Love this cabin! We had such a great time. We stayed here with another family; 9 people total (5 kids, 4 adults). We felt like we had plenty of privacy which can often be tricky when renting a mountain house with friends. The cabin was spacious, clean, has a fully stocked kitchen, plenty of seating and lots of windows to enjoy the view. There are seriously a plethora of games and books, so many that you and your kids could not get through all of them. Kudos to the owner for stocking it so well. Regarding the stairs, we created an assembly line for bags (we had groceries, luggage, etc) and just took our sweet old time. Wasn't bad at all (adults are 40-50 yrs old). During the day we hiked and went into town for dinner. Even during a really busy weekend, Idyllwild still had a peaceful energy. Every night, we relaxed out on the deck under the stars, listening to music and catching up while the kids played games inside. It was perfect; we will definitely be back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

If I had to use one word to describe this house it would be "unkept". It's a nice cabin in the woods and was very quite an peaceful. But, when we arrived we found a dirty refridgerator which contained loose dog kibble in the fridge and an open bag of kibble in the freezer as well as multiple areas of crusty food on the fridge shelves. Secondly, the oven was quite dirty inside with burnt on black stains so much we decided not to use it. The electric grill outside on the deck was also quite greasy and dirty and there were many rat droppings around it, on the deck chairs, and on the deck window sills that covered about a 3' x3' area. Inside there were quite a few cob webs and 3 spiders which we killed. One other item that people should know about is the path that leads from the driveway to the front door. It is all up hill (about 40 vertical feet) that has about 50 steps made of mostly large rounded riverrock set in cement. Not and easy path to get up when carrying items from unloading the vehicle and after 4 trips of unloading when had to rest. Not recommended for anyone not in good shape. The owner would not correct the cleaning issues because she said "the cleaning person was unavailable". If I were the owner I would have driven out there asap and rectified all the issues. Or offered some partial refund. But, they did not offer any type of solutions except for us to leave and find another place and get refund. But on such short notice we didn't find anything in town comparable and available. So, we won't be back next year.Owner response: Dear Ron, I am so sorry that we were unable to make your vacation stay a happy one. We take such great care of the cabin and have only received positive feedback. I want to reply so some of your comments. We keep our fridge clean of all food except for condiments. It is cleaned after each stay. I keep one very small bag of kibble in the owners shelf in the bottom shelf of freezer. I am unclear how a few pieces of that kibble was scattered to other shelves. Also, our oven is scheduled for cleaning one time per month. I was unable to get someone to clean it the day you arrived and offered to have it cleaned the next morning, but you called me back and said you did not want it clean. I received a picture of it after you departure and although it did have some burn marks at the bottom, it was completely usable. Regarding cobwebs and animal droppings, we are high in the mountains. Cobwebs appear within a day of cleaning and animals spend the evenings hanging out. It is part of the beautify of the mountains and yet sometimes a surprise for those that dont spend too much time there. I hope other readers that may view your comments, will take time to read all the other positive comments and contact me to discuss concerns. You point out the stairs which is very important for people to know and it is mentioned in my advertisement. But yes, especially in the mountains, sometimes the air is thinner and the stairs can be a challenge for those out of shape. Thank you for your time to let us know your feelings.

Very nice and well-stocked cabin. We enjoyed it so much, we decided to stay in and cook on our second night too (were planning to have dinner out). We especially loved the fireplace and games that were provided. Also, we really appreciated that it was dog-friendly and that we were able to bring our dogs for a small additional fee. We'll definitely stay there again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, sightseeing, girls getaway.

We have just returned from a 3-night stay at this cabin in Idyllwild. It really is a great house - very comfortable, the kitchen is really well equipped, and gave our stay a 'home from home' feel. There's also a great selection of books, movies and boardgames, which gave us some great family time in the evenings after long hikes by day! Many thanks Rosanna. Rosanna, Thank you for a lovely weekend at the cabin and for allowing us a late checkout on Sunday. We had a wonderful time, and the cabin was excellently appointed. The view was splendid, the fire was warm, and there was a healthy variety of movies and music. I will be back again soon! Sincerely, JohnDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband and I stayed here last April and we just loved it. This time my girlfriend and I had a girls weekend just to relax. The weather was perfect. We sat outside on Saturday and did some scrapbooking and watched the birds and squirrels. The best place to just relax. Thanks Rosanna, we plan on comming back again. What a wonderful getaway! The cabin had everything we needed, was immaculate and so relaxing. The Idyllwild area is beautiful - and such a relief from the heat of Los Angeles! The kids, the dogs and the adults all had a fabulous, relaxing time. We will definitely return.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
I love staying in Idyllwild. It is so peaceful at our cabin where everything slows down and there is so much time for reflection. We love to go for local hikes, enjoy relaxing meals or just stay at home and be in the peace and quiet and read a great book. We are on a quiet street where there is no foot or auto traffic.
