Light
We have been coming to Barnegat Light for more than 30 years. While not in Barnegat Light legally, High Bar Harbour is next to Barnegat Light and is the ideal location for boaters, kayakers and fishermen. It is great for families, too. It is a bit of a ride in season to the amusement parks and minature golf on the south end of LBI, but parents will appreciate the quiet.

Swimming, fishing, boating, crabbing, barbecuing, and sunbathing on the best beaches on Long Beach Island - who could ask for more!
Great open area out of main channel to High Bar Harbor. Averages about 6 ft. depth - great for tubing and water-skiing. Remember - NJ requires orange flag for anyone being towed.
Best Beaches on LBI. Also, Lifeguard protected. Walk or drive from home - free parking on side streets. Beach pass required - can be bought on beach.
"City" of Barnegat Light - shopping, restaurants, bar, ice cream and more...don't get overwhelmed!
Great area for clamming. But don't take your boat unless it has shallow draft - only 6 inches at low tide! Great for kayakers.
